  1. "Glad Briggs is in this IGT, bringing some serious sense to the situation. And I love Frank's fire, even though he might be close to a ban they way this board operates." I think that's a compliment......yes I do get fired up about the Crew because I love the team and have since I was just a lad. I want to experience post-season baseball that I actually have a rooting interest in for the first time in my adult life so bad it hurts. And by the way, I APOLOGIZE FOR THE "FOOLS" COMMENT. Sometimes my emotions get the best of me. I'm really not a bad guy, just a passionate (and frustrated) Brewer fan like most on here. But I do hate Yost. No backing down from that.
  2. "I see you've been a member of this board for a grand total of about 10 minutes--Welcome! Way to make yourself comfortable. Forgive us for not flying off the handle when someone gets a day off and enjoy your time here where I'm sure you'll make many more great contributions like this one." You're right, my newbie status on this message board somehow diminishes what I have to say. I'm sure there is nobody outside of this online community that has anything worthwhile to say about the Brewers or baseball in general. I guess I'll just have to earn my stripes by being right.
  3. Offense looks great so far...... And enough with the Prince sitting vs the lefty is a good move.....his batting average vs lefties is .004 less than vs righties.
  4. I can't believe people are actually comparing their beer league softball activity to major league baseball. What a major REACH.
  5. "Do you think that our offense could be struggling because our guys are tired? Not everyone is like Cal Ripken." If our guys are tired at 23, I would hate to see what their stamina is like at 30....they might as well retire.
  6. "He gets one day off a month, is that really so terrible?" When they lose today scoring 3 runs (again), yes it will be. They Brewers will be out of 1st by week's end. Two more W's this week: when Cap & Yo take the mound.
  7. Since when is being young translate to needing days off? I thought old guys needed days off. Yost apologists are unbelievable. The lead is evaporating. Our best players are sitting. We have been struggling on offense. And the two sure things in the lineup have now sat in back to back games. Give me a break, the pathetic defense of Ned is just a joke.
  8. I can't believe some fools actually think sitting Prince in this situation is a good move. This is a big game. Losing 3 of 4 to the Reds (which would make it 8 of 11 vs the Pirates, Reds & Nats) is not something that playoff teams do. The eternal optimism is amusing. I can't wait to hear some of the replies after another loss in which they manage to squeak out another 3 runs. Take off the blinders.
  9. I can't believe Ned is actually sitting Prince.....his ineptitude never seems to amaze me. I guess he needs a "mental" break too. Hall is back now....is it too much to ask for our full lineup for the 1st time in over a month? It's almost like he's doing it to spite the fans. Unbelievable. A little sense of urgency please? And since when does "benched" = "leadoff"?.....Corey Hart goes in a 10 day slump and all of the great time he spent in the lead off spot might has well never have happened. Hey Ned: Rickie isn't going to snap out of it; not this year, maybe never. Here's to another 3 run offensive explosion and a 5-3 loss. I hate Ned Yost.
  10. A .500 road trip for a 1st place team vs two losing teams a combined 23 games under .500 is NOT a successful road trip, even for as bad a road team as the Brewers. Another Ned apologist emerges. Or perhaps you are Ned.......
  11. Don't insult me...I was at game 5 of the 82 ALCS....were you? Ever been to World Series game with the Brewers playing in it? I have. And I wasn't rooting for the Cubs. Just because I'm not wearing my Brewer blinders and can admit the obvious (the Cubs are a better team right now) doesn't make me a Cubs fan.
  12. Ned apologists, do your thing! The Brewers will NEVER win a thing with this clueless captain at the helm.....Man, Joe Torre would look good in a Brewer uniform next year!
  13. An ERA over 5; three "quality" starts since May 1st (2 of which he did the minimum to qualify = 3 ER in 6 innings); $9 million a year.......at least he's a 2nd half pitcher! I can't believe we're stuck with this pillar of mediocrity for another 3 years. Perhaps he would've been great in the post-season, but unfortunately the Brewers will never know....not this season anyways. I'll admit I was encouraged (not excited) when the Brewers signed Suppan, but wouldn't Gil Meche, Ted Lilly or Jason Marquis look good in a Brewers uniform instead? (Did I actually just write that?) Ahhhhh, hindsight! Gotta love the lineup tonight too.....who would ever think that the Brewers might actually have to score 5+ runs when their worst starting pitcher takes the mound? Not Ned of course. Sitting 3 of your top 4 or 5 offensive players (Braun, Hardy, Hart) was a great decision. Final score, 7-3. Everyone keeps saying that the Cubs aren't that good, that they can't keep winning etc......what if they are? I hope the Brewers don't give away too much talent before the deadline, because I believe it will all be in vein. The Cubs will be in 1st by the end of the week and will win the division, if for no other reason they can do something that the Brewers can't: win on the road. I'm hoping for the best, but the writing is on the wall folks. I'm through denying it. To all my Cubs fans friends, you win, I admit it.....they're better....for this season at least.

  15. :....is simply as bad as it gets. His unhindered loyalty to his players will cost the Brewers a post-season berth, just like it cost them the game last night. He doesn't even make it hard for us to tear his awful managing apart....he comes out and admits that he never considered removing Charlie V from the game last night......not after the 2nd walk, not after the 3rd walk, not even after the wild pitch that tied that game. This is evidenced by the fact that he didn't even have Balfour warming up until after the 3rd walk (did you see how hastily he was getting ready in the bullpen....whoops!)....by then it was too late. Does he even realize that in situations like that THE GAME IS ON THE LINE!!!! Is letting your young pitcher "work through it" more important at this stage than winning ballgames?!!?! Earlier this week when he "benched" Rickie (of course he's started twice since then) he had a quote along the lines of "at this point production matters." Practice what you preach Ned. This just in: YOUR TEAM IS IN A PENNANT RACE!!!! Manage like your trying to win today, not next year. The future is now Ned. Wake the "F" up!!!! I know it's become en vogue of late to bash the Ned-bashers, but let's get real. During his entire tenure as Brewers manager, Ned has consistently shown an inability to manage an in-game pitching staff while sends out questionable lineup after questionable lineup. As much as it pains me to say it, the combination of Ned's ineptitude, the Brewers' youth, and the Cubs' finally figuring out how to win with a $175 million payroll will prevent the Brewers from qualifying for post-season play yet again this year. And the travesty of the whole thing is Ned will likely be back next year so he can be loyal to a fault all over again. Every year with him at the helm is a year wasted with this young group that won't be around too long. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that we don't get swept this weekend by the lowly Giants. You can laugh at that statement all you want, but the pitching match-ups are not in our favor as Lincecum is pitching much better than he was when the Brewers saw him the first time and while Barry Zito is the most overrated, overpaid pitcher in baseball, he is still capable of pitching a gem (see earlier this week vs the Cubs). Bad times in Brewtown people......
