  1. I am leaving off Shafer, Green, and Fiers as I believe they will be in the Bigs for most of 2012. Rogers and Rivas because of there age and/or injury history aren't prospects just AAAA players. 1. Jed Bradley 2. Tyler Thornburg 3. Taylor Jungman 4. Willy Peralta 5. Scooter Gennet 6. Santo Manzanillo 7. Caleb Gindl 8. Alan Williams 9. Orlando Arcia 10. Nick Bucci 11. Yadiel Rivera 12. Kris Davis 13. David Goforth 14. Max Walla 15. Devontay Richardson 16. Jimmy Nelson 17. Kyle Heckathorn 18. Micheal Red 19. Nick Ramirez 20. Cody Scarpetta 21. Tyler Roberts 22. Tommy Toledo 23. Danny Keller 24. Dan Meadows 25. Dan Merkingler 26. Kentrail Davis 27. Milton Gomez 28. Chris McFarland 29. Renaldo Jenkins 30. Ruben Ozuna 31. Osmel Perez 32. Dustin Houle 33. Brooks Hall 34. Eric Arnett 35. Cody Hawn 36. Cameron Garfield 37. Joel Pierce 38. Chris Dennis 39. JP Prince 40. Mike Walker
  2. DeRosa would be ideal. He was a Brewer killer with the Cubs! I would prefer him in left over Jorge Cantu if he's needed there for the possible Braun suspension. Also, I think Morgan will be on the way out if they sign Aoki when Braun comes back, which keeps Green on the team.
  3. Speaking of Doumit. Twins adding him plus Willingham is an excellent off season. More then makes up for Cuddyer and Kubel.
  4. The Cardinals bench this year was awesome. Granted they added some players throughout the year, but they have a quality mix of bats and gloves. Young homegrown talent and veterans. The Brewers homegrown talent for the bench lacks a SS and right-handed bat. I believe and hope Carlos Gomez sees alot more playing time this year. Better defense, more speed, and if he's playing against righties he's hitting 260+ and getting on base. Green is the only lock. Beyond that, how much more payroll gets eaten up by the arbitration eligibles will determine the Brewers bench. Green, Kottaras, Shafer, Gomez, and Farris would be a disaster!!!
  5. Hector Gomez Colorado Rockies. Hasn't done anything in the majors and minor stats ok, but if he has a solid glove and speed for the league minimum. I saw him listed as Colorado's #10 prospect for 2011 on Baseball America's prospecting rankings for the Rockies. The Rockies are looking for a starter and Huston Street's name has been mentioned. The Crew could pick up an 8th inning guy and a shortstop. Narveson and some mid level prospects with the Crew taking on some extra salary. I have never seen Sellers play, but if he could be acquired for a couple of minor leaguers not in the Brewers long term plans, why not take a shot!!
  6. Have read that the Mariners may be willing to pick up part of his salary if they find a taker. Is it worth a couple of minor leaguers to see if he could regain the form of his Angel days. Can play 2B, 3B, and CF.
  7. Some talk about him possibly being traded. Is he a consideration buying low on the basis a FA OF is easier to pick up then an IF this year? Would Green and Hart be enough. Mets slash some dollars.
  8. Only the Milwaukee Bucks would sign veterans equivalent to Barmes and Pena expecting them to be an upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I am all in for Sizemore. Putting Sizemore in center with Gomez has a defensive replacement takes the need to find a SS with some power instead of the best glove available who makes contact and at a minimum average on base percentage. Morgan, Gomez, Lucroy, SS other then Yuni with no power in a line up with two rookies at the corners isn't going to cut it.
  10. Cory Hart and Shawn Marcum for Nick Markaksis and JJ Hardy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hart to the Braves for Beachy and Martin Prado. The Brewers would probably have to give up a little more. Beachy gives Melvin the flexibility of looking at offers for Marcum or Wolf. Also, puts Narveson in the pen. Prado gives the Brewers a platoon option with Taylor Green who can also be the right handed outfield bat off the bench. Gomez is a pinch runner/defensive replacement only. To replace Cort Hart in the outfield, I would like to see them go after Michael Cuddyer or Josh Willingham. Willingham might mean Braun moving to RF. Bullpen, I would like to see them go after Matt Capps if one or both of Saito and Hawkins leave or retire. If there is an additional money available, I would like to see them go after Ryan Doumit. I am going with Yunesky coming back unless they trade Wolf or Marcum for a SS. Morgan Gamel Braun Weeks Cuddyer/Willingham Green Betancourt Lucroy Bench: Prado, Hairston, Doumit, Gomez, leave the last spot open for a 3rd catcher or Logan Schafer Gallardo, Greinke, Wolf, Marcum, Beachy Axford, Capps, Saito, Narveson, Braddock, Fiers, Loe (I would prefer to see another young arm with the last spot) The line up might look weak to some of the other suggestions, but having the flexibility with Prado, Doumit, and Hairston with legit bats off the bench (aka Cardinals) along with Willingham or Cuddyer being able to cover 1B if Gamel struggles is huge.
