  1. I'm glad I'm drinking already. This is ridiculous.
  2. Sure seemed to work for Kendall. I guess I don't mind our chances in extra innings, considering how we've fared so far in them. If we can get there.
  3. Sweetness! Now we just need to capitalize.
  4. It needs to be like in the final game in "Major League" where time is wasting away, the crowd is yawning, then Willie Mays Hayes gets on to start the rally. Not as thrilling, but I'll take Rickie on base any day.
  5. My prediction: Yo wins the Cy Young this year. With only 4 victories!
  6. No strikeouts, Billy walking...madness! How many times can we get our leadoff batter on, yet not even get him to third?!
  7. Making me forget all about what's his name...slow runner...John something... Great pitch Yo!
  8. Okay Corey, it's up to you... Wow, home plate seems to scare us!
  9. Remember...when we used to score runs... Get mad, Prince!
  10. Maybe I'll send Prince my recipe for tofu parmigiana I made the other night for my new mostly-vegetarian girl. Afterward I hit 5 homers! Today I grilled brats. So far, nothin'!
  11. Wow, how much bad luck can we get on our base running recently?
  12. Kinda sad when our 8 and 9 hitters have 2 of our 3 highest averages in the lineup tonight. Granted Yo's is only one game, but jeez guys. Start hitting!
  13. Looks like I'll be posting my game thoughts in here, since ESPN's Cub friendly mods banned me again for trying to rid the board over there of an annoying Cubs' troll. At least I took him down with me.
  14. Here's some stuff he said/did after the Opener, according to an ESPN article. Makes me love him even more! In what started as a pitchers' duel and turned into a battle of the bullpens, it was Fukudome's three-run homer off closer Eric Gagne -- tying the game in the bottom of the ninth -- that eventually sparked Milwaukee. Ryan Braun said he got excited as he came off the field that inning with the score tied 3-3. "It's not supposed to be easy!" he screamed to his teammates in the dugout over and over. Braun, last year's National League Rookie of the Year, sensed enthusiasm instead of dejection and capitalized on the emotion. The left fielder, who hit cleanup behind Prince Fielder and finished the game 1-for-5 with an RBI, said he feels a bit more comfortable being vocal this year and decided to seize the moment. "I was excited," said Braun, who maintained the team wouldn't have won this game last year. "I think everybody has more experience now dealing with a situation like that. Especially a lot of us who are young, we hadn't dealt with the rivalry as much." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3322977
  15. Yeah, I'd take his production, and could probably overlook his attitude if he was with us. Although, Estrada's laissez-faire style killed me! How come there's no Aramis being Aramis?
  16. It's not "bad" news. It's bad news. Yeah, the more I think about it (and especially now that he'll need surgery), it is obviously bad in all aspects. The silver lining is that we still have the depth to make up for it. I feel worse for Cappy than I do for the club, though.
  17. Just saw the "bad" news on JSOnline's blog. You obviously never want to lose a decent starting pitcher to injury, and I do feel bad for Cappy, especially if he needs another TJ surgery. But we thankfully have plenty of depth with guys who all seem to be pitching better than Cappy the last year. It really couldn't have come at a better time, still in ST. Sheets, Suppan, Bush, Vargas, Parra then Sheets, Yo, Suppan, then who? Probably Bush, Vargas with Parra back to AAA to hold innings down? Either way, it'll probably be the top 3 and Parra/Villy towards the end of the year.
  18. Parra getting hit in the 1st. 4 hits, 2 walks, 4 runs. Guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.
  19. Not really drunk, but the Irish bar I was at tonight was crazy! If only it wasn't a Monday...
  20. Chalk up 3 more errors today. Only one by a true starter, though (Weeks).
  21. JJ waited until I switched on the game to go deep!
  22. JJ makes me Hardy! Good hitting by Prince. That's the way you like to see the top of the order operate, even though JJ won't be hitting #2 once Cameron comes back.
