I need a question answered please... If a player passes through waivers or is claimed by another team, can he only be traded for another major league player who has also passed through waivers or minor league players?

Pathetic. Just pathetic. I understand why we are not unloading players to give the perception we are still in the race and sell tickets. But who are they fooling?

I am hoping that there is a close play tonight with Fielder rounding third and Russell Martin as the catcher. Please! I have been good all year. Just give me this one thing! Fielder may kill the guy.

The starting pitching has put Macha into this situation. He can not control that almost every start goes only 5 innings and he is forced to overuse his bullpen. He knew that he would need to use his bullpen a ton with Villa going tonight so he tried to get another inning out of a guy that gets paid a lot to get guys out. I see what he was trying to do. I do not understand the anger towards Macha on this one.

I think that it is at least appropriate to look into what teams may give us for our players like Cam and Hoffmann now when it probably wasn't a week ago. It never hurts to look.

Any ideas on who might want Cam? Can't think of a team off the top of my head needing a CF. Would the Yankees still have an interest? Looking ahead to 2010...

We have not won back to back games since June. Wow. The fact that we are even discussing trading our top prospects is very scary for the future of Milwaukee baseball.

And just like that we are a .500 team - by record at least. And they may be a little high.

I am not just upset over the loss today, but let's be realistic. We played one month of unbelievable baseball. We had a 31 game stretch where we we really good. Take out that stretch and look at the rest of the season. In the rest of the season we are 20 GAMES BELOW .500! We are just not that good of a team.

BTN, for the second time now, has just compared the Cards, Cubs, and Astros about who will win the Central. Shouldn't we at least be in the conversation?

I think recently, especially after the CC trade, we (Brewer fans) have forgotten who we (The Brewers) really are. We are a team that drafts and develops younger player in our farm system and have had some success with that recently. We CAN NOT continue to trade away these players for rental half-of-a-season type players. It is a very short sighted to continue to argue for a move to be made every time we struggle. We can not afford the quick fix every time because we are a small market club. We have a much smaller margin for error. I am, for one, as impatient as the next fan. But I also think that the fact that we are even in a position to argue about whether or not a player should be added is exciting. Braun is not doing the GM or future Brewer teams a favor by pushing for a mid-season pickup at the expense of his future teammates.

We should not make a move just because the Cardinals have done something. That is where you find yourself overpaying for a player. If something comes up that will help this team I'm sure Melvin will get it done. Just do not panic and make a move just because the Cards did.
