Ginger Jordan has been in the windy city for quite awhile since leaving Kiss FM 103.7 and as game host of Brewer games at Miller Park. Does anyone miss Ginger Jordan as much as me? Does anyone believe she did a better job than Sandy Maxx? She is actually one of my myspace "friends" because she adds anyone who wants to add her. I am not even sure if it really is her, but her photo gallery shows a lot of personal pics of her vacations and stuff, so I think it is legitimate. The game host deal the Brewers created is kind of cheesy to begin with, but if anyone had to make a choice, would it be Jordan or Maxx? I personally think Jen Lada would be the perfect candidate to be an in-game host if she ever were to leave Fox 6 or join WTMJ (which basically is more of an "official" Brewers TV station since 620 WTMJ does Brewer games). So here are your choices: A) I miss Ginger Jordan, bring her back and she is better than Sandy Maxx B) Sandy Maxx is good, keep her on C) Give Jen Lada a shot D) Get rid of the Game Host Completely Speaking of myspace.com, I think I may have discovered Bill Hall's real myspace page...

Has anyone ever participated in a pre-game tailgate party inside Miller Park with the full catering menu? I have been thinking of asking some friends or maybe pitching the idea to my company as a "summer party" for the regular staff members of my company, like myself. I am looking at the menu and the choices look good.

danzig, I too have thought hard and long about moving out of state. I have a friend who lives in Cincinnati and he told me they have shorter and less harsh winters down there (so short that they cancel schools with just one inch of snow). I drove down there a few years ago to visit him on the Xavier University campus and Cincinnati seems like an okay town. I wouldn't mind the Ohio Valley region. I also have a cousin who lives in San Francisco, but that is a last resort for me. I was going to move to Oceanside, CA this month, but my high school buddy had a hard time helping me find a job down there and his friend didn't move to Phoenix (which meant no spot for me on the lease). I interned in Lake County, Ill. (Waukegan) and had a chance to travel around the Chicago suburbs and wouldn't be opposed to moving to Joliet, Glen Ellyn or Naperville. I guess I just have to wait it out and find a job of opportunity. I don't really have any emotional tie downs in Wisconsin so if I was given an opportunity to move tomorrow, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

I remember the Laurie Depies case a lot. I was like 8 or 9 at the time of the missing persons report being aired on television. I always wondered how far along the investigation is at this point. That case is about as cold as a frozen pond right now. In Racine, Sheriff's investigators are still holding out hope of identifying this person found near Burlington in 1999. It went as far as the Lake County, Ill. coroner attempting to assist Racine county in this case, but nothing could ever be uncovered.

I am not sure if this would fall in with the Mitchell Report topic, but lets just say for hypothetical cases, a ballplayer from the 80's was suspected of using cocaine or running a meth lab. I understand there was a major congressional hearing in 1985 or 1986 involving Keith Hernandez, Mookie Wilson, et. al for cocaine. Would players face legal issues if they were once found to be in possession of narcotics in the 80's, early 90's?

Has anyone ever wondered what past obscure Brewers are up to these days? Most notably "prospects" who never panned out or guys we traded for that never panned out? I also always wondered what happened to guys who had injury histories that had their careers cut short. Here is what I have knowledge of former Brewers: 1) Pat Listach - Manages Cubs AAA team in Iowa 2) Kyle Peterson - Was an ESPN color commentator during College World Series 3) Matt Mieske - Hitting coach somewhere in the minors. 4) Doug Henry - former UW-Whitewater pitching coach, was arrested in Oshkosh during a melee between UWW and UWO when he punched a freshman baseball player of UW-Oshkosh. Now is the pitching coach for the Class A Braves team. 5) Dave Krynzel - retired? 6) Nick Neugebauer - retired, but what does he do now? 7) Mark Ciardi (former pitching prospect in the 80's) - now is a movie producer, produced the movie, "The Rookie" starring Randy Quaid. Here are some obscure Brewers I don't know about: 1) Marc Newfield 2) Mike Felder 3) Glenn Braggs 4) Teddy Higuera 5) Antone Williamson 6) JM Gold

My criteria on the cities is basically crime rate, things to do, number of sex offenders, cost of living and also the employment status of each city. Racine has the highest crime rate per capita in the state, the only thing to do is drink at bars, sex offenders are saturated in one area of the city and property taxes are high along with the worst jobless rate in the state. What is everyone's top 10 worst sports moments in state history? Worst historical moments in state history?

