White Sox inquired about Hall (went nowhere)

According to Suntimes, before re-signing Uribe, the Sox looked at other shortstop options including inquiring about Bill Hall.

 

Not sure who the Sox were offering though it's no secret Jon Garland (owed $12 million in 08) is being shopped. Can't see giving up Hall for one year of Garland who isn't much of an upgrade over the guys already in the mix.

Hall should have quite a bit of value on the trade market as a SS.

 

But I think the Brewers are counting on him to rebound next year. If you remember, Ned talked about him having MVP potential before last season. And Doug doesn't trade low.

 

Plus we are already looking for outfielders. I just can't see us trading Hall.

I can see us trading Hall to someone needing a SS, but NOT for Jon Garland (that was suggested in another online column I saw as well and thought it was not receiving enough in return).
