I think Gwynn would play right if he was in the lineup. Weeks 2B Hardy SS Fielder 1B Hall CF Estrada C Jenkins LF Gwynn RF Counsell 3B
  2. Rickie23Weeks
Wow! Jenkins finally gets a start against a lefty. I wonder if Geoff finally went in to talk with Ned about him barely playing lately and not giving him a chance all year against a southpaw?
  3. Rickie23Weeks
Looks like Suppan will start tomorrow night, Sheets Sunday, and Capuano on Monday according to the js. www.jsonline.com/watch/?w...7&id=22011

If the Dodgers are really interested in Kevin Mench, like many sources seem to indicate, and with Doug Melvin saying that he wouldn't mind having a power left hander in the bullpen...I propose that this trade be consumated: Dodgers get: Kevin Mench Greg Aquino Brewers get: Hong-Chih Kuo Watch the videos of Kuo on the dodgers website and you will see a very impressive 94-97 mph fastball and some very impressive strikeout totals. In 59.2 innings last year he had 71 strikeouts...pretty impressive. He started a few games last year but also came out of the bullpen for a number of games. The bullpen would then look something like this: Villanueva- Long Relief Shouse- Situational Lefty Kuo- Power Lefty Capellan- Power Righty Wise- Off-speed Righty Turnbow- Closer ability Cordero- Closer
  5. Rickie23Weeks
umm..he is not on the Cardinals...he is on the Orioles team...
  6. Rickie23Weeks
Phillies get: OF Kevin Mench, SP Zach Jackson Orioles get: SP Jon Lieber Brewers get: 3B Melvin Mora Aubrey Huff can play 3B for the Orioles, Millar at first, and Jay Gibbons as the DH. Then they will have Payton, Patterson, and Markakis in the outfield...and it would protect the crew to have a proven 3B if Koskie can't go, because the depth we have would remain intact with Counsell and Graffy on the bench.

Aaron Rowand, CF--Philadelphia Phillies: Padres are in discussions with the Phils to acquire him for a reliever(s) with Scott Linebrink likely being the main target. The White Sox had been interested, but after he was not involved in the Freddy Garcia deal, it became unlikely that he would be dealt. Last updated: 03:35 PM - Jan 26, 07 by MLB4U.com | Source: Buster Olney ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this ends up happening, the Phillies will have LF Burrell and Shane Victorino will most likely move to the vacated center field....which leaves right field vacant!!!!!!!!!! Philly still a possible destination for Mench or even Clark???
  8. Rickie23Weeks
too bad mench isn't an infielder...then we could throw him in there too!
  9. Rickie23Weeks
Since the Red Sox have now officially signed J.D. Drew...they now have Ramirez, Drew, Hinske, Crisp, and Wily Mo Pena on the team...and with Ortiz DHing most of the time...not much playing time for Pena/Hinske. They might still be looking at a closer at this time since they don't have a definite choice at the moment...so how about this? Red Sox get: RHP Derrick Turnbow OF Brady Clark SP Ben Hendrickson Brewers get: CF Coco Crisp LHP Craig Breslow Breslow has great AAA numbers and did very well in limited action for the major league club last year as a lefty out of the pen. Our outfield alignment could then be Hall, Crisp, and Hart/Jenkins. Trade Mench for prospects or something.
  10. Rickie23Weeks
trade hardy and mench and jackson to toronto...look at this: 2B Weeks R CF Rios R 1B Fielder L SS Hall R RF Jenkins L LF Hart R C Estrada S 3B Koskie/Graffanino L/R pretty decent
  11. Rickie23Weeks
get him...besides the great defense in CF and highlight reel plays, he has hit .297, and .300 the two previous years before his injury shortened 2006. He's a switch hitter and would be great for our leadoff man. What would it take to get him?
  12. Rickie23Weeks
Turnbow + Mench + Gwynn for Crisp + Clement
  13. Rickie23Weeks
where is the link to this rumor anyways???
  14. Rickie23Weeks
can't be any worse than Clark...and he is a better leadoff option than Clark at this stage of the game...
  15. Rickie23Weeks
    or a CF
  16. Rickie23Weeks
get him...perfect rotation Sheets Capuano Bush Suppan Vargas then in emergency Villanueva Gallardo that is a lot better depth than we had last year by far!
  17. Rickie23Weeks
if they are looking for 3B help...I'd even throw in Koskie, bring Braun up and bat him behind Estrada...a no-pressure situation...who knows, he might eventually move up higher in the lineup earlier than we expect CF Figgins SS Hardy 2B Weeks 1B Fielder LF Hall RF Hart C Estrada 3B Braun WOW...that is all I can say!
  18. Rickie23Weeks
Ok...nobody else has made a play for him lately...but look at our lineup with this guy...not to mention all of the SB's and exciting speed. He is coming off of a down year, and his previous 3 years hit above .290. I would give up Turnbow, Mench, and whoever else they'd like...I really just want to see some moves made...and this is a great place to start. CF Figgins S SS Hardy R 2B Weeks R 1B Fielder L LF Hall R RF Hart R C Estrada S 3B Koskie/Graffanino L/R this is one heck of a lineup....do it Doug!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Rickie23Weeks
With Rowand looking like he is staying put in Philly, how about taking a look at Victorino? He can lead off, play CF, and is a switch hitter. Mench, Nix, and Hendrickson for him and a pitcher maybe?
  20. Rickie23Weeks
to SF: Jenkins, Hendrickson to MIL: Winn Jenkins could play RF for the Giants and Randy Winn is a natural CF and leadoff hitter with a career avg of .284, who also switch hits. They already have Roberts who can lead off so Winn looks like he would be expendable. CF Winn SS Hardy RF Hart 1B Fielder LF Hall 2B Weeks C Estrada 3B Koskie/Cirillo