I have been thinking of the Best/Worst Top 10 in Wisconsin for quite some time and here is what I think about in regards to the Top 10 in random categories: Top 10 tourist attractions/events: 1) Wisconsin Dells - Native American history is prevalent and the Ducks give a nice tour during the summer 2) Packer Hall of Fame/Lambeau Field 3) Summerfest 4) Door County 5) Hunting in northern Wisconsin during the Thanksgiving season 6) Lake Geneva - in the summer when it is warm, good for boaters 7) Madison Capitol Building, Madison in general 8) Miller Park 9) Downtown Milwaukee 10) Camp Randall Stadium Top 10 Greatest Athletes of All-Time: 1) Brett Favre 2) Hank Aaron 3) Robin Yount 4) Bart Starr 5) Oscar Robertson 6) Paul Molitor 7) Crazylegs Hirsch 8) Eddie Mathews 9) Warren Spahn 10) Junior Bridgeman Top 10 Best Cities/Spots for people under 30: 1) Milwaukee - Eastside 2) Milwaukee - Brady and Farwell 3) Madison 4) Appleton 5) La Crosse 6) Green Bay 7) Sun Prairie (lot of my friends from college now live there for some reason) 8) Brookfield 9) Don't know 10) Don't know Top 10 Worst Cities: 1) Racine 2) Beloit 3) Milwaukee (the bad parts) 4) Janesville 5) Kenosha 6) Waukesha (my boss says Waukesha stinks) 7) Whitewater (nothing to do on weekends and you'd lose your mind if you are over 25) 8) Waupun 9) Appleton (somehow weird crimes and unsolved homicides occur here) 10) Fitchburg (a coworker of mine says strange people live here)

I hate to sound like George Costanza here, but here it goes: "I am single, 25 and live with my parents." For a long time I have been thinking of moving to another state or even a new city for that matter. Racine is not getting better, I wouldn't be opposed to moving to the western Chicago suburbs or maybe the Ohio Valley region (Cincy, Dayton and my best friend lives in Cincinnati right now). But the thing is, all I need is to find a job at the new place where I plan to move. Any ideas?

paul, you are one of the millions in line for Ivanovic right now. She looks cute even when she is playing. Plus, I never knew something good can come from Serbia, the little known country between Russia and Europe. But since this forum bans ALL women pictures and such, I will not post ANY pictures of her for the good of the forum. I just loved her reactions after each game point she won. The third set was a total battle, going into a sixth deuce. This match actually made tennis exciting to me, and it seemed like EVERYONE was pulling for Ivanovic during the match. Hantuchova blasted the officiating and called Ivanovic's "shoe shuffle" leading to "squeaking" distracting. ESPN.com mentioned Hantuchova didn't even want to shake hands with Ivanovic at the end of the match.

Seeing as how Geoff Jenkins signed with Philadelphia, I have a Geoff Jenkins Pepsi promotional bobblehead in my possession. Now I find it odd and useless having it now. I used to have a great symmetry with my Uecker, Yount, Molitor, Sheets and Jenkins bobblehead. I always have the Uecker one as the center with Yount and Molitor on each side of Uecker and then Sheets and Jenkins on the sides of Yount and Molitor, so it essentially goes: Jenkins, Yount, Uecker, Molitor, Sheets. I got the Sheets bobblehead during the All Star game festivities while the other four were obtained by collecting Pepsi proofs of purchase. Now it looks funny to me with the Jenkins bobblehead. I just set it way aside from the rest of them because it just seems out of place to me. What to do?

