  1. 139, with many blanks at the opening day starting pitcher through the 90s, with the exception of Cal Eldred and Chris Bosio. No recollection of Rafael Roque.
  2. Ended at $678. Ultimately a good deal for whoever won it. You're looking at less that $7 per bobblehead. Plus you get the autographs, pennants, and miscellaneous random Brewer things.
  3. As Hoffman's 600th is different from Aaron's career in Milwaukee as discussed, it is also very different from Uecker's 50 years in baseball. I would make mention of it somewhere, but nowhere near the rafters.
  4. Via Tom Krasovic, Senior MLB Writer at AOL Fanhousehttp://mlb.fanhouse.com/2010/09/09/twelve-thoughts-rockies-dynamic-hitting-duo-next-dodgers-owne/ What are the implications for the Brewers? Discuss.
  5. I can get onto Redfin, it just doesn't have any listings for WI, as LouisEly mentioned. If I'm moving to Chicago, I wouldn't think to look on Redfin because it's not marketed here--so not many people will know about it. That's all I'm saying. So you're limiting your exposure to only people who have heard of Redfin. It may be really popular in Chicago like you think it is, but it may also be really unpopular outside of Chicago. So just referring back to your comment about most people using Realtor or Redfin, I would tend to disagree. But yes, if they pick up on MLS like many realtors do, then you're covering more bases that you would if you didn't list via MLS. If you're a 40-hour-a-week single guy needing something to do on the side, then by all means, research the heck out of it and sell it yourself. If you're schedule is hectic and you want to spend your spare time with your wife and kid(s) without headache, get a reputable realtor and discuss commission with them. I don't think selling is as easy in this market as you think it will be. Unless you're offering your condo up at a bargain price. But good luck whatever you decide to do.

  7. Just a heads up, I've never heard of Redfin. I bought a home 3 years ago without an agent and have been browsing listings the last year or so. It doesn't appear to be available in Wisconsin at all. If Redfin is limited in its areas, you're limiting your list of potential buyers to only people in those areas in which they advertise since to me it doesn't seem too popular. I agree that MLS is important--people who search "the new-old fashioned way" by going to Coldwell Banker / Century 21/ etc. websites can still find your through their sites. Realtors can also find you easily for old folks who don't use computers. It seemed like when I used Realtor.com in the past, I wasn't too excited about it. It seems to be better now, though. For me, I think I would go the realtor route just so I can use their information/resources and push the headaches of the transaction onto them. But if you're confident you can price it right and take the emotion out of it and sell quickly, then I understand trying to do it on your own. If you're priced high, difficult to get a hold of and cannot show the condo well or don't have it staged well, then you might be wasting some time since you might gravitate to a realtor later on. Just some thoughts. Hope it helps.

  9. I need: 2010 Cooper and 2009 Melvin I have: 2006 Cooper and 2004 Podsednik And a side note that I'm going from memory on these. I'm 95% sure I have extras of both. If interested, we can finalize via PM. I'm in Green Bay/Fox Valley area. Can meet or mail.
  10. Just a quick note to say that I received the same gift certificate ($25) for Christmas, and since I don't make it to many games, I was rather irritated when I realized the other day when I was purchasing tickets that I could not use them online. Rather, I had to either send in 7 days in advance or make the purchase at the ticket window. The game was in two days. Brewers need to get with the program on these. Unfortunately, I am in a similar boat, and can't help you out other than a bump. I think you'll find a good Samaritan to help you out. Although the pizza gift certificates and t-shirts sounds pretty good.
  11. Hello... I missed out on the chance to buy tickets online at Brewers.com today. I'm looking for 3 or 4 tickets (together) to the April 5th Opening Day game for a reasonable price. I have bobbleheads to sweeten the deal. PM me if you interested.
  12. That Brett Favre joke is 5 years old now. It's not funny to me anymore. The Bud Light house was good. Invader3K's joke about Budweiser is right on. Snickers and Betty White was funny. I thought Doritos had a pretty good night. "Keep your hands off my momma and keep your hands off my Doritos." And the dog's revenge on it's owner got the biggest laugh from me all night.
  13. BHF-- Where did you end up getting it done? It looks very nice, and $100 sounds like a very reasonable price (when compared to the $250 you were originally quoted) especially with all the matting and engraved plate.
