He's had 25-26 at bats for the Brewers so far (incredibly small sample). He still has a .328 OBP on the season which is better than McGehee, Counsell, Betancourt, Kotsay, Lopez, & Wilson And he is a better defender than all but Counsell probably
McGehee was hot for like three games yet somehow he was proclaimed as back. The guy is freakin awful this year and I don't get how DM doesn't realize this. KRod on the other hand is filthy.
I honestly think its about not putting a rookie in the middle of a playoff race, as stupid as that may be. Why else would Counsell and Kotsay still be on the roster? Why would they start Estrada as opposed to De La Cruz? Why would they have stuck with Casey so long? Every player move DM has made has screamed I value the steadiness of a veteran over the potential upside of the younger rookie.
I'd prefer to have them run away with the division. Yes it was drama filled, but the memories are only good because they got in. If they hadn't I wouldn't be looking back fondly at all. Once they get in there will be plenty of drama. And there wouldn't be a better feeling than to have a WS title so running away with the division and being able to set up our pitching and have home field gives us a better shot at that.
People should go watch that video. The guy looks like an absolutely massive tool. He's reacting like he just hit a walk off. It was a grand slam and I am sure it feels nice, but it was the 6th inning. Very different from anything I've seen Morgan or Braun do for those comparing him to either of those guys. I don't take that as a reason to make or not make the trade though. I'd still do that trade every time. For now Lawrie looks great, but its a very small sample so lets just see how he does.
Wow. Horrible call. He was out. On another note someone needs to take Wilson to task for not running that bunt out. He would have been easily safe if he was busting it down the line.
