They took all the decals off. Just the car. Got the title squared away so she's ready to go.

Been a member of this site for many years. Haven't posted much lately so here's the story. I won the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback at fan appreciation night. I don't have much use for it so we plan on selling it. I look at it every day and think to myself that I'd love it to go to a Brewers fan given how special the season is and where it came from. My wife asked me the other day how I could reach that demographic and it dawned on me! At least give it a go here. I'm in the process of getting it titled and what not so it's not immediately available but should be within the next week. Color is Blue Flame (retro Brewer blue). Many of you may have seen it in front of Miller Park or at various promotional events. Less than 200 miles. Looking for $19,500 which is right around dealer invoice from what I can tell. KBB has it in the 20.5k range as of yesterday. PM me if interested. It would mean a lot to me if it went to a True Blue Brew Crew lover. Go Brewers!

How do we turn this sad franchise around?

How do we turn this sad franchise around?

Great post. To build on your point that the Brewers are the model of mediocrity, 2 Brewers reached major career milestones in the middle of this dumpster fire of a collapse. And I found both to be depressing and telling of a franchise that seems complacent with underachieving. 1000 hits is a big deal. But I don't think I need to say any more about Weeks to anyone that has watched even a modest amount of Brewers baseball. As for Yo setting the K record, I think it's great and all. But when I look at him, I see a guy who never actualized his potential. I've often wondered how good he'd be if he'd been drafted by a team that develops players well. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on that one and throw stats at me. Maybe you're right but I just feel like-and I HATE to say this-if all things were equal and he was a career Cardinal, he'd have a Cy Young award. And there's Braun. The ONE guy who seemed to be the real deal. A guy you could build a lineup around. But again, as a Brewers fan, I'm forced to ask myself. Is it the thumb or is he a shining example of the effectiveness of PEDs? I am bitterly depressed as a Brewers fan. I'm depressed that they collapsed but I'm more depressed that it didn't surprise me. At all. There's a total lack of mental fortitude on this team. In this organization. I'm sick of it and I don't know what to do about it. I'm going to revisit this thread in a few months and see if I feel the same way. I'm not sure if I mean all of this or if it's a reaction to the tremendous disappointment of this season or a conditioned response to watching them lose my whole life. -
I've been reading the love fest and have been trying to get on board but I find the tandem awful. I listen to a lot of games on the radio because I work evenings. Hamilton was interesting at first but he's starting to be a broken record with his insight. Same stories night after night (and he's not on often). I just find Block to be insufferably boring. I can't stand this duo. I might tape them and play it back when I can't sleep.

Clayton Kershaw Extension - 7 Years $215 Million
H4P replied to Warning Track Power's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Assuming he matches his numbers from last year for all 7 years, he gets: Around $930k/start $130k/inning $43k/out This of course doesn't take playoffs into account and are rough numbers but WOW! (My math might not be good. Going to Mexico today and got up at 0100 for flight...) I know it's a big market and all of that but how in the world can this keep up? Feels like baseball is "on the bubble" like the economy was in 2000s. What I wouldn't give to pitch one inning a year with that contract... -
Ryan Braun issues his statements (split from previous thread)
H4P replied to markedman5's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
The American Way: 1. Somebody in the public eye screws up 2. They lie about it (this step is sometimes skipped. A DUI for example) 3. The truth comes out 4. The media and large portion of general public go crazy 5. They apologize 6. Somebody else in the public eye screws up (see 1-6) Where am I going with this? I think it's in his best interest to stay out of the light until somebody else screws up. If he talks publicly now, his haters (of which there are many) will only draw negatives from it and point to that one moment where he didn't look contrite enough or stuttered or brushed away a bug or whatever. I work in a residential treatment program primarily treating drug and alcohol abuse. Urine surveilance is part of it. Every week, people come back with dirty urine and I can't tell you the number of stories I've heard as to how that got in there. I used to think that people were just blatantly lying. Now, I think that people honestly believe their own stories. At the same time, I've seen people who have fought positive tests in the past come forward when they had a negative test and admit guilt. I don't know if Braun was going through the same thing. But I have seen numerous cases of people who spent long periods of time invested in lies and deception change that seemingly overnight. And these people, by and large, had nothing fiscally at stake. I feel like I'm rambling a bit. I'm not even sure what my point is. I guess I just think that since accepting the suspension, he's handled this about as well as he can. And I think it's very well possible that he may have had a "moment" and realized he needed to stop behaving the way he was behaving. It's also possible he hasn't. Time will tell. I think it would be a paramount blunder to go public right now. Let the sharks go to whatever the new blood in the water will be before you do anything public. -
Here's a question I hate to ask (about PEDs/suspensions)
H4P replied to The stache's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
In that same document, it was also noted that he is 47 years old. -
I'm quite tired of MLB using "leaks" as a tool to build public fervor in favor of these suspensions. Am I missing something or is all of this supposed to be confidential? This would be like facing termination at work and constantly having "a source close to the situation" telling everyone in the lunch room. Maybe I'm biased because of Braun but I think MLBs public handling of this is downright shameful. Even if Chris Carpenter had a hot urine (which I'm sure he never would because how would he explain that to his son...), I'd be disappointed if the info was leaked before he was allowed his full "private" appeal process. This whole thing has just soured me on MLB as a whole. Why is nobody holding MLB accountable for taking care of their own house?

I've been a member of this forum for a long time (not sure how long. Used to go under another user name and now I mostly troll). Anyway, I've been reading this thread and it makes me sad. I've seen a lot of controversial threads over the years. I've seen things get heated. But I've never seen the level of snarkiness and downright personal attacks that I've seen in this thread. I get it. To anyone who says there's no emotion involved in this...I just can't buy it. There's no one on this board who doesn't care about the Brewers. To me, it's the saddest part. You have 3 options: 1. Say he didn't do it. It's a conspiracy 2. Say he did it and he's been doing it all along. And I'll never forgive him. 3. Say he may or may not have been doing it. And I don't care. I'll cheer him when he gets back. Maybe I'm missing a few options but what I'm not missing is the fact that something happened with the best player this franchise has seen in the last a lot of years. A player that played a great role in it's recent, minor successes (though great to us). This makes me want to buy a puppy so that I can name it Braun and kick it. Now that my raw emotion is gone and I can genuflect, I really feel bad for all the brass in the organization who have to stand up and take questions that they can't answer. While Mark A. has a funny way of pronouncing vowels, I respect the hell out of him for showing up tonight. And answering questions he doesn't seem to know the answers to. You're turn, Ryan.

K-Rod to BAL for 21-year-old High-A 3B Nicky Delmonico
H4P replied to MVP2110's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Yeah, but the thing about Braun is...oh wait. Wrong thread. I was just proclaiming to a buddy last night that we'd be lucky to get some lifer AAAA player for Krod who could fill in for injuries. Just based on the quick reads here, I'm thriilled with this (other than the "told you sos" I've been hearing). Man, I can't remember being so glad to see something new on top of this board. I don't see this ending well for Baltimore.