  14. Cars lose 60% of their value the first 4 years you own it. You in your finanicial situation should have been the person to buy the vehicle "60% off" with 50,000 miles on it. Very few people can afford to purchase a new car and throw away 60% of what you put into it so quickly. Cars are not investments. You had been borrowing cars for a while, and you probably needed your own vehicle. Instead of thinking "I wanted my first car to be a new car that I liked," you should have been thinking "I want my first car to be a car the I like that won't keep me in debt for 10 years so that in those 10 years I could have used all the money I saved on my vehicle purchase to pay off all my debt and have money saved up for my house and my wedding so I can live for those 10 years in happiness instead of living for 3 months with my clothes drenched in the aroma of the new car smell." Those new car smell air fresheners are like 3 for 99 cents. You could have packed your used vehicle's trunk full of them. I bought a 4-year-old car in high school with 40k miles...paid $7,500 for it with money I had saved. Now 9 years later, I'm still driving it with 180,000 miles, and it runs like Usain Bolt. All I'm ever going to be out is my $7500. If you paid $15k, you're out that $7500 in just a few years. I don't know if at this point the advice would be to sell your car because I haven't kept track of what you paid/how much you have in it/how much you have left to pay, and frankly, it doesn't seem like you would do that anyway. But I think you do need to re-examine your thought process by learning from your mistakes so that the next 10 years are full of wedded bliss. Live like no one else so later you can live like no one else.
  15. I'm not qualified to give any financial advice, but listen to The Dave Ramsey Show podcast (Free!). Let me get this straight...You helped cut your spending by 1) buying a house and 2) getting engaged (buying a ring). I love my house and I love my wife, but I want to be able to take care of them both, and if I don't have money to do that because I have escalating debt because I can't control my spending, then I'm going to lose both. Hope this helps in some way. Beans and rice, rice and beans.
  16. God bless the days of the 56k dial-up modem...Back when animated gifs were the web status symbol of choice.
  17. Ironically, I have a Gil Meche mini-Timber Rattler bobble that I would sell/trade. Doesn't do you much good now, though.
  18. Refinanced in March/April @ 4.625. 30 year fixed. About $1100 in closing costs. Green Bay, WI. Rate was 4.75% with 1/8% off for opening checking account.
  19. A few things: 1) Very nice collection. 2) I like the ball-cube frame idea. Seems like an easy solution for displaying many balls neatly. 3) Any significance to the fireplace?
  20. Associated Bank. 4.625% in March. (4.75% - .125%% for opening a checking account at bank (min $100 deposit). $1100 closing costs. Don't fall for the $4300. Try a different bank.
  21. Heresrobin...thanks for the great information, especially the idea about going and sitting in the stands the day before. I wouldn't mind paying a hundred or two to sit in the stands since it might be the only time we make it to Churchhill Downs in our lives. But if we do like you suggested, we'd get both experiences. JoeHova...I am a little worried that it'll be too much of a freak show for too long of a time. It seems like a thing that might be fun/funny for a while, and then get a little obnoxious. It's good to hear there might be a family section and a drunken freak section so I can spend time in both.
  22. My wife and I are looking to go to the Kentucky Derby in 2009. First issue, we have no tickets and no connections for tickets, so we'd like to square that away before making the trek down there. Anyone with connections? Suggestions? Success buying tickets online or elsewhere? Like anyone, we don't want to break the bank here. I know the infield is just one big party with no real view of the track and those tickets are sold day-of for $40. I would kind of like to sit in the grandstand and place some wagers and watch the races. Has anyone been to the Derby and can share your experience? Seating location...things to do outside of the Derby (Louisvile Slugger!)...wagering (are there lines? make all bets at once?)... Anything would be appreciated. We have a friend who lives in Kentucky who we would be able to stay with, I think, so we shouldn't need hotel acommodations. And I think we would be looking for 3 tickets (wife, I, and friend).
  23. NOTE: These tickets sold...thanks. Hey all. I'm trying to unload some Packers tickets for Sunday vs Houston. Sec. 111, Row 52. I have them listed on eBay for $80 buy-it-now. Face on these are $64/each for $128 total. Just looking to get rid of them at this point. Hence, the low price. Thanks.
  24. If we're talking about Aaron Rodgers, he wasn't a reach. He fell in the laps of the Packers with the 24th pick in the 1st round of the 2005 draft after being a potential #1 pick (which ended up being Alex Smith) Did Prince fall to #7? It looked like he could be the best of the class after his 2007 season, but since then, I think a number of the players the Brewers passed on are catching up. But to talk about the topic, congrats to the promoted. Here's to hoping he's a guy area scouts will love to work for and is accepting and appreciative of their opinions and critiques of players. Solid guys at the top will help the guys at the bottom. I don't care where we draft from (East/West Coast) as long as they draft the guys based on where their instincts told them they should be on the draft board.
