  1. Crap. Actually got a good throw from Kotsay and couldn't hold onto the ball.
  2. Yeah, they mentioned it at the beginning of the broadcast.
  3. So how low does Nieves' batting average have to get before Melvin even considers replacing him with Rivera or Kottaras?
  4. Nice DP there. Wolf is sure working himself out of a lot of jams tonight.
  5. That was a bad throw by Betancourt, no doubt...but c'mon Prince! That was a routine stab that Prince and any other 1B should have had. Prince is displaying horrible defense lately. Prince displays horrible defense on a pretty regular basis. He gets let off the hook way too much. A lot of our infielders would look way better without him at 1B.
  6. Yep, but they aren't a surprise when the ball is hit to Yuni B. Someone should send Melvin this memo.
  7. Gotta say that the pinch-hitting, start once a week version of Kotsay isn't bad.
  8. Now would be a nice time for McGehee to actually do something.
  9. Yeah, it's a hard thing to do that's for sure. At this point though, the Cubs aren't any kind of threat so we have to pull for them. We'll just say root against the Cards to make it sound better.
  10. A lot do. Maybe some teams will use 4 starters early on in the playoffs though. Wolf wouldn't get many starts throughout a postseason though. Greinke, Gallardo, and Marcum would start most of the games.
  11. Obviously he should be out there in the playoffs, so yeah I think pretty much everyone would be upset. Really, I just don't understand Randy Wolf. Not sure why he has such a big problem with Lucroy, but none of the other pitchers do. I'm sure he could suck it up in a playoff situation though. The things is that it was a lot less of an issue when Kottaras was catching Wolf, because he can actually hit unlike Nieves. If Kottaras was still the backup, I don't think anyone would care.
  12. I have said this before that if we are to make the playoffs I don't want to see Lucroy have a day off just because he doesn't work well with Wolf. I would like to see Lucroy catch Wolf from time to time to get their differences ironed out because you need to play your best players every day in the playoffs. It's not that they're incapable of working together. It's just that since Lucroy would likely sit one of every 5 games anyway, that he might as well sit with Wolf pitching. If they had to work together they would. In a playoff situation, I'm sure he'd be in there.
  13. Lucroy doesn't work well with Wolf anyway, so no I don't care. Playing 4 of every 5 games would put him at about 130 starts. I think that's even a little much for a catcher. Can't really complain about him being off every time Wolf catches.
  14. I don't mind giving Braun an extra day off. He really seemed to be in pain on Wednesday. The last thing we need is him getting hurt worse than he already is.
  15. Yeah, this move was made to help the logjam at AAA. No way anyone else gets called up. Last I heard they were going with Schafer in CF and Komatsu in RF or LF in AA.
  16. http://www.mlbtraderumors...&utm_medium=facebook I guess the Nashville OF was getting too crowded.
  17. I sit around and feel sad that the Brewers aren't playing. Lol. But no, really I do feel lost as well. I just try to find some other sporting event to watch, or just chill with my friends. NBA Finals Game 2 is on tonight, so that should suffice.
  18. Again, if he is that good he would've been on a major league roster the last 2 years, and he'd be in the majors right now. The D'Backs are currently carrying only 3 true OF's. But really he couldn't be worse than anyone on our bench right now. At least he has power. Either way, won't happen.
  19. Man the dude is raking down there right now, but there's a reason he hasn't been in the majors since '08. He's likely just a AAAA player at this point. AAA success doesn't always translate to the MLB. Just for reference though here's his AAA stats. .352/.433/.71617 HR 49 RBI
  20. My responses to all of those things: We had no lefty to pitch to Votto, and even if we did Votto kills lefties anyway. McGehee doesn't have much more power than Betancourt, and has been just as bad as him lately. Betancourt actually had a 2 hit game going. Kotsay has no power either, so pinch-hitting him for Counsell wouldn't matter. Pinch-hitting McGehee for him would've made more sense. I do agree that Ron is feeling like Ned at times. Baker is clearly a superior manager, but Ron is in his first year give him time. We definitely need a power-hitting lefty on the bench, but that's on Doug. Not really another option besides Loe there. He has been great lately, but he hung a sinker. It happens. Again, lefty in the pen wouldn't matter there. Votto hits lefties better than he hits righties. Plus, all our lefties are hurt. Braddock will be back.
  21. Would've been nice to not hang pitches against their two best hitters in the same game. Terrible loss. Would've been no point in putting in a lefty anyway. Votto kills lefties. Highest batting average in the league against them.
