I thought I would give an update on the layoff. The layoff went about as good as one could suspect. My manager is the one that delivered the news which helped me save face a little bit. I did have to drive an hour or so away at a mutual city to pick up his stuff he had at his house and deliver his stuff he had at the office back to him. I had a 10 minute chat with him. He said he could see the writing on the wall. He said he now has a chance to try something new and the only problem is the market in Oshkosh is definitely not Madison. He said having me as a reference is helpful. He's also going to try to three-peat my fantasy hockey league. He is a great worker on routine tasks that he was already an expert. However, he just lost all motivation at the end and really couldn't adapt to new types of work efficiently (including project managing). Ultimately, it's survival of the fittest and he got eaten by a lion. The new guy we hired a year ago is a more complete engineer. He's still green being only a year out of school but he is motivated and has potential to kill that lion.

I just went over to Padres Mission for the first time to see if I could get any fan insights. Unfortunately, it looks like that forum if not very active with regular members.

The workload at our engineering company is a little slower and it is definitely transitioning to be different than we was. We had a meeting yesterday about workload and it was concluded that some employees are getting laid off. Unfortunately, I'm one of the managers of one of these said employees. Professionally, I get it and it makes sense. Personally, they are also a friend and I don't know how I can pull the trigger. I had a suspicion he was looking because he was burning through his sick time (doesn't get paid out). It was confirmed last week as he applied to clients of ours who relayed the news back to us. Ugh...I really am not a fan of being a manager as I'm an introvert by nature.

Two weeks, I lost in fantasy by one point because Yordan Alvarez struck out in the last at bat on Sunday night. Last week, I lost by 9 despite scoring the second most amount of points in the league. Now with this Harrison scoring change, it will be a 10 point swing, so I would win by 1.

Since my mortgage has been paid off, I think my situation breaks the calculator. No matter the numbers I put in, it tells me that renting can save me $0/month. My property taxes alone cost me $830/month and utilities/insurance are probably another $400/month. I have no idea what my house would rent for...but I'm sure the payment wouldn't fit in my monthly budget. Paying off the house has made it so easy to just cash flow anything. I'm guessing the calculator is not accounting for this.

Wiemer has a BABIP of .500 this year with an oba of .413. Under the hood, his xwoba is .298. Last year his xwoba was .305. It seems Wiemer didn't figure anything out and he is just riding a small sample hot streak. He's also freshly available in my fantasy league. Someone else must be seeing the same thing I am.

Isn't 0/0 technically undefined? Just seeing that fraction brings back some bad memories of calc II.

Here is Mitchell's statcast summary: The all-or-nothing completely matches the smell test. He doesn't swing at bad pitches (high walk rate) but he swings so hard that he creates a hole in the zone (high whiff rate). If this were golf, I'd tell him to take an 80% swing (sacrifice some bat speed) to capitalize on speed asset. I can't see this hurting his overall offensive production. To throw a name out there from the past, these K/BB splits remind me of Adam Dunn. He obviously wasn't a fast player but knew how to draw his walks.

He's out of the Big 10 and now gives me another reason to root against Duke. I consider this a win. The only thing that would be better is if he somehow decided to come back to WI.

I went to a game at Joe Robbie or Pro Player or Dolphins Stadium in 2004 when I was 17...so I am no help. I did find this guide on Diamond Centric. Looks pretty useful. In a dream I had last night, this all worked out in the end. Turang got traded to the Pirates for Paul Skenes...straight up. It must have been in the future because it was the off-season. Pratt plays SS and Made moves over to 2b. Joey Ortiz didn't even make the dream, so it must be an omen that his days as a Brewer are numbered. In all likelihood, a lot of this could be true (except for Skenes). I did wake up excited about Skenes only to come to my senses and realize it was a dream.

I'm also curious about where the age where a fan streams vs has it part of a cable package. My gut says 50. I'm 38 and in my circle of peers, they stream. The only people that I know that have cable are older co-workers and my parents.

With Brewers.tv, I really like being able to have the radio synced with the video. This is especially nice at work where I can listen to the game and watch anything on replay or watch a big at bat.

My 5-year-old successfully did a clean fresh reinstall of windows on my work laptop without a password. I wasn't even logged into the PC.
