Reserve Lists

There was a story on mlb.com last week, I think, that mentioned that major and minor league reserve lists were due to be finalized by Nov. 20.

What are they? 40 man rosters?

This means that the Brewers will add any necessary minor leaguers to their 40-man roster by that date to protect them from the Rule 5 draft. They will also position their eligible minor leaguers on the AAA and AA rosters in such a way that they will be available in the major league and minor league phases of Rule 5.

Shortly after the 20th, Brewerfan will post exactly how all the prospects were positioned for the December Rule 5. Keep an eye on the Minor League forum for that, although we'll post a reminder here on the Major League side of things.

As a follow up. This was posted a while back listing all important offseason dates. Maybe one of the moderators can pin this to the top so we don't lose track of it.

It's stickied in the Trade Rumors forum. It was kind of a coin flip as to whether it belonged here or there. The tiebreaker was that this forum attracts stickies like picnics attract ants.
