Make sure on away days you go to watch the team take bp at maryvale. did it today for the first time and it is the best -

Hitters were off all day. JJ had the only really great hit of the day off the left field wall, would have been gone at many parks. Lincecum is lights out. Bush was good but off most of the 2 innings. Is there really any differnece in any 4th or 5th outfielder in MLB. Trot Nixon, Gabe Gross, Chris Duffy etc. These guys are who we thought they were and no one is crowning anything in these situations. Trot had looked poor though for the last 3 days. Pretty lame day all in all. Heres the pics http://flickr.com/photos/7332217@N05/

I dont think loopers back is too serious more precautionary than anything. I was right there and as he talked to Castro its didnt seem life ending. The new tunnel in Maryvale makes it tougher to get graphs. Nick Green (i think thats his first name) looks good. Vinny Rottino is excited to play for Italy (small conversation). Did I say yesterday that it is great to see counsell with a normal batting stance and that chase wright is still BAAAAADDDD. Braun is Braun and by that I mean one of the nicest Brewers and one of the biggest mashing hitters in all of the game. I referenced him wearing # 75 2 yrs ago and he said "you know that wasnt all that long ago." It seems like he has been around for a minute. My dad said "Ryan were proud your a Brewer." He said "I love being a Brewer." If you a Crew Fan and havent made it down here yet start saving your money right now and get here asap. It truly is heaven on earth. I am having problems loading photos on here so here is a link to flickr to check it out (couple of looper throwing) http://www.flickr.com/photos/7332217@N05/sets/72157614515021829/

It really wasnt serious at all. I was right next to him when it happened. ( I will post pic tomorrow of him warming up). He stopped in mid warm up and from the talk between him and castro they were just being more cautious than anything. Rotoherb really put what I siad in better context. Just couldnt find the words to say it.

dont get me wrong I am a huge Escobar fan. And my criticism wasnt with his glove but more of his bat and the at bats that he had. When I look back on that statment it seems kinda harsh but I was just putting something together and was going on 22 straight hours without sleep. Hopefully that makes sense. His range is unbelievable but what I saw with the bat is far from league ready, but we all knew that coming in. I will have some more stuff posted tonight after todays game with the Angels. If anyon wants to see a specific picture of anyone just let me know and I will take a few for ya.

Swindles slow changeup is almost to slow to even believe. He threw it 3 or 4 times and it is slower than a knuckle ball. Escobar is good but just isnt that good yet. Thank god Counsell changed his stance because now I can handle watching him. Manny looked good. Prince looks smaller but he is still big. Cutter Dykstra will be fun to watch in Appleton. And Chase Wright is still horrible. Granted it is Spring Training but he got lit.

T minus 8 hours and counting -
I only caught a lil bit but was not impressed. Maybe it was because sometimes in those press boxes it sounds like listening to a highschool football game but his voice just didnt do it for me. He seemed very anxious and needs to slow down and talk less (hopefully that will cure with time). We have been blessed with great radio voices here in Wisconsin for sometime and I just dont see him staking up. Too much to ask? Maybe but my first impression is that we could have done better.

I see according to Mcalvys blog on the official crew site that the Brewers will have an intrasquad scrimmage with Parra throwing on March 4th. How would one go about finding what time that starts at? Thanks all -

no luck here either -
Personally I am pretty excited about the tournament. Gives us all a chance to see some competetive baseball early in the year. I would rather not see Gallardo throw for Mexico but I guess thats what you have to live with for the enjoyment of the tourney. Am I guessing that all the games will be available on MLB network so thats a plus rather then the few they had on ESPN the last time around. But aside from the injury standpoint are you guys excited or not? I must also admit that I am a sucker for hype so that may be a reason that I get jacked up for it.

I would guess that those guys will leave before March 1st though. Im thinking since I will be there on the 27th I will see no Braun. Any word on if Gallardo got the insurance thing setelld to play for Mexico? -

When will Braun and Gallardo leave spring training to go to the WBC? -
All good points my friends. As far as McClung goes why not use Villa as the emergency starter. McClung has the stuff to be lights out in the 8th and I just do not feel the same for Villanueva. It will be interesting to watch these arms in spring. Unfortunately at the end of my spring trip last year I was convinced that Vargas had pitched extremely well and he would be one of the five starters, so at times I think it revolves around a little more than results in spring.

Telly Hughes Takes Over for Trenni Kusnierek
Brew City Baseball Fan replied to HOF4canrake's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I never thought I would yearn for the days of Ann Carol. The only thing worse than having to deal with this chump was having to watch Yost in a postgame interview (or any interview for that matter). -
pretty good list her MU but I dont know why it seems like everyone is so tied to just having one "lefty specialist." While I dont know much about Swindle it would make sense to me to keep 2 guys. I also dont understand the fasination with Villanueva as the setup man, to me he is more of the 6th or 7th inning guy. I would like to see Mcclung take that job. He too valuable of a pitcher to be thrown into that long relief role because in the end that is nothing more than an innings eater to get you to the next day. I think this year as long as he is injury free you see Riske step his game up. Theres just something about that guy that makes me think he has got "it."
