I have a good friend who's friends with the family. He coached in Oakland with Macha, as well as with the Madison Muskies(?) and still has a place in Madison. My friend told me he's going to be the Crew's 3rd Base coach this year. I don't know if this is already known around here or not, so I thought I'd pass along some info to everybody. Take it FWIW, I'm not trying to claim to have any inside info or anything. Again, if this has already been talked about then I apologize.

A little off topice, but still regarding Attanasio. I sat in Sec. 115 today row 21. Had the pleasure to see him today at the game; he couldn't go up a row without being thanked/complemented for CC and how the Crew is doing. I was one of the fans who clapped for him as he walked up and on his way over he padded me on the shoulder and said thanks. Just thought I'd share this little bit with you guys. Classy owner who took his time walking up the aisle to sign autographs and shake hands. He's on Cloud 9 too.

I purchased two tickets last night as well. Should be a pretty good crowd, I can't wait! Welcome to Milwaukee, CC.

I'll be there all three games along with four other buddies of mine.

For those that may read this who are affected by these devastating storms, may God Bless you and your family. You all are in my prayers...

Here's another tidbit I got from a UNC baseball fan in regards to my earlier post on Wooten at the bottom of pg. 1 of this topic: "That was a great summary of Wooten. Would just add that he has a rubber arm and can pitch almost everyday. As far as velocity, his fastball sits right around the 90 mph mark. He has 2 great pitches(slider, split) and 2 or 3 very good ones. It will be interesting to see how the Brewer's utilize his tools. I think he could be a steal in the 13th round."

Madtown, do you know how "signable" Stosh is?

I'm a regular on Inside Carolina, an independent UNC sports site that covers their three major sports (Baskeball, Football, and now Baseball). I just went on their baseball board a little bit ago to ask if anyone could give me some information on Wooten. Here's what one of their mods said about him: "Rob Wooten has been the critical relief pitcher for the Tar Heels the past two years. This year he has been the closer, but pitches whenever the stakes are highest. He has a great slider with a biting 3 to 8 break and when it is working along with his fastball he is very difficult to hit. I think that he has the potential to be a relief pitcher for the Brewers within two or three years, especially if he keeps command of his slider. The best thing about Wooten in my opinion is that on the field and in the clubhouse he has excellent leadership skills along with a great personality and is always handy with a great quote when you need it." Sounds pretty dang good to me, especially for a 13th Rounder. And on top of that he seems to be a good guy. I like this pick.

10 more minutes! Here's to the Brewers taking Lawrie at #16. Should be a fun next couple hours!

Great job, Colby, this really is a great website. Keep up the great work!
