  1. They were playing the 25th ranked team in the nation fairly close to that team's home court. I'm happy with a win.
  2. Ha, interesting choice.??I love that song. My vote: ? ?? Ha! "Come along! You belong!" I haven't seen Rescue Rangers in a while. Good stuff!
  3. I still like the show as much as I originally did, but I can definitely say that I don't find Michael as funny anymore. I still like him, but he was funnier in the first two seasons. He was stupid then too, but he's seems to be a different kind of stupid now that isn't as funny. I can't really describe it.
  4. A few years ago, I don't think I would have a problem cheering for the Cubs. They have plenty of good fans who are old people and deserve to see a championship before they die. On the other hand, I go to Marquette and there are far too many Cub fans here, and many of the unfriendly/smug variety. This place could get very irritating if the Cubs win. As much as I would like my uncle to be able to enjoy a Cubs World Series, I'd rather enjoy a Brewers title before having to suffer through a Cubs title. That being said, if the Brewers can't win, I guess I wouldn't be too opposed to the Cubs winning, but if they do that's it for another long time.
  5. I won the ticket buying raffle, and by the time I was back to my apartment from class about 45 minutes in to the buying period, SRO were the only tickets left for game one with 4 together. They were $25 each, same as terrace reserved and Bernie's terrace. Here's what my tickets look like. Again, I won the opportunity to purchase through the online raffle on Brewers.com. They were printed up at the stadium box office, and they look different than the ones season ticket holders got. There was also the option to print the tickets at home. The tickets you're buying could look like this: http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/4ef152a90887e5b6a8739b0375ee5fbff155acf.pjpg
  6. I heard a considerable number of boos, but more cheers. Would've been nice if there were more cheers. I do think there was a section of people on the first level down in the left field corner who chanted "Thank You Gagne" but it was tough to make out from where I was.
  7. 100% agree here. I was excited at the breaking news, but at a certain point I believed it less and less every time I read "Scott Bartell". It did make me laugh though, as it reminded me of Norm Macdonald playing Bob Dole on SNL. More on topic, I am really excited Yo's back. I'll be at the game waiving my towel like crazy when he takes the mound!
  8. I don't remember getting an e-mail last year telling me I lost. Did they send them last year? I was lucky enough to win this year, so I sure hope they make it! I'd obviously hope they make it even if I didn't win, but this adds to it.
  9. I can't give up yet. My gut is numb from all the punches it's received these past few weeks, so a few more won't hurt. At least in the Cubs series the Brewers seemed to have a little life. I'm hoping for 2 or 3 wins in Cincy for the Crew and 1 or 2 wins in Atlanta for the Braves, then the Brewers come home to sweep the Pirates and the Cubs beat the Mets a couple times. I think it can happen.
  10. I loved the trade when it happened, and I still do. The season isn't over. The Brewers are still tied for the lead for the wild card. Making the playoffs isn't the only good thing that can come from this trade. Does the team draw nearly as many fans over the second half of the season without CC? Doubt it. LaPorta will probably be good in the majors, but its not a given. It is undeniable that Sabathia was/is great for the Brewers and that goes beyond the games he's won for the team.
  11. LOL I heard of the firing from the kid sitting next to me in my last class. I literally ran back to my apartment to check this site. I was shocked to hear of Yost being fired, and equally shocked to hear his replacement. Wow.
  12. You beat me to it. I was ready to start booing.
  13. I don't really care for booing, and I am in the camp of those who have been somewhat embarrassed at times to be at a game when the fans boo so loudly. If a player isn't putting forth very good effort (i.e. Johnny Estrada), I think booing is warranted, but when a pitcher gets booed for taking a guy to a 2-0 count, I don't think that's the place for booing. I completely agree that if players hear tens of thousands of people booing their lungs out (for often weak reasons) they would be inclined to either try too hard or get upset, and I can't really blame the players for that. In regards to Corey Hart's comments, I really don't see much of a problem. I don't see any whining or calling the fans bad. He even says they have reason to be frustrated. It's not as if he went to the reporter to complain, either. He was (presumably) asked a question, and this was his answer. We don't know the context of what made him say this, so I don't think we have much of a reason to be upset with him. If anything, I think the anger should be directed at TH for reporting these comments that seem to make fans so upset.
  14. Marquette is over 30,000 per year not including scholarships, and it sounds like you should be able to get financial aid. I might recomend figuring out what amount of scholarships/financial aid would make Marquette affordable for you and your family, and set that as a goal and if you can get enough, go for it. I would definitely suggest that you start applying for financial aid (scholarships, loans, whatever you can get) early to make as much available to you as you possibly can.
