  1. What are the contract situations for those two?
  2. Let's not lose sight in this whole ugly business that Mota continues to plague us all, and that while Mota has been dormant recently, it can strike mercilessly and without warning. I'm very appreciative of Pedro's and everyone else's efforts to help rid us of this scourge once and for all. Together we can beat this thing. - Mota survivor May '08
  3. CC was downright filthy in the ninth. He earned that fistpump.
  4. If the Brewers get swept by the Reds at home, I'm gonna boycott them til next weekend. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I also need 50 more CCs of Sabathia, stat!
  5. Is it just me, or have the Brewers been especially feast/famine lately?
  6. Shouse may not be lockdown, but the Brewers have gotten tremendous value from him. Enrique, not so much value. I think the Molitor situation was the absolute worst. It took the better part of two decades to rebuild. In fact, I would say that the Brewers refusal to really rebuild was one of the biggest factors in their stagnation. That and miserly ownership. We had many good players that we traded and got nothing of substance for. Oh yeah, and try naming a great player the Brewers drafted that made a good impact on the big club. Not easy. There were a few decent players, but Rickie Weeks looks like the next Hank Aaron compared to most of those guys.
  7. Good thing the Mets didn't have Mota....Willie woulda been fired by game 9
  8. I have seen quite enough Guillermo Mota. This was a game we should have won. I will now leave to barf and get the taste of the Brewers out of my mouth.
  9. I hope most of these last few posts were supposed to be in blue.
  10. I also sorta miss the days when you could have a whole section practically to yourself. I hate that the "diehard Brewer fans" (drunks with tons of freshly bought gear) everyone celebrates bear no resemblance to the fans I know. When my dad was still alive he went to 50-60 games per year, mostly general admission or Uecker seats. Once we were almost tossed out of a game by MP security when standing behind the loge seating during a Cubs series. Prior was getting rocked, but unfortunately my dad's "obnoxious clapping" was bothering the Cub fans in front of us and an usher threatened to throw us out. When my mild-mannered dad protested, they got the guy in charge of the loge level and he threatened to throw my dad in the "brig." What a way to treat one of your most loyal fans. He was out there when you couldn't give Brewer tix away. I'm also mad that when we do hit the playoffs/series, I won't be there. I'm a poor college student, so I also buy the cheapies (Ueckers, Bernie's, upper deck seats) Some "big fan" who couldn't tell Matt La Porta from Matt Mieske will be occupying the seats I kept warm all those years, while I watch on TV. I also find myself staying away from big games, like Twins or Cubs series, cuz I just want to watch the game, not get into a pissing match with some drunken frat boy. End Rant. I feel cleansed. Phil
  11. I will probably be there in the upper deck. Quick question: If we buy a CC shirt and he leaves via free agency, are we compensated with two free shirts next year? Say a Villy and a Soup?
  12. Amen on the reliever. If anything happens to Torres, our bullpen looks like trash.
  13. I stand by my comment as it was based on more than the past days' events. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Like picking the Bucs to surpass the Crew by May last season.
  14. CNNSI = Bunk Who's in the Yankees' proposal, Jay Buhner?
  15. Agreed, SF. I am not 100% sold on this thing, but what do we have for starting pitching in the future? Not much in the immediate pipeline. Gallardo is coming off a major injury, Parra is young, and Soup is ordinary. It's doubtful we find the help we need on the free agent market, and even if Fielder can be moved for a young stud pitcher, you're always just an injury away from having a very ordinary staff. I like the Brewers' aggressiveness. The teams I grew up on couldn't have dreamed of such a move, and I trust DM, Gord Ash, and of course, Jack Z. to make the most of our picks. Just some food for thought while we await the Indians' decision.
  16. You don't build around Broxton, though he's good if you're CLE. No games to save if you can't score enough to ever have the lead.
  17. Gotcha. And count me in as one not sold on the Braun, Hart, LaPorta outfield. Maybe it works, as Braun is having some success, but OF defense is definitely not a strength there.
  18. End, isn't the consensus that his bat is ready now? I can't say, as I know little about the minor leaguers.
  19. Wow. Well we should know something soon. I almost hope we don't get C.C. I don't know what DM knows about future payroll, Sheets' return etc, however.
  20. 2am on the net...if that's work, I'd be a millionaire. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. The Badger Blogger told TH that we were getting CC for a bag full of Joe Dillon's bats.
