For awhile, most topics involving pics of women and such have been blocked in order to keep this forum in high quality and such. But is there a way for the moderators here to create an outside link (like the political forums) in order for us guys to chat it up about such things?

The Racine Journal-Times' Gery Woelfel's newest column rips on the Bucks for lack of moves prior to the trade deadline. I believe ESPN may have copied their story from Woelfel's column because his column has an uncanny resemblence to the ESPN link. Here are the uglier points Woelfel has mentioned in the column that makes the Bucks season look really horrendous: + The Bucks have lost four straight, seven of their last eight and 14 of 18. + The Bucks lost to an average Toronto team by 31 points. + They lost to a below-average Philadelphia team by 43 points. + They lost not once but twice to the putrid New York Knicks - and, on both occasions, they squandered 17-point leads. + They were absolutely annihilated in their two games against the Detroit Pistons: 114-69 (that's a 45-point spanking) and 117-91 (a "mere'' 26-point thrashing). His column clearly cites that Herb Kohl has WAY too much control over even the on-the-court operations, which is deeply concerning. Several players and other Bucks' personnel contend it wasn't Krystkowiak's decision to abandon the triangle (offense). In their minds, he was instructed to change the offense and that the mandate came from Bucks owner Herb Kohl. There is also some locker room disagreements that has turned the team upside down, which means that Coach K and his staff have completely lost control of the team: There are also profound issues with the coaches and players. Sparks have flown in the locker room on a couple occasions this season, including a heated, post-game exchange between point guard Mo Williams and assistant coach Tony Brown. I knew this situation was going to happen. No one knows their roles on the team and pretty much everyone from top to bottom of the organization deserves the blame. Kohl has completely annihilated this team and Harris pretty much does not know what to do as a result and it has trickled down to the coach and players. This team needs a major overhaul from top to bottom. Woelfel pointed this out: There have been some other not-so-pleasant 'debates'' between the players and coaches. Even with the season more than half way over, issues pertaining to playing-time, rotations and the type of offense that should be run - whether it should be centered around Bogut, an exceptional passer for a big man, or it should be predicated on the perimeter shooting of Redd and Williams - have inexcusably yet to be resolved. The players have essentially quit on Krystkowiak: How the offense should be run, and the uncertainty regarding those other issues, have prompted some players to privately question Krystkowiak. They wonder whether he is simply too inexperienced for the situation. With all of the points Woelfel has made, why in the world did Kohl allow all of this to happen when pretty much it was totally inevitable from even last summer? This team has too many me-first shooters and players who can't play defense. I was skeptical when they immediately made Krystkowiak as the permanent head coach and was even more skeptical as to why Kohl decided to hire Larry Harris as GM, when he did not have any legitimate front office experience. It is almost like Kohl was looking for a bunch of puppets to play with and it has exploded in his face. Kohl should hire a more experienced GM and allow him to make moves and keep his hands off the team completely. It is just plain awful.

Tom Haudricourt has published the first "battler" story of Spring Training by featuring new catcher Jason Kendall. Kendall known as battler at the plate "He fits in nice in our lineup, he really does," Brewers hitting coach Jim Skaalen said. "He's a fighter, scratcher, clawer, battler. I like seeing that."

Howdy. I am just wondering how much the campus at UW-W has changed since I last took a class there about 2 years ago. I took a break from school for awhile and am going to try going back in September to finally get my degree in journalism (I am about a full semester away credit-wise from getting the degree). But what is going to be really awkward is that I am going to be in classes with 18-19 year old freshmen and I will be 26 by October and I also won't know anyone in my one remaining class for my public relations minor. The only requirements I have left are a one credit "gym class", public relations planning (the remaining class) and a five credit science lab or three credit math class. The last time I was at UWW was a few years ago when the campus looked like a train wreck (the UC was being renovated or something and the entire center of campus was blocked off). By the way, if anyone attended UWW between the Spring of 2003 and Fall of 2004, you may remember my lovely sports stories in the Royal Purple as I served as the sports editor of the newspaper.

I have been looking for a cheap car for a few weeks now. I have been without a vehicle for about a year now and I lost my previous car in a total loss accident and made payments on the car, and my credit rating has taken a beating since I was approved for the loan about 3 years ago so I won't exactly qualify for any loans for a newer car. Does anyone know of anyone that is selling a crappy beater car for $1,000 or below that can last me at least a few months?