I am not sure if anyone is a tennis fan, but this is the first Major tennis tournament I have ever taken quite an interest in since the Agassi-Sampras dynasty in the 1990's, but this time I am more interested in the female circuit. Was there ever a time when a ton of 20-something female tennis players were so dominant and had high prospects? I actually stayed awake until 2am watching the Women's semifinal between Daniela Hantuchova and Ana Ivanovic last night. Ivanovic and Sharapova facing off against each other for the Championship. Because a lot of these type of topics get blocked because people post pics of these athletes, I will choose to base this topic based on ABILITY rather than looks (although, I am in love with Ivanovic). Ivanovic is like Maria Sharapova lite. She displayed so much mental toughness after losing eight straight games against a veteran Hantuchova last night and prevailing to win the match. She gained a lot of control and poise later in the match, and was the first women's match to go to a third set in the entire tournament which caused a ton of excitement. The only thing Ivanovic seems to struggle at is she isn't the best server on the court and had a lot of faults.

Heath Ledger, 28, found dead in New York apartment...

I will always remember him as the guy who once dated Naomi Watts of "Mulholland Drive" and "The Ring" fame. He was actually one of the very few young actors who didn't fit the norm of being troubled by any means. This news came out of left field. Never even knew he was into drugs. Drugs may have been a factor, but it could have been accidental or something. -
paul, I know what you mean. I work in Muskego, just a minute from Hales Corners (like a 10 minute walk to Hwy 100 and Forest Home) and it seemed like every road was terrible today. I work for a private state company in Milwaukee County specializing in group homes. I had to ride along in a company van on Forest Home to 60th St to Burnham to get to the Regional Office for an inservice training session. The van almost skidded into a ditch several times. It was terrible. I saw plows riding the roads, but they didn't even have the plows down and I didn't see ONE salt truck in use the entire 1 hour I was in the vehicle.

Bob Slydell: You see, what we're actually trying to do here is, we're trying to get a feel for how people spend their day at work... so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you? Peter Gibbons: Yeah. Bob Slydell: Great. Peter Gibbons: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour. Bob Porter: Da-uh? Space out? Peter Gibbons: Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work. ----------------------------- Peter Gibbons: The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care. Bob Porter: Don't... don't care? Peter Gibbons: It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my ass off and Initech ships a few extra units, I don't see another dime; so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Bob: I have eight different bosses right now. Bob Slydell: I beg your pardon? Peter Gibbons: Eight bosses. Bob Slydell: Eight? Peter Gibbons: Eight, Bob. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled; that, and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired. ------------- Office Space is the greatest movie ever. I sometimes feel like Gibbons when I am at work. I do just enough to not get fired.

Anyone know any good cures for a hangover? I am 25 and I used to be able to stick around until bar time when I was 21 and 22 and was actually able to wake up bright and early the next morning with no major issues. Now I feel like a mac truck hit me and it takes more than a day to recover. Anyone know of any home remedies?

Here is a fast fact... when the DH was added to the AL in 1973, the Brewers first ever DH was Ollie Brown. The American League bores me a little bit because of the DH. No strategy and if a player can only hit, but not field, he is not a baseball player... he is just a hitter.

I have been watching the news lately about the Bucks upcoming season and have noticed that our once-embattled first-round pick has been one of the most involved people in regards to "PR photo ops." I seem to remember him walking around Milwaukee neighborhoods with the fire department as part of "Fire Safety Week" early on and then recently he was spotted handing out books to schoolchildren for yet another community event. I just looked at some of the blogs on jsonline.com and here is one quote that kind of confuses me: I don't know if Yi was just being a total lackey for his agent, Dan Fegan, during negotiations, but it seems like he may be coming into his own or at least has some interest in Milwaukee.Maybe Desmond Mason can give him a nice tour of the City, since Mason is the only Buck that voluntarily lived in Milwaukee year-round. I also think the whole "Asian demographic" was a moot point from the get-go. Although there isn't much of an Asian population in Southeast Wisconsin, I think the Northern Wisconsin Hmong community could latch onto Yi, thus creating a little more marketing efforts in Northern Wisconsin. I also noticed in the "Welcome to the States, Yi" deal at Chicago's O'Hare airport that there was a large contingent of Asian fans greeting him. If Yi is fascinated by Lake Michigan and our river(s), maybe this will encourage him to stay a little longer once the season ends so he can enjoy some of the activities in the spring.

