Klinsmann announced our 23 man World Cup roster this afternoon. Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) Defenders: DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Nürnberg), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders FC) Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Julian Green (Bayern Munich), Jermaine Jones (Besiktas), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City) Forwards: Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes) Some interesting choices, and I will withhold judgement until after the World Cup. But my initial thoughts would be that I am absolutely shocked Donovan is not at least on the bench, and that Wondolowski, and Green made it on the final roster ahead of him.

1) Jimmy Nelson 2) Tyrone Taylor 3) Devin Williams 4) Clint Coulter 5) Victor Roache 6) Taylor Jungmann 7) Orlando Arcia 8) Nick Delmonico 9) Michael Reed 10) Mitch Haniger 11) Hunter Morris 12) Ariel Pena 13) Tyler Cravy 14) Jed Bradley 15) Chris McFarland 16) Jorge Lopez 17) Tyler Wagner 18) Nick Ramirez 19) Yadiel Rivera 20) Hobbs Johnson

http://www.tv.com/news/against-the-odds-nbc-renews-community-for-season-5-136823138439/ Community has been renewed for season 5. Season 4 has been 'meh' for me this year. So we will see if they can pick it up next season.

Didn't they win it in 2011? But I am looking forward to the game 7 tomorrow, should be a good one. Red Wings are leading Anaheim 3-1 in the 2nd period of game 7, see if they can hold on.

Looks like the Dodgers are going for it... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/07/dodgers-acquire-shane-victorino.html

ESPN finally added WAR onto its website. Now it is not the end all be all metric for rating players. But that said, reading the comments made my head explode. http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/27050/what-we-talk-about-when-we-talk-about-war

I would want to know how mad people would have gotten at Bud if they did extend the game somehow, and someone got hurt. Imagine the outrage then; people would have been asking why didn't it just end in a tie? It's just an exhibition game.

The Blue Jays have released Jamie Moyer after 2 minor league starts. He allowed ten runs in 11 innings. I think it may be time to call it quits Jamie...

I suspect that one of the guys who awaited the baton had moved to a different lane to clear a jostling crowd of other waiting teams--before the baton-pass action started. I did not see the race, but that is what I think it means.

And to top it all off, they are playing there first round game at the #10 seed Iowa State's home floor. How messed up is that?

The Nashville Predators have traded Blake Geoffrion and Robert Slaney and a 2nd round draft pick for Hal Gill and a 5th round draft choice from Montreal. I honestly don't know what to think about this deal.

I love how some writer on ESPN.com just brushed this off as a "lockout loss" for the Heat.

On the Preds Facebook page, they announced they have traded Cal O' Reilly to Phoenix for a fourth round pick. He was one of my favorite players to watch for the Admirals.

The fact, when disscussing the state of the Brewers with people, that Mark Kotsay has been described as clutch. I say That he's a pretty awful player, their response? He's clutch! Its just frustrating me right now. Along with the Cardinals winning Game 1.
