  1. Am I the only one who sees bed pans in the Las Vegas plan? LOL
  2. +1 I agree 100%, the worst part is the folks who look average-ish compared to their contemporaries but were actually clean and should have been among the best of the era.
  3. This really has nothing to do with a Buchholz trade, but dude's really gotta lose that mock turtleneck. I disagree! He can follow in Chuck Crim's footsteps.
  4. I'm glad someone else mentioned our rivalry with the Whitesox...I always hated them and would have to say that to this day they are my least favorite team in mlb...I would cheer for the Yankees or Cubs if they were playing the Whitesox.
  5. I think Greg's Home/Road splits should be mentioned since they are pretty severe this year and Petco is friendly to pitchers. Home: 1.64 ERA .211 Opp Avg Road: 4.75 ERA .314 Opp Avg

  8. I always call him Sir Ponson myself
  9. Reply in white: Are aliens so much less believable than a 600 year old knight?
  10. Our shortstops this year have posted a .306/.277/.583 line for the year good for 23rd best in the majors, while thirdbase has posted .313/.447/.760 good for 15th. While the third base obp is far too low it would look like shortstop is a larger area of concern at the moment than 3b. Perhaps moving Hall back there could be benifitial to the offense.
  11. at least platooning Branyan at this point would be helpful.
  12. Isn't our 1st baseman a lefty power bat? Yep our only one...and it sure isn't hurting the old o-fense is it? We need a lefty bat added to this lineup in a bad way.
  13. Gaudin, 25 years old 2007: 34/34 199.1 4.43era 154k/100bb 2008: 6/ 6 36.0 3.75era 26k/ 10bb Bush, 28 years old 2007: 33/31 186.1 5.12era 134k/ 44bb 2008: 6/ 5 29.2 6.98era 20k/ 14bb Gaudin has only really been exclusively a starter the last 2 years and while his walk totals were bad in 2007 it isn't out of the realm of possibility that a 24/25 year old will improve his walk rate. Gaudin also pitches in the AL which means he would benifit from facing the pitcher.
  14. Because it would be nice to have a lefty power bat in the lineup to help ease our absulute crapitude against RHP.
  15. I kinda have to figure that this would be a no brainer even if we had to include a good prospect as well...even more so if I could move one of our current corner OF for a good young SP as well.
  16. I would have no problem aquiring Gaudin if the price was relatively low simply because he can go deeper into games than 3/5 of our current rotation and will likely be an improvement of them as well. Matt
  17. It's not that hard to believe if they suck enough, and we give them enough. We'd be able to leave Braun down this year which is good, butwhat is Ensberg's contract like? If he is back next year can he play left to take Mench's spot in the platoon? He does crush lefties and its far more likely that Jenks would come back next year than Mench.
  18. I think Jones will end up staying put, and I wouldn't be overly excited about trading for an inconsistent Wells who likely would leave after next year anyway. Burrell has a no trade clause, though he said he would waive it for SF. That leaves Crawford. I translate this to mean you like Crawford the best. I would prefer to trade for the "inconsistent Wells" out of your options because he has more thump which is something I think we will need next year...at least more than Crawford's speed.
  19. Don't see why kids today need to be catered to such a degree. Because if you make it a family environment then more families will come and buy 4+ tickets. And 4 is more than 1 if Dad would have come by himself. So to review...it helps fill seats, filling seats is good.
  20. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes Produced for British television and shown on PBS and, I believe, still occasionally showing up on A&E. Starring Jeremy Brett as Holmes, these are probably the definitive adaptations of Conan Doyle's stories. Extremely faithful with Brett playing the part with a ton of nervous energy and a sharp tongue. Brett's portrayal is my favorite. Well worth seeing if you have the chance. I also enjoy Brett. I own most of the dvds.
  21. A walk by Jenkins...my goodness! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. Well he can't possibly be that bad next inning...look at it like a silver lining.
  23. Somebody must have killed the head vampire, Santos went through the first without a hitch. Nah, just picked up some decent sun block this year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. Dirrections and nearby hotels and restaurants would definately be a nice touch. Maybe even something basic about "must see" places as well. But then maybe I'm just getting carried away. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/pimp.gif
  25. I came over with the rest from ESPN back in the day...didn't post much there either. Matt
