Got a little hint that the Brewers may stay in Huntsville for another year(s), might know in a few days.

I am a season ticket holder, have been on and off since 1989 here in Huntsville. Many points to be made. 1) We are not losing fans because of the Brewers affiliation. Most of the fans want a NL team, we have that. Of course they would prefer the ATL Braves, not gonna happen. Brewers on are tv here more than the A's used to be (prior affiliate). Brewers are on vs Braves on cable. 2) Many things s*ck about the stadium, its design, its ambience, the video board doesn't work, can't understand what is said on the speakers, no restuarants without driving, concessions are not good, highest ticket prices in Southern League for children, no "crawling" score board for scores. I could go on for days. 3) Problem is not lack of free tickets aka "buy outs", problem was 75% of the games in the 90s and early 00s were free, they devalued a ticket to the point where nobody wants to buy one. You hear people all the time complaining about how they dont' give away tickets anymore and they don't want to buy one. 4) Talk of recession is BUNK. Huntsville has been hit less by the recession than other SL cities, but yet attendance drops annually while other cities attendance still rises annually. 5) The horns aka vuvuzuelas last year did turn people off, but they are gone, quit selling them. That is a good thing. 6) No promotions. We don't have any promotions, no SD Chicken, no Zooperstars, nothing. They sorta over did promotions in the past, having the Chicken in three times one year to the point where it didn't help attendance, now they are the other extreme. 7) The workers and staff at the game try, but the Stars owners and mgmt either can't spend money here or won't. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money. 8) Stars and City of Huntsville have a p*ssing contest going on for years about who is responsible for what maintenance. Meanwhile the stadium crumbles and attendance plummets. IMHO they need to tear down the stadium and start over, it was built for both football and baseball in a rush in 1984 and while passable for both is good for neither. (football doesn't play here anymore). I have traveled and lived all over the country and been to many ballparks, both major and minor, so I feel I have some grasp of the situation here, we are in trouble. Questions?

Are you talking about the MAJOR league bullpen next year? Have you seen the guys you mention pitch this season IN PERSON? I have with respect to three of them. Two of them maybe down the road, one of them I just don't see ever making it and the fourth I haven't seen in person.

Logan only played in 7 games for Huntsville, had 3 Ks in I think 23 ABs. As I said, it conicided with Drew Anderson leaving the team for awhile due to his mother's cancer, which she has subsequently died from.

Got a chance to talk to Zach Braddock during the game last night, he was sitting behind me doing some video taping. He said he feels fine and will start throwing again any day now. With respect to Adam Heether posts above...Adam has looked good at third during his stays in Huntsville, but earlier this year he was in town for a short period and they played him several times at SS...scarey is a good word to describe his play there.

Actually, my understanding is that Schafer was only sent up to Huntsville for a few days due to the illness of Drew Anderson's mother. Drew was on the Temporarily Unable to Play list or something like that. Soon as he came off that Schafer went back down.

Mike Jones appears to have altered his throwing motion from previous seasons. Each game he starts it seems like he has a TERRIBLE inning early then settles down somewhat. Also, seems like six innings or so is his limit before he runs out of gas.

My comment about Braddock "ailing" was not meant to be a medical diagnosis, just stating he was not being disciplined as somebody else suggested or anything else. Zach was at the game last night in street clothes taping the game from the stands.

Was at the Stars game last night. Sam Narron looked spot on, but apparently AA is the highest level he can be a star at. I was not high on Lo Cain last year, appeared to be one of those players who is a great athlete, but not necessarily a baseball player. Last night, GRANTED IT WAS ONE GAME, he looked much better than I remember. He hit the ball hard and looked good in CF. His inside the park home run is a bit deceiving. Had the CF not crashed into the wall and crumpled he would have been held probably to a double, possibly a triple. But still, I liked his game last night.

Dave Bush has left the Stars....don't know when he will pitch again....

Planning on being at tonight's Huntsville game, will check in tomorrow morning here with observations.