Well, it is now officially the boring days of fall. The leaves are falling, temperatures are falling and it seems like I am starting to get my annual head cold sickness due to the temperature change. What does everyone like to do during the fall to pass the time? I used to prefer quiet nights at home watching DVDs but now it is becoming more bored than not actually watching DVDs. I always thought it would be cool to go on a fall hiking deal somewhere in Racine/Kenosha. Kenosha has Petrifying Springs, where I could just ask to be dropped off and just hike for a few hours and have food/water handy. I never really went hiking in all my life. What exactly does one need to be a hiker? I figured fall is the best time to hike since you will be able to see the beautiful fall foliage and the temperatures are not as bad. The winter time seems much more boring since snow is on the ground and pretty much everyone discourages winter driving, so people are basically left to be themselves inside. I have also wondered if it is possible for me to become a volunteer at the local public library and read to schoolchildren or at a senior citizen home and be a bingo caller. Anyone know of any places to do this? I might ask the local bar if they got any roster spots open for future bowling leagues so I can bowl a couple nights a week for competition.

Bankrate.com just did a little article on the Top 10 little expenses that add up. I kind of figured that the top 3 would be coffee, cigarettes and beer. I spend about 20 bucks on cigarettes alone and I usually buy canned coffee where I make the coffee myself to save money... but even that adds up. I usually buy the generic brand canned coffee for about $5 which is good for about 10 pots of coffee. Now I am finding myself skimping on beer and buying Old Milwaukee to offset some costs that I incure at the bar at night. All of these purchases make me think about what I spent my money on. I could have had an additional $2,000 in my wallet if I didn't waste it all on some of the mentioned items.

I have always wondered if any of you Brewer fan faithful have any favorite teams in other sports outside of Wisconsin? Prior to the Brewers switch to the National League, I always had the Cubs as my National League team, but when they made the move... I chose the Brewers all the way because I was born the very same month and year the Brewers went to the World Series. I will never turn my back on the Brewers. For some odd reason, I kind of have an interest in the Mets because the year I started collecting baseball cards, in 1988 when I was six years old, I always liked Mets baseball cards for some reason. Outside of baseball, I will always be a Notre Dame Fightin' Irish football fan. Although I have a "Wisconsin duty" to at least like the Badgers, the Irish will always be my college team. I started following College Football around 1990 when Notre Dame was just coming off a National Title two years ago with one of my favorite football coaches of All-Time, Lou Holtz. I just love the tradition of Notre Dame, with Tim Brown and Joe Montana coming from South Bend and also the Four Horseman. Not to mention my Aunt moved to South Bend around the same time I started following the team and even demanded to drive down there when I got my drivers license just to check out the Touchdown Jesus mural. Oh, and I will always have the movie, "Rudy," in my heart. Although, I have hated what the football program has become. Just utterly frustrated. I could go on a wild tangent over why Notre Dame should have never given Holtz the freedom to leave. For the NHL, I kind of have an interest in the Blackhawks. But they simply frustrate me ever since they decided to make a deal with the devil and send Chris Chelios to their most-hated rival (and probably one of the top historical rivalries in all of sports) the Detroit Red Wings. My diehard Packer fan status has gone down to lukewarm after spending time as a news intern in Chicago Bears' country in Waukegan, Ill. I even had a chance to meet a few players during some of the "photo op" PR deals and they all seem like decent people. Made me realize and understand the whole Jerry Seinfeld joke, "We don't cheer for the players, we cheer for the uniform. A good guy for our favorite team gets traded to another team. Him in our team jersey, good. Him in another team, jersey... bad."
