  1. "How about that pickup by Ryan Howard" ... huh? An easy ground ball.....much like an earlier guy who's listening to the Doors, I think it's time for Dark Side of the Moon.
  2. cnycerveros - who is that picture by your name? It looks really, really familiar....or maybe it doesn't.
  3. Why are they still talking about Cole Hamels when he's not even pitching right now?
  4. "so you're saying there's a chance?"......... Cmon crew...only really have the seventh and eighth now.
  5. Smoltz best quote of the day...."If you stop scoring any runs, it's hard to win." Can I have your job?
  6. that first "strike" for counsell? I can't figure out this strike zone. It doesn't only suck, it's not consistent.
  7. I swear to God, I feel like we're watching a game with Phillies announcers. I can't wait to see em with Sabathia - although the whole time they'll be saying "he's gonna leave next year, he's gonna leave next year."
  8. i also gotta agree with the earlier call about philly fans....brutal.
  9. did you see the look on yo's face after that ball 3 call to rollins? How annoyed did he look????
  10. that first pitch to braun was a ball all inning for yo. I don't usually whine about umping, but c'mon.
  11. wow i just discovered the bottom of a seed bag is REALLY salty.
  12. That ball looked pretty close to being a strike....hmmmm
  13. I've always thought that Cameron's rep is SO overrated. It's as though guys just know that he's won gold gloves, so he must be great. He takes bad routes to balls and just doesn't get called for errors because he doesn't really get to balls away from him. I mean, what kind of route was that??
  14. Damn these guys are absolutely brutal. I feel like we're watching a Phillies home broadcast. Could they be any more partial? If Smoltz thinks Yostie is so great, get out of the booth and go hang out with him. I absolutely guarantee we would not be playing this game without Sveum taking over. I hope he's back next year.
  15. The collapse the second time around is just awe-inspiring. It really is like watching a car accident in slow motion. I just pray that we learn from this one by sending Yost packing. Can you imagine the outcry if he comes back? I mean these losses aren't even close, that's the really sad part. Predictions for Yost's postgame comments? not looking at teams behind us.....keep battling......stay positive.......stick with these guys.....and all the while being totally condescending while he's doing it. God forbid, we as fans might peek in our neighbor's windows when they're fighting. Obviously our neighbor's are on vacation and may not come back for a long, long time.
  16. I'm gonna guess about 25 million a year, but we'll see.
  17. Booing I totally get, especially early in the season and in the dog days of July, but in September of a playoff run? Cmon. Try going to other places (besides Philadelphia and New York) and that's just not how it is. As for not being able to resign Sabathia, look at the numbers. Ten million comes off the books for Gagne, twelve for Sheets - that's 22 right there without even trying. Add in four for Riske and three for Counsell, and that's without even increasing payroll a cent. I'm from Milwaukee, born and raised, but I live someplace else now. Sporting events in Milwaukee are more of an excuse to get drunk, get belligerent, and be completely obnoxious than anywhere else I've ever been. Head on the road, and you'll see what I mean. Wisconsin people are really, really nice, I agree - when they're not completely drunk.
  18. If there was any question before, it should be rock solid now (and I have tried to say good things all year long). 1. Sabathia and Sheets are gone. I think that any chance we had of resigning C.C. was obliterated by the incessant "fan" booing on the last homestand. If you can't support your own guys when it really matters, we don't deserve a good team. It's absolutely embarrassing. The writing was on the wall when it was brushed under the rug about Corey Hart not wanting to resign earlier this season. Between that and the Fielder push, these kids have some serious internal problems with no parent. 2. Yost and his regime are gone. I assume it's going to be a cleaning house. I would consider keeping Ted Simmons as manager, but only after an exhaustive search with Ted on the same level as any other candidate. 3. I'm plus, minus on Doug Melvin. A lot of the credit he gets for the farm system should actually go to Dean Taylor. I know no one wants to admit it, but it's absolutely true. His free agents pickups have been a joke (see our sad 'pen) and that guy we just picked up from the scrap heap this past week. Huh? 4. It's going to be really tough to get any free agents to come here in the off-season. Other teams don't respect our team so much with the perceived arrogance. Additionally, if you have a choice, do YOU want to play for a team where you get booed by your fans when you make a mistake? I mean an absolute hall of famer only gets a hit one out of three times at the plate. Should we really rain down boos on them the other two times?
  19. kapler is really freaking fast. That ball barely got away from upton.