Northern Illinois University Shooting (Update: 6 fatalities)
jaybird2001wi replied to wOOgiE22's topic in Off-Topic Forum
I just realized something. Back when I was a sophomore at UW-W, I applied as a transfer student to Marquette, Carthage and Northern Illinois University. I got accepted to all three, but when I found out my cousin from Zion/Beach Park, Ill. was an alum from there, she decided to try to hook me up with a scholarship. Turns out that based on the academic plan NIU gave me, I would have been ON CAMPUS at the time of the shooting (I am 25 and NIU decided UW-W credits were not worth transferring over). Man, one decision nearly five years ago can make you really think now. Three reasons I decided not to go to NIU were a) The dorms were ultra-small and rat holes, b) they wanted to start me "fresh" as a freshman even though I would have been a junior in the UW system at the time, c) although my cousin did the best she could, the tuition would still be insanely high as an out-of-state student. But as a person who worked with NIU alums at my last internship, it kind of makes me think about things. No University or College can be 100 percent effective in combating these situations. As tough as this may sound, no one can really anticipate these kind of things even if they have an effective plan of action in place. But the one thing I am interested in learning about this situation is if the gunman had a FOID card (Firearm Owner ID card) which is mandated by Illinois law, heck even Tank Johnson formerly of the Bears got busted for not having one. But if the gunman did not have one prior to his suicide, who was the person who provided the guns to him in the first place? But based on my understanding of Illinois law (I had to learn it in my internship) a person who possesses a FOID card can be exempt from law if a police outfit were to pull them over on a routine traffic stop and find guns in their possession. FOID cards are issued based on a person's criminal history and mental health history. If the known assailant had three firearms and killed (NOW 7 FATALITIES) and did not have a FOID card, Illinois State Police can trace the firearms back to the original owner based on serial numbers on the guns. If this is the case, the person who was once the original owner and did not report the guns as stolen could be held liable for the shootings based on civil and criminal courts. If the person was indeed issued a FOID card without any regard for his past (if he did indeed had a history), the person who issued it could be held liable. But based on my observations as a news intern, Illinois does have strict laws in regards to gun control (ie: Tank Johnson's guns were licensed or certified in the state of Arizona and were not in Illinois, so hence, he faced Illinois State Laws for failing to apply for a FOID card). This could be a lengthy investigation by the Illinois State Police. -
Devin Harris, pack your bags... Kidd to Mavs

Why in the world is George creating ill will and hatred by his own fans for being so dumb as to block a deal to send him to New Jersey? Is he that dumb? He isn't exactly the centerpiece of the deal and yet I am dumbfounded as to why he is being dumb. And this quote from his agent takes the cake: Before his flight to Dallas, Bartelstein told ESPN.com by phone: "We're not trying to block anything. The issue is that if he agrees to this deal, he has to give up his Bird rights. To lose that tool in today's world of free agency is a difficult thing to do."First off, what team in their right mind would even pay a man who has averaged a shade under six points a game since 1999? Not to mention he has averaged 18 minutes a game. George is being an idiot. He is not good at all and yet he thinks he is. Look at his fabulous stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/stats?playerId=267 -
Braun donates ROY bonus to Habitat for Humanity
jaybird2001wi replied to patrickgpe's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
The Brewers didn't release this. It was Habitat for Humanity that decided to make a news release about this. As JJHardy said above, this was to further Habitat for Humanity's presence in society in hopes of garnering more support for the org. -

Darn it all. Is this some kind of record for solving this thing? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif -
This may be an unusual game, but it can be fun. I am going to list 10 cars/trucks and think of the first Brewer that comes to mind when seeing the name of the vehicle. It can be based on personality of the player or the wear and tear of the player based on durability. 1. 1979 Ford Pinto 2. 2001 Ford Escort 3. 1992 Ford Taurus 4. 1997 Chevy Lumina 5. Lamborghini 6. 1991 Honda Civic 7. 2007 Saturn Aura 8. 2004 Pontiac Grand Am 9. Newer Harley Davidson motorcycle 10. Ford F150

It appears that Jason Kidd will be going back to the team he started his career with as the Mavs are sending Harris and Jerry Stackhouse, among others to the Nets for Kidd. This deal actually could make the Nets much better as they are receiving more solid players for Kidd and Harris along with Stackhouse teaming up with Vince Carter could make the Nets much better.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that 15 students were arrested, including one for obstruction after striking a police officer. They say that just under 30 face suspensions. This is the second time Bradley Tech has faced bad publicity. Remember the brawl after a basketball game last year? Maybe MPS should review Tech again and see if there are patterns of violence at the school. When I was in high school, there was always two or three off-duty Racine Police officers that ran security at my school and there was a direct line of communication between them, administration and the police station in case anything got out of control.

