    If i am reading this correctly, he seemed like he pitched pretty well during winter ball. i know that this really isn't too much of a sample and it is NOT facing major leaguers, but still seems like it was okay. If you look at 2009 winter league stats, it doesn't look too bad. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=434538 17 Ks, 2 ER, and only 2 BB in 11.2 innings. Again, not against MLB players, but something to ponder.

    Okay, maybe I am the only one that is optimistic, but......there are 60 games to go and we are only 4 games out. I know that the Crew hasn't been playing that wonderful lately, but why is everyone ready to throw in the towel? Yeah, the Cardinals and the Cubs are probably better on paper, but we are only 4 games out! It's not like we are 7+ games out of first.

    I don't think that Melvin would want to deal with Ramirez's or Scott Boras's attitudes.

    Rip me apart if you want, but since we are in need of a closer and starting pitching I thought of a couple of names. In the case of a closer, what about George Sherrill from Baltimore? I know that he had an up and down last year, but he did have 31 saves last year and supposedly was(is?) available. I'm not sure what it would take to get him, but he is a better option than what we have right now. At least he has closing experience. As far as starting pitching goes, what about Erik Bedard? I'm not too sure on his availability, and I know he is coming off major injury. I think he would be good gamble, and the last thing I remember hearing is that Seattle wanted to move him. We do have connections with Seattle now, and again, I don't know what it would take to get him, but wouldn't it be worth at least a flyer on? Okay, just my opinions. Let me hear it. Sorry if these is supposed to be in the Major League discussions.

    NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! I'd rather have no one out in left field before I'd want Bonds out there. Bonds is a piece of garbage. Besides, Kapler is a serviceable replacement for the time being. It's not like Braun is done for the year.

    To me, I don't know why the Brewers would even think of it. What do I know though? Speaking of the Brewers, Sherman believes Prince Fielder will be available "almost definitely in the offseason" and perhaps even this summer. Doug Melvin says he's not exploring it but never rules out anything. The presence of Mat Gamel and Matt LaPorta plus Fielder's unwillingness to sign long-term could lead to a deal. Fielder figures to jump up to at least $7-8MM upon reaching arbitration for the first time. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ EDIT: Please make titles more descriptive - BtA

    Okay, I am really getting sick of a couple of things: 1. Bill Hall watching way too many 3rd strikes. Is he just scared to swing the bat when there are two strikes? Who knows? I'm just sick of seing it. 2. Rickie Weeks not being able to hit (especially when there are men on base). He strikes out way too much (I know everyone has been saying that), and it seems like the only times he can get a hit is when there is nobody is on. I was at the D-Backs series and everytime there was someone on, he always flew out. 3. Our pitchers give up way too many RBI hits to opposing pitchers. Just look at the last game. Jeff Francis did it. Adam Wainright did it against us. I know for a fact that they aren't the only ones. Okay, maybe I'm wrong on these things. Just post and let me know what you think.
