  1. I was pretty checked out during the NLCS so I wasn't aware of Murphy's comments. I like Murphy, I think he is a great motivator of people. Those comments go too far, I agree. There's a fine between creating underdog persona and demoralizing. I think he crossed it.
  2. I'm of the opinion we can't win the series. Dodgers don't care at all about regular season. Veterans don't care, just turn it on for playoffs. Frustrating. We have no hitting and pitching is white knuckling it to hold them.
  3. Was at game. What a miserable experience. Not sure it was mentioned in thread but while Snell dominated, I feel like something could've been done. Felt like he only threw 10-15% fastballs. He was going to changeup and curve a good 60% of the time. Slider another 20%. Brewers were taking off speed strikes and violently swinging ahead of off speed all game. Felt like an adjustment was possible. Maybe he was just too good.
  4. 100%. I think the players will play loose against the Dodgers and that bodes well. I think it's clear the Cubs series meant as much to the players as the fans (grabbing the Fly the L flag). I think the players were hyped and as a result, the pressure got to them a bit at times. They still got the job done but I think will be looser and better in this series.
  5. I've only seen the Miz locker room interview. Can someone add tweets of locker room celebration and interviews?
  6. Add me to the chorus of "biggest game of my life". I was at the game, bought tickets before I knew it was the Cubs and how big the moment was. That was my world series. All the ingredients were there for most devastating loss of my life. Outside Seattle Packers. I find the Counsell betrayal unbelievably personal considering his history and "Born a Brewer" promo, the fact Brewers and Cubs have never met in playoffs, the invading Cubs fans into Wrigley North with their smugness, going up 2-0 to then lose two deflating losses, the season we had and how likeable our players are. It would have been the worst gut punch ever. Now it's glorious. I think we good a puncher's chance against Dodgers.
  7. Totally disgusting the Cubs have gotten away with trotting out Rea and Pomeranz. Disgusting.
  8. Right, but I'm guessing most of those 89% wins were sweeps or 3-1. The ones that got to 2-2 probably became tossups.
  9. So of the 34 5 game series that a team went up 2-0, how many went to game 5 and what were the result of those games??
  10. Nice to see almost 37 year old pot bellied Drew Pomeranz, former Brewer, dominate.
  11. Such a farce. Dodgers yawn through mediocre regular season then activate Death Star when it's time to play.
  12. Buddy who works at stadium said a large group of Cubs fans on third base side got ejected in first and one maniac was throwing punches at cops. Asshats.
  13. Trying to be optimistic and he was frustrated that he was coming out. But he wasn't insisting he was fine very hard so who knows.
  14. There's a ton more purchasing power in Chicago.
  15. There is a huge assumption Cubs fans are buying. Any brewers fans who wanted to go have already bought. Rich cubs fans from north shore will be swarming and brewers "fans" won't be able to resist 3x face value.
  16. I'm sorry, I'm weak and I'm just sick this is the scenario. I'm pretty chill on sports these days but this is only scenario that gets me upset. Smug counsell, smug cubs fans turning home field into 50/50, castoffs like Rea, Pomeranz, Rogers having success for them, the list is endless. Mets hurt last year. This may break me. Sorry, I'm weak.
  17. I don't see why we can't extend him. 6 years, $150-180 million. His brother showed there is longevity in his genes, Even in an injured down year he has good stats. Trade Jefferson Quero in offseason for position of need. C'mon Mark.
  18. That's fine. Phillies and Dodgers are more dangerous than the Padres so we need to beat good teams anyway. And I can't handle Wrigley North, which we know it'll be.
  19. My buddy and I were just talking about that Kotsay STL playoff game with Gomey on the bench. I can still picture that sinking bloop that Kotsay's 35 yr old legs stumbled to get to.
