Steve Bray

Looking to the experts to tell me more about Steve Bray and where he projects. I see he was invited to spring training, but does he project as a MLB reliever? I'm assuming middle relief, but don't know much about him. And I don't believe he's ever cracked the Top 30 BA list for the Crew, has he? Thanks for any info you have!

He tops out at about 90, so his ceiling would seem to be as a sinker/slider specialist, in mid-long relief. You gotta be very good to get MLB hitters out throwing 88-89 mph.

Bray has had all of one mediocre season in the minors since being drafted in 2003. While he's never going to be a closer in the bigs (well probably never), he's more than earned his shot. There have been guys with lesser stuff that have made it, so it's certainly possible for Steve.
