  1. Ken Griffey Jr once responded to some ribbing from my friend and I by calling us fat and pretending to eat his glove and some grass. This doesn't really make him a hot head, but it didn't make us any quieter if that was what he was trying to do, it just had the opposite effect. I think if you are giving it to a player and can't handle him giving some back then you should be quiet. Obviously on most occasions the player takes the high road but sometimes your emotions have to get the best of you they aren't robots after all. By the way Griffey was the most distracted professional athelete I've ever seen. He spent a better part of most innings keeping up our back and forth. And for the record thats the game the Brewers came back from 7 down to beat the Reds.
  2. ESPN wants its guys to say outrageous or stupid predictions to give them something to talk about. Kruk admitted a few years back when he picked the Pirates to win the NL Central that the producers wanted him to pick something else and he said no so they said okay then you're picking the Pirates to win the Central. So basically there is no reason to listen to who they think will win but they why is every once in awhile still informative.
  3. Wasn't that Steve Phillips who said that about asking why Macha didn't get tossed? So doesn't that ruin the statement from the get go? I'm not sure how Phillips got that job or who he has photos of but I would not be suprised if Orel ever got arrested for assualting him. And I do believe it was Phillips who also said that if Mauer got hurt all of America would be sad.
  4. I'm pretty sure I read in the minor league forum that Escobar would be seeing some playing time at 2nd base in the next few weeks. Not so they can call him up but so that if there are any more injures related to the position that he will be ready to help out. Maybe I read this in the ESPN article I don't recall right now or I would link it.
  5. Well if I found someones wedding ring in my front yard and they offered me $20 for it back. I guess the ring would be worth more to me so no chance I would give it back. Now I know that circumstances are different but they really aren't all that different. And to some people the feeling of doing the right thing would have to be accounted for something.
  6. I forgot to mention, possibly because I'm still shocked, but I can't believe that there is an actual leage for ball hawking. Really that just floors me. To each his own I guess but I for one don't get that at all. And after reading a few of these blogs I can't believe they can keep stats where you have to take guys like HY's word for it. Anybody who will lie, cheat, steal to get a ball I just can't see not padding thier stats.
  7. I just think asking for something from another player is in poor taste, what did Ramirez have to do with any of this. Ask whatever you want of the guy who hit the ball but leave it at that. And don't forget that HY after it was all said in done still held on to the ball and made Coghlan beg for it even after meeting his demands. I think that above anything else says all I need to know about the guy. I too hope that people realize this is one individual and Brewer fan's in large are nothing like him.
  8. nice work rulz. I don't think coming up to bat to Superstar all last year helped him out at all
  9. I disagree with that statement about Braun talking in cliches. Braun is one of the few guys who don't talk in total cliches while being interviewed. Thats part of what has lead him to be viewed as cocky. The other part is that he is somewhat cocky obviously. But it seems worse because he is one of the few athelets who actually say what is on there mind and don't just spew cliche after cliche. Hes called himself and his teammates out twice atleast in the media, he had that whole thing about payback with the Pirates. All in all part of the reason I lover Ryan Braun is that he isn't afraid to say whats on his mind and upset some people, like most athelets are.
  10. I'll just list the top 5 guys I look for in the box score everyday first. Not necessarliy because they are great prospects but for whatever reason they have become my favorites. Lucroy Gindl Wooten Rogers Lawrie and honorable mention to Scrapetta because of his strikeout potential
  11. I love this signing, very low risk. I am also on the bandwagon of people who think Gagne is a good guy and I think it really speaks to that, that he is coming back to Milwaukee. Besides the ticket giveaway I thought I remembered hearing that he had donated a ton of money to local charaties as part of promotions. Welcome back Eric
  12. there is just no way the brewer fans would ever boo CC after what he did for the organization. i for one figured he would not be back from the moment we traded for him. but after seeing what he did for the team i bought a CC jersey and promised myself if and when he comes back to pitch in Milwaukee i will go and give him a standing ovation. then hope he loses
  13. How many outfield assists is that now for Gindl? Hopefully he can avoid the near .300 slump this time.
  14. LaPorta just hit a 3 run bomb that traveled about a mile and a half off a pretty good pitcher from the Netherlands.
  15. I only read the first three pages I'll admit I couldn't take it anymore after that so excuse me if this has been said. People need to settle down this is not that big of a deal. Prince pushed Manny down thats it its not like he sucker punch him and stomped him into the dirt. For all we know Manny crossed the line and complained about the offense and/or Prince's defense. I agree this kind of stuff should never happen in the dugout but I'm sure it goes on quit a bit in the clubhouse, maybe not always phsyically. I've been on enough sports teams that have had guys get into disagreements here and there and some go too far. But for the most part unlike when girls are in disagreements guys get over these things real quick and no hard feelings last. I'm sure most of you if you have lived with your good friends have had a blow up here and there and managed to still be friends10 minutes later.
