  1. I just cracked #3, haveing a few friends over for a cookout, they don't drink and my wife loves mixers and wine. BTW, we just bought a whole case, I'll keep everyone posted...
  2. I heart Rickie, I heart Jack Z for taking him and I heart Mr. A for telling Ned that we needed to start bringing actual talent up from our farm system. The future is now!!!
  3. My prediction is Moeller goes 3-4 with a HR and 2 rbi, and Jenkins will be in the 9th spot for the remainder of the season, so our pitchers can get more useful at bats.
  4. I predict Weeks and Mr. Fielder both go yard tonite and JJ makes a spectacular play to save the day.
  5. That is just beautiful, I just love it when fans act so stupid, they put their own foot in their mouth. I shouldnt be suprised by most of the reactions though. I've seen Jay Mariotti? on ESPN enough that the intelligence of a good chunk of Chicago fans is minimalhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif Let's go Brewers. And does anyone remember if we won the last game of last season, or is it 8 more to my free burger? Edit, I meant 9 more
  6. At least they gave us false hope for the first half with the smoke and mirrors tricks.
  7. the offense is scoring like in the first month of the season, they just have to work on the months between the first and the last. We could still be over .500 with run support and Big Ben in the hunt for the Cy Young. Well the, if if's and but's were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas
  8. I am so sick of FSN. They make me want to puke cause I cant watch the game. I guess I should have just gone to the darn thing.
  9. Excluding pitchers, every guy but Overbay is hitting below .260 and the only scrub under .260 is their eighth hitter. I thought our offense was something we didn't have to worry about, and our pitching was. Goes to show what experts, fans and contributors to this great site know about how a season (or half of one) will turn out. I guess that's why they play the game.
  10. i hope somebody is warming up in the pen right now!
  11. Nedly must feel pretty safe lettin' sleep vampire bat. It is for the sweep
  12. Thanks kat, but I also being optimistic, especially I didn't see to much on our kid until a couple of weeks before the draft. Maybe we have a similar situation here.
  13. According to the espn ticker, #1 pick SS Matt Bush? has agreed to terms with the San Diego Padres. Let's hope that is a great sign of things to come with so many hs pitcthers to develop. Edit. He got a $3.15 mil signing bonus, not bad for a high schooler. Is that close to slot value or did the Padres overpay?
  14. maybe (yeah right) we can break gagne's streak, with a jenking home, on second thought, what a slump breaker???
  15. wasn't that trent ph. come on ned, great motivator, terrible, terrible manager. how about we start calling him Rudy
  16. Mr. Hater, you just jinxed it for him. I hope Kolb has a two run lead the next time up.
  17. so, are the 6,000 fans who would show up an hour later really have missed much, other than jenkins taking one out of the park?
  18. Do we play to our level of competition? it does seem to be a trend with sports in this state, Packers, Bucks, Badgers, and now the Brewers. Man, its been awhile.
  19. I didn't go to the game b/c I had my bachelor party this weekend in the Dells and i got back after the 2nd. But I have seen a performance similar to that one. It was the 2nd season of Miller Park, 3rd game of season and Schilling pitched a 1 hit shutout against us. But that was damn impressive.
  20. Like I have been saying, Ben HAS TURNED INTO AN ACE. He has finally gotten that run support I've been begging for. 60/9 K/BB ratio is pretty darn good, if not spectacular. Make that 63/9, great job Ben
  21. I am like J and am 27, but in my babe ruth league (12-15), any pitcher that could throw it by people WOULD NOT be taught how to throw the curve, or at least not allowed to during games for risk of damage to the arm. The body has not even fully developed at age 13, let alone 18, especially for the gifted athletes who get drafted by a team. Kids can have a growth sput of up to 6" in height up til 18 and the consequences of teaching a 12-15 year old could and probably will show dire effects with age. I am also sorry K to hear of your troubles. I believe a kid can be taught the curveball at an early age, but just to start practicing it. An elite athlete will still be able to blow by the average to good HS player with just the fastball and maybe an offspeed pitch, but a curveball used too young will put WAY too much torque on a still developing arm, as I'm sure has happened to hundreds of pitchers the last decade.
  22. We could just option the fourth and fifth years, club for fourth and maybe just give him a break and give him the option for the fifth. If he gives us four years of great, quality starts, I believe in giving the guy his due. I don't think 4 years with our hopefuls is asking too much for a possible bad year from him. Then again, the 4th year would be bad, and the 5th would be the contract year?
  23. It's good to see Rickie back in the lineup, hope that's a good sign.
  24. I agree, if Sheets is our #1, and continues to grow like he's shown the last 4 starts and continues it for 8 of the next 10, we need to sign him up and has proven a buttload of us wrong saying he's not a #1. Lately he's been making people look silly and the fastball has more movement and better placement than I can remember. On a similar note, does anybody think Sheet's performance has been at least partly due to Moeller. It seems that he can call good games, but the lack of talent in SP's have caused a bit of underrecognition? Guys like Kinney, Franklin, Ford, Hernandez, ect just don't hit the spots where Chad sets up and hitters don't miss meatballs. On the other hand Sheets has hit those spots and not shaken off the call too many times.
