  1. Best comment of the week. Anyways, am I the only one that's been pleasantly surprised by Milwaukee recently?
  2. Definitely the LA Dodgers. Always been a fan of Dodger Blue. And the A's.
  3. This division is a hot potato. "YOU take it!" "No, YOU can have it!" In either case, something's gotta be done about Capuano. This streak is obviously in his head and, no matter which way you put it, is definitely affecting Capuano mentally. No matter what pitcher you throw out there, if your team loses 15 straight games in which you start, some huge amount of negativity is going to run through your head. What about Seth McClung?
  4. Hey, on a topic related to bad Brewers players, we have a Chad Moeller sighting! Last night, he was traded to L.A. for cash considerations (at least according to Thom Brenneman, Reds announcer). He's already been optioned to the minors.
  5. If I'm a major league player, I'd want my manager to say something like, "hey, glad you scored from first, and I loved your plate discipline -- however, on the video replay, you slowed up in between first and second. Mind just watching the third base coach instead and trust his judgement?" I'd probably just say that it was a little mental error and it'd change for future at-bats.
  6. RUSH!! OF SALESMEN!!! Is Andrew WK really that awesome in concert? Apparently on 7/7/07, he was participating in a concert in New York with 77 drummers that was supposedly the sweetest and most amazing concert ever witnessed by some (not me, unfortunately). I've always wanted to see Andrew WK (and Girl Talk, too...).
  7. I just looked at an interesting stat that should be in the silver lining thread. The brewers have a 4.6 ERA on the road. That's not impressive in and of itself, however, the Crew has a 4.6 runs/game average. We're 21-31 on the road. Simply looking at those stats by itself, shouldn't we, if we were of normal luck, be playing .500 ball on the road?
  8. Nearly two weeks ago, I saw Chris Cornell play at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis... ...great show. I also really would like to see DJ Shadow, because he incorporates theatrics into his concerts. And Rush. RUSH!!
  9. DJ Shadow - Mr. Chicken Soul Seven Prefuse 73 - Pagina Seis Four Tet - Turtle Turtle Up Meat Beat Manifesto - Untold Stories Tortoise - Everglade Thelonious Monk - Epistrophy Spank Rock - What It Look Like Psychic TV - Abstract Reality (Godstar Movie Mix) John Coltrane - Straight Street Soundgarden - Switch Opens Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Moya DJ Shadow - Letter From Home Global Goon - Chime Time Zero 7 - In The Waiting Line Meat Beat Manifesto - Wildlife Bark Psychosis - The Black Meat Amon Tobin - Bridge Kraftwerk - Techno Pop ..And with the genius that is Kraftwerk, I'm going to stop. I'm surprised I didn't see my avid collection of Rush pop up.
  10. A: Turning IGTs into Jeopardy-style posts. Q: What doesn't work?
  11. I go to college right now -- I've been forced to take loans from day one. I figure that by the end of my undergraduate degree, I'll be about $15 grand - $25 grand in debt. I figure it'll pay for itself someday.
  12. Here's a great article detailing in statistics how the Brewers' first half has gone. Article on hardballtimes.com www.hardballtimes.com/mai...e-brewers/
  13. brewers.com says that it's going to be Sheets - Suppan - Capuano for the three game set against the Rockies.
  14. Just announced at US Cellular Field: Buehrle agrees to a 4-year contract extention with the White Sox.
  15. With Gwynn instead of Hall, what's wrong with this lineup? Hart Gwynn Braun Fielder Hardy Jenkins/Mench Estrada Weeks Pitcher That gives Prince some protection and we still have a *decent* amount of power in the lineup...
  16. Ann Carroll actually looks decent up in Eau Claire out of the studio. Skin looks much more softer and smoother and not caked in makeup. Of course, she looks like she's 12 years old sitting behind the big desk on a too-small chair. Why is she in Eau Claire? I haven't been watching the pregame show.
  17. He could also be injured. I don't like the thought that he could be getting traded soon, because Melvin doesn't like the idea of trading while a pitcher's value is low. Bush's ERA is over 5 this year, so his value isn't quite Sheetslike. I want to know if it's just Ned being stupid or if something IS happening, though.
  18. With more on the Prodigal Sorcerer picture, it's a 1/1 creature for 2U that has the "tap: Deal one damage to target creature or player" ability. I like it, but it's a crappy common card.
  19. Great game to be at last night. There were lots of Brewer fans near us and the place was loud after Jenks' GS. I'll be there again tonight, hopefully we can get one of the next two to take two straight road series against tough AL opponents. We may see some of you downtown before or after the game... Where were you sitting last night? I was in section 100 (in left field) and I loved all of the brewer fans right next to me. I'll also be at tonight's game, but I don't remember exactly where the tickets are. I know that they're in left field again somewhere. Lifetime, when I go to watch the Brewers, they're 5-1. I've got a good record. They'll win tonight.
  20. Without Nirvana there is no Pearl Jam, without Pearl Jam there is no Soundgarden. Not true. There was a grunge band back in the day called Mother Love Bone. They were awesome, and they were changing the shape of rock and roll. They contained Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, now of Pearl Jam. The lead singer, Andy Wood, died of a cocaine overdose (how surprising, eh?). Everybody was really sad, so Chris Cornell (Andy Wood's roommate at the time) joined with the rest of Mother Love Bone (and Eddie Vedder, to a point --he made an appearance or two) to create a tribute album -- Temple of the Dog. You've probably heard the song "Hunger Strike" before; that was their biggest hit. Anyways, "Black Hole Sun" is one of the top 5 songs ever recorded, and Superunknown is one of the top 10 albums ever recorded. Soundgarden's complexity wins. And Chris Cornell has an AWESOME voice, as opposed to Billy Corgan's annoying whimper.
  21. What pissed me off the most about tonight is that Cordero chose the absolute wrong time to be human for the first time this season. If he is human during the 9-1 homestand, I care not. But tonight, against the worst team in baseball, struggling as much as we are... God @#%$.
  22. I ruled out Minnesota because of the Vikings. Actually, Minnesota has a nice Packers bar in Uptown that I normally go to when the games aren't televised... And MLB.TV does the trick the two months of the year that school is in session over there.
