exactly, at 4 million each year its kind of hard to pass that up. even if he goes down 4 million won't hinder us for the year after.

The article points out that Percival was looking at more than just money. He did turn down more from the Yankees (though they wanted him as a setup man) and he has a history with Maddon. Who knows if the Brewers were looking at him as a closer or not... but it looks like he wanted to close and that was also a factor.
