Not to annoy, but this should probably be in the Rumor/Proposal thread. But for me, I would hope Kielty wouldnt be a Brewer, I think he is pretty bad, he does draw walks though. He looks like bozo the clown too.

He's an outstanding lefty masher, but word is, he'll sign with BOS after they deal Crisp (probably to MIN).

He's also outstanding defensively, but with his totally ineffectiveness verse RHP he wouldn't exactly be a great use of a roster spot. To go from Mench to Kielty would be very close to a lateral move.

If the guy were anything of a regular hitting threat instead of just an OBP tantalizer, he'd be someone's regular started, already snatched up and signed if he even made it as far as the FA market. But there's a good reason he's bounced around the last couple years and only played sporadically.

 

The Twins figured that out years ago and got Shannon Stewart for him while other teams still thought he'd have more value.
