Barrelman- did you include a donation? -
Going into the doctor monday- probably tore ligaments or cartlidge in my knee. Put the knee out of joint (in a brace) making a play on a grounder to my right side.
-
I concur- I've always done padded envelope within a padded envelope as well
-
Yes- signed and personalized a ROMLB (SS) for me. Returned in about a month.
-
Hey- anyone know if Gamel signs TTM at all? I hurt my knee out (again...3rd time- can't get a doc appointment til I'm done teaching for the year) and will probably be laid up this summer and am looking for some TTM and collection projects to keep me busy. Any info would be awesome. Thanks.

Like I said- I'm not a SC member so I wasn't sure of his success rate...thank you for clarifying. -

I got him during ST TTM. I know there were a couple of other successes on here too. I'm not a SC member..so I'm not sure of this success rate. -
Any interest in a Mat Gamel private signing?

I'd be in for an 8x10 and possibly a ball as well. -
Got a couple of high quality bobbles from bdeuce with no problems. Highly recommended

I sent to Hoffman during Spring Training. The rest were to the stadium last year.
-
I've gotten Bush, Cameron, Villanueva, and Hoffman on balls TTM so far.

Andy Pafko, Felix Mantilla, and John DeMerit from the '57 Milwaukee Braves WS team are at Waukesha Sports Cards on May 2nd. $10 cards and $15 everything else. They have a bunch of former Packers upcoming per their website. -
I have one extra- give me a shout if you still need one. Moose

I got back a Greg Jennings that I sent out in October. He includes a little typed note thanking for support and gives his charity website. I did include a 10 dollar donation to his charity.
-
I got back Yovani Gallardo this week took about six weeks addressed to spring training. JLau- I tried getting Sheets last year TTM with no luck.
-
I got Chris Capuano on an 8x10 and Trevor Hoffman on a ROMLB back in the mail this week. Capuano took about a week, Hoffman about a month. Both were sent to Maryvale. I can try to get a pic up if anyone wants.

I usually don't buy from private signings- but I'd be in for this one. Probably for a ball and a photo. Its cool that you're trying to organize this.

218 - very cool of you to do this.

My purchase arrived very quickly as well. Thanks!!!

Yeah, its Granton....I'm the only coach..haha. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

This time I did more preparation. I answered about 75 practice interview questions which really helped me calm down for the interview. I also went to kinkos and got copies of my portfolio printed. I was able to give these to the interview team to keep. That's about it...oh, and agreeing to coach a sport I have never played or coached cuz they needed a coach or they'd have to cancel the season.

Hey, I wanted to thank all the bf.net teachers who provided advice. I was able to get one more interview, used some of your suggestions and got the position. I'm the new social studies teacher at Granton Area High School. I've been asked to coach cross country (which I have no experience in) and maybe baseball in the spring. Any CC advice would be awesome. Now I just gotta get moved from Green Bay to Clark County before monday. Thanks again!!!

Its always that way...especially with 7th graders (I student taught 7th grade) another thing to think about is video clips..there are some sites that offer downloadable video clips I burned them on to a DVD or used my LCD projector (I got lucky and bought a college buddy's old one for 200 bucks) to show the video clip at the start of class and then write a response. Just another idea.

I don't know of an end all be all site...but I usually check the library of congress and wisconsin historical society online collections. Usually I can find something that works that way. There are entire collections on Abraham lincoln, the robber barons, WWI, Civil War, etc. When you get closer to 1941 the website "Dr. Seuss goes to war" has some good prewar cartoons, especially regarding interventionist. My last resort is usually doing a good image search. Besides cartoons there are sketches online too. I also use some repro artifacts that kids can look at and pass around as class is starting, or music too. There are some cds and downloads of period songs. I even learned some on guitar and played them for students..which they usually get a kick out of.

I've never gone on this thread before...and I'm tired of burdening my friends with my useless complaints. What is bugging me is that my life is falling apart. My health is messed up, I had an allergic reaction to some unknown thing which forced me to make doctor appointments that I can't really afford (guess its better than losing my eyesight or dying). I can't find a teaching job and will have to be a substitute teacher this year (nothing against substitute teaching..just not where I thought I'd be this year) and my mother is gloating that I really wouldn't amount to nothing and that I should just apply at the factory where my dad works because that's where I was destined to go anyway. I've basically been on my own since I've been 17...put myself through college and I will not be able to get a job in my field. I get to hear friends, classmates, parents, and a random evil woman in Jo-Ann fabrics bragging about their teaching jobs/children's teaching jobs and I got noting. Its just been quite depressing and if I will do anything to fix what I have been going though. Top everything off I waited in line four hours and didn't get Ryan Brauns autograph..lol. I apologize for my essay...just needed a place to get this off of my chest. mods take off if appropriate.
