  1. What were the speculated trade packages for Burnes vs what we got? Speculative and actual are obviously very different things and it’s possible that Skubal could exceed what Burnes got or what is being rumored if a team goes crazy as Brock mentioned.
  2. I think that is a big reason is we’re still only 100 games into the new system. Yes there was some variation of ABS in the minors recently, but not all players were exposed so there is a learning curve. The Brewers also tried to implement a system earlier this year to tell the players when they could challenge a pitch in the at bat (making more sense analytically for the situation) and MLB said no.
  3. Aren’t some of those obvious ones what replay assist is for? I thought the same thing.
  4. That is exactly my point. They have had a solid O and terrible D against one of the easiest schedules… now you have possibly the toughest remaining schedule. It just feels like the Bears are setting one of their usual traps and you’re all falling for it again…
  5. Gotta say I’m impressed. Figured as a Bears fan you woulda learned by now, but good for you… suppose it is better to be unrealistically optimistic than the opposite. What two W’s do you see on the schedule for a team that has given up the 6th most points against one of the easiest schedules so far?
  6. How is that not holding on the right end for the Steelers on those FG? He just sticks his arm out and grabs/pulls the edge rusher and completely turns him.
  7. When the pulling tackle can start moving before the ball is snapped, doesn’t help at all.
  8. We’ve got this… Angel in the Front Row! Win it for Ueck!
  9. How do they spot the ball that far from the goal line afterwards as well?
  10. I guess we’re to the point where you are just going to be condescending with more strawman arguments because you got nothing left. Feel free to have the last word.
  11. You said he only got his hits in games that we were up 10 only. He asked you to back that up… nobody claimed that Ortiz is good… everybody agrees he isn’t good with the bat. You start making a straw man about posters claiming Ortiz is good with a bat and then claim victory. That was it.
  12. Man, the Padres sure like to complain about strike calls that are strikes right after getting a gift of a ball call again.
  13. He actually said it was bad before you did? All he had the audacity to do was ask you to back up your definitive statement about Ortiz with some stats and you couldn’t but claimed victory anyway…
  14. Wasn’t that cheese sandwiches and against the Angels? ETA: yup, it’s still sitting out there is WOAH SOLVDD. Cheese Sandwiches
  15. I don’t disagree with wanting them to be on the same page… although yesterday was the trade deadline, so there is likely some gamesmanship going on with Arnold yesterday and possible advantage to be gained by not fully revealing their hand. I was more questioning the ‘being tired of not being told how severe the injury is’ that HarryDoyle was discussing.
  16. Has any organization, in any sport, ever been completely honest regarding injuries to players? There is no competitive advantage to letting everybody know the full extent of the injuries and, unfortunately, we as fans don’t really have a right to know either.
  17. Seemed like an overly negative (and wrong) way to point it out… not surprised you didn’t see it that way. 8 of the 11 wins the offense has scored more than 5 runs and 7 or more runs in 4 wins. They’ve scored the 6th most runs per game this year at 4.85. We’re 26th in runs allowed per game. So it looks like it hasn’t been the just pitching and defense as the primary reason we’re above .500.
  18. Well, we have scored 5 or more runs in 8 of our 11 wins. We’re bound to give up more runs one of these wins…
  19. You’d prefer they give up more runs when they win games?
  20. Amos has entered the portal. I was looking forward to seeing him develop for next year… we definitely need more front court depth in the portal now.
  21. According to Buckyville and twitter, this guy isn’t legit.