How to vote in the Wisconsin Primary...
jaybird2001wi replied to twobrewers's topic in Off-Topic Forum
It is quite possible to vote twice in Wisconsin. I remember hearing a story of an Illinois college student attending a University of Wisconsin school receiving an absentee ballot from its home county in Illinois and still able to register in the college town he/she attended. -
How to vote in the Wisconsin Primary...
jaybird2001wi replied to twobrewers's topic in Off-Topic Forum
Whenever I voted in Presidential and local elections, I didn't check off a total one party vote. I sometimes mixed my votes between the GOP and DNC. -
At my old high school, Racine Park, I witnessed a couple girl fights and they fought dirty and there was a fight that resulted in a girl getting her eye busted. One of the most extreme fights happened outside during fifth period when a juvenile delinquent who had a life of crime fought another kid and used brass knuckles to pummell the kid. My high school wasn't even the worst public school in Racine (JI Case was worse as they integrated the country bumpkin kids and inner city kids through bussing and my HS was more of a neighborhood where we knew each other).

How to vote in the Wisconsin Primary...
jaybird2001wi replied to twobrewers's topic in Off-Topic Forum
It is fairly easy to register to vote. I have registered to vote in two different cities (once in Whitewater when I was a student at the old Armory building and also once in my hometown, Racine. I even voted absentee a few times when I began my schooling at UW-W and lived in the dorms.) All you need is a photo ID (State ID preferred 99 percent of the time), a utility bill (electric, etc.) or if you don't have a utility bill, you can bring in a cell phone bill with the address. It also helps to know your polling place because sometimes people get confused and go to a different polling place. But I was ineligible to vote in Racine during one primary election (sometime in April) because I recently voted for President in 2004 in Whitewater and still had an address in Whitewater, so be careful when changing addresses and know your living situation timetable. -
Yep, I work 40 hour weekends. I "volunteered" to be the sacrificial lamb on weekends since we are short handed on third shift and I am the only one willing to work thirds every weekend. I am starting to hate the 40 minute ride to work (Racine to Muskego), so I would like to get something closer.
-
I usually sleep for long periods every Monday night since I work almost nonstop double shifts on weekends. I work Fridays 10pm until Saturday 4pm and then Saturday 11pm until 9am Sunday and then Sundays 11pm until 4pm Mondays, so I just have a bad sleep pattern. It usually takes a whole day for my body to get back to normal, which I why I am typing this at nearly 8:30am and am trying to get my stomache ready for a day of eating.
-
Well, I just slept through the whole morning/day/night after being awake for more than 24 hours (work 17 hours). Makes me upset, has anyone ever slept 20 hours or more?

Lary Sorensen, former Brewer pitcher, was arrested in Detroit for having a blood alcohol content of .48 percent. I remember a coroner in Waukegan, Ill. telling me the likely fatal BAC level is .35 or .375 depending on body mass indexes. Wasn't he involved in the trade to St. Louis for Vuke, Simba and Rollie back in 1981? Makes me wonder how much drinking really went on in the Brewers' clubhouse during those days.

I jumped the gun a ton and e-filed my income tax return a little over a week ago and already received my Tax refund from the State and just now I logged onto my online banking and noticed they already deposited my federal. I now have $1,400 and here is what I did with it thus far: 1) Paid off an outstanding ticket in the City of Franklin dated November 2006 for driving my car with an expired registration. $83.80. 2) Paid off an outstanding ticket in the City of Racine dated January 2007 for the same offense. $94.90 3) Will finally attend my "class" so I can get my drivers license back. $200-300? 4) Splurged and bought a DVD, Third Watch: Season 1, on Amazon.com expected to be in my mailbox by Saturday. 5) Transfer about 600 bucks into a savings account as a "nest egg" for when I want to finally get another car. Maybe a down payment on a newer car or to buy a crap box car outright depending on my credit score. 6) Maybe purchase couple more DVDs or transfer another $250 into an interest-laden account and let it sit for a long time. 7) Joined match.com and put down a one-time fee of $100 for the next six months because I am currently looking. Everyone is getting an "economic stimulus rebate" in April or May right?

I take back what I said about this being a good deal for the Suns. They already have a center in Amare and they just traded Steve Nash's only backup at PG and give up Shawn Marion, who is a better player than Shaq by himself at this point. The Heat get Marion, who is a PF, but may have to be an undersized center because they don't have any alternatives at that position. They also get Banks, who is a solid reserve. Not to mention the Suns have an injure prone guy already, Grant Hill.
-
The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat have agreed to terms of a trade sending Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to Miami for Shaq. In my opinion, this trade looks good for both teams. It gives the Suns a big man to work with Nash and Amare Stoudamire while the Heat get Marion to work with Dwyane Wade. The deal is pending a physical, which Shaq is flying to Phoenix to take at this time.