  12. Hart for Youkilis is crazy. Red Sox would be nuts!!!!!!!
  13. Inexpensive left handed power bat that is still getting better. Perfect replacement for Prince. The Brewers might not have a whole lot that Florida would like at this time. Would it take trading Hart, Wolf, or Marcum for prospects and flipping them to Florida. If Melvin truly doesn't think Gamel can be above average this is the type of player they need to complement Braun.
  14. Signing both or one of McFarland or Jenkins more then makes up for no early round selections for 3B and SS. Solid, strong athletes. No tweeners!!!
  15. I could edit it, but why??? Let the dirty minds run with it if it makes them happy!!! And yes, it should be laughed at.
  16. The Brewers will continue to struggle with a taker for Prince. Angels--Prince Brewers--Santana, Shields Rays--Hank Conger
  17. Fausto should cost less then Garza and Greinke. But would the Indians want to take a chance on more Brewer prospects that flame out!!! Offer up a three or four prospects not named Cain, Rodgers, Jeffries, Ordozzi, Heckathorn, and Gamel. Gindl, Rivas, Scarpatta, and Peralta to name a few.
  18. The Angels need to make a big splash and sign Cliff Lee. The other big names are gone. After that, how about Fielder, McGhee, Rivas, and another mid-level prospect like Scarpatta or Peralta (heck give them all 3) for Kendry Morales, Brandon Wood, and Jared Weaver. Angels upgrade at the corner infields and the Brewers get a young number 2 behind Gallardo. Brewers could platoon Gamel/Wood at 3rd. This might be the old homer thought but the Angels upgrade there #1 starter with the Lee signing. Bigger bats at 1st and 3rd. Plus add a couple of young starting pitchers to their farm system. All for the cost of $300,000,000 if they extend Prince. Gallardo, Marcum, Wolf, Weaver, Capuano or Rodgers (dump Narveson for a solid bench player). Morales, Weeks, Escobar, platoon Gamel/Wood, Lucroy, Braun, Cain, and Hart.
  19. The Jays have plenty of young pitching talent and added several more good prospects through the draft. Don't see them giving up Romero. But lets say for Prince a starting point could be Adam Lind or Travis Snider to replace Prince's bat. A combination of Brett Cecil, Shawn Marcum, Casey Jansen, or Zach Stewart. My guess would be the Brewers adding in a prospect or so to get two pitchers in a deal with Lind or Snider. I would even take Cecil, Stewart, and Jansen for Prince. Cecil is a 4 pitch left hander with a history of being a ground ball pitcher from what I have read. Stewart is mid to high 90s young reliver. The Crew has options of Jeffries or Stewart to convert to a starter. Jansen could be the number 5 starter. So a 3 and 5 with young power relief pitcher. Is this viable or am I nuts!!!!!!!!!
  20. I would love to see Mat Gamel starting at 3B for the Crew. If that happens, I like this set up for the righty/lefty Escobar or Gomez Gamel Weeks Braun Braun Fielder Fielder Weeks Hart Hart/Gerut Gamel Zaun Escobar Pitcher Zaun Gomez Pitcher If McGhee starts at the corner Gomez/Escobar Weeks Braun Fielder McGhee Hart/Gerut Zaun Pitcher Escobar/Gomez
  21. How about a Church/Rocco Baldelli platoon? Of course, that is if we can trade Hart for a SP of some kind. Heck I would even take a power reliever.
  22. Someone mentioned Jerry Hairston Jr on another thread. A bench player with some pop. Could be the righty with the Hurricane and Gerut being the lefties on the bench. It would great to see Counsell back but everyone's dreaming if they think his offensive numbers will be close to this past seasons. We need some bats with extra base ability on the bench. Still like Fernando Rodney and also Rick Ankiel if Cory Hart is dealt.
  23. I would take McCarthy for Hart anytime. Saves payroll plus you get McCarthy on the rise. If he flames out, no big coin spent.
  24. Varitek and Lucroy. righty/lefty at the plate
  25. Granted the Brewers will probably spend their free agent money on a starting pitcher or two. But what if the Brewers trade a combo of Hart, Mcghee, Gamel, or one of their relievers with some trade value Coffery or Villanueva. I wouldn't mind seeing: Rick Ankiel--Brings a left handed power bat to the line up with a plus arm in the outfield. Injured for part of the season could be a value signing. Rocco Baldelli--If Gerut and Counsel are two of the back ups the Crew will need a right handed bat off the bench. Fernando Rodney--How about a power reliever for the pen would make a good partner for Trevor Hoffman.
