I say he goes to Milwaukee im prolly just being a homer but here are my reasons. 1) Boston is on Gagne no trade list. 2) Melvin and Daniels have had history working trades out and Melvin used to GM the Rangers. 3) Milwaukee can give a useful RP back to Texas. Go get Gagne Doug!
NYM may be out as well The Mets are talking to the Rangers about Brad Wilkerson, not Eric Gagne. This makes sense, as Wilkerson has hit lefties well this year and can play right field. mlbtraderumors.com
more updates SI.com's Jon Heyman says the Red Sox are leading the Yankees and Mets in a three-team race for Eric Gagne. Newsday says it's close between the same three teams and the Brewers. The general opinion seems to be that Boston has the best offer on the table. However, that might not matter since their on Gagne's no-trade list. The Red Sox would likely have to make it worth his while for Gagne to accept a trade.
Sorry for the venting, I apprciate the work you guys do to make it one of the best fan sites there is, it just seems like it may be overdone locking and moving threads.
Why are the mods moving and deleting stuff like crazy? Lohse to PHI is a done deal and it gets moved, Castilo to NYM was also a done deal, pending phyiscals. Mods need to be more careful on what they lock/move.
I think this may spark some more trades. Castilo to the Mets seems possible as well as maybe Dotel, Gagne may be headed offsomewhere, other names may be traded include Scott Hatteberg, Kyle Lohse, Jon Garland, also maybe Adam Dunn, Jermaine Dye.
Could this lead to more trades? A lot of teams now need to upgrade as ATL just got seriouslly better. I can see the NYM, LAD, SDP all those teams upgrade now. Any trades in the works for the brewers or are they standing pat?
More Info But, the Red Sox needed to trade Hideki Okajima to the White Sox and complete a trade with the Brewers for Derrick Turnbow to acquire Dye because they would not move Jacoby Ellsbury or Clay Buchholz for Dye. Talks about that deal broke down, but the Soxes remain in contact. Wily Mo Pena could go from Sox to Sox if a deal were worked out. mlb4u.com
