Ben Stanczyck

Hey guys, what do you all think of Ben Stanczyck this year is he going to move up or stay where he is? Think he will ever make it to the bigs? I played high school baseball against him... he was in my conference and was player of the year...however, he had his fair share of troubles against me when he was batting /> any thoughts on him?

I watched him play at UWM a bunch of times. IMO, I don't think he's big league material. He throws hard, but the minors are full of guys who throw 90+. His secondary stuff didn't impress me, and I think thats why he will struggle the more he moves up.

 

That said, I am hoping he proves me wrong. I do think his best shot will be as a setup/closer out of the pen. I will always cheer for a "homeboy" to make it big, especially with the Crew.

Yeah I hear ya, I think he tops out at around 90 though...it was cool to see him pitch for the big league club when I was in spring training last year. That was cool by Yost to give him a shot.
