  1. I was thinking about that too. If anyone is interested, I would be willing to trade an extra Gallardo for a pinstripe Braun since I can't get to that game.
  2. "As for the RickieWeeks Jr comments about one Mr. Bill Hall.....thank you. I'm giving you much of the credit on that one. Blasting him for seemingly no reason and without cause the day before he goes off for 6 RBI's on 2 bomb's. Nice. If he was lost up there....he sure as hell found himself! " Oh please. That is what Bill Hall does. He shows up for a week here and there and disappears. He will end the year hitting no higher than .260. He'll have close to 20 homers to go along with 120 strikeouts, and he'll be awful in the one thing that won't show up on his stats: clutch hitting.
  3. He will get booed, and it will be loud. Miller Park fans boo guys like Wes Helms and Jeromy Burnitz. It seems like people in Milwaukee boo anyone who used to play for the Brewers no matter the circumstances. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Jenkins get booed.
  4. I looked at the Snappers schedule and noticed this game starts at 4 instead of 1. I know some of you, like BHF always go to these games. What time are you planning on getting there? Last year I got there at about 6 for the Fielder day and I was near the front of the line. Think people will still get there that early or can I get some extra sleep?
  5. Wednesday is the 9th
  6. Even for not having a box, that Molitor sold at an exceptionally low price. I recently sold an extra Jenkins without the box and got $27 for it. Sometimes, sellers are just unlucky and there isn't any interest. On the other hand, I also think that $58 for a regular Molitor is really high. I bought one last summer for $20. I collect all the bobbleheads, and personally, I don't care about NIB. If it's without a box and in good condition, I'll take it. I would probably even buy one without the box over one that had it if it meant saving money. Some people care, some people don't.
  7. I didn't think it was that poorly done. I actually thought it was one of the better Fielders out there ... the one Beloit did last year was high quality, but it looked absolutely nothing like Prince.
  8. I went with three other people who don't care about bobbles and always give me theirs. Got 3 whites and 1 retro, so I was more than happy. About the workers digging through boxes, I've been hearing about that for 2 or 3 years now. It's always people at the front of the line who get their early, they always tell me about that.
  9. I'm worried about the Cardinals.
  10. If your ticket package is A) Not full-season or B) In the terrace reserved The Brewers won't treat your complaints with any respect.
  11. I completely agree. Maybe give one bobble to everyone, the same kind, or do one bobble but only give them to the first 20,000 or so.
  12. Everyone has to get their first MLB experience at some point, do they not? I don't get what the deal is with BA. I like him. I think he's a funny guy. He has good chemistry with Schroeder. I'm actually convinced that fans just love $%+%@#@# about announcers. Rarely do you ever hear about an announcer that people like. People are always bashing Anderson, Sutton, Vasgersian, they bash Madden, Michaels, etc...I don't think people will ever be satisfied. ($%+%@#@# = circumventing cuss filter or not previewing... please see the language guidelines and "Keep Brewerfan Beautiful 2008" --1992)
  13. I have two extra white unis. I'll take offers, but I have all the Brewers bobbles, so I'll probably hang onto these and trade them for later bobbles this season, unless you have something else.
  14. I was at today's game (got both versions of the Prince bobble!), so I wasn't subjected to FSN. But I did notice in the Cubs game that Suppan pitched, there were several instances where they would show Suppan pitching, zoom in on him, show the release, and then NEVER show the batter. So basically they showed Soup throw the ball, then you heard the bat, but had no idea what happened until they changed to the sideline shot.
  15. If that's the product we're talking about, they are at least $1,000 in the team store. And I'm not even sure if they've been worn ... they're just the same exact tailor-made, game-ready jersey that Prince wears.
  16. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the game jerseys sold at the team store are priced around $1,000.
  17. I'm going and I'll have three extras. I have all the Brewers SGAs but might deal with one for something else.
  18. Man, I have been looking for Patriotic Snappy for years without any luck.
  19. I know this isn't any new information, but there are a lot of avid collectors around here and I thought it would be a good idea to get all the Brewer-related bobble dates in one spot. So I went around quickly and made this list. I know the Snappers have a third bobble, but it has nothing to do with the Brewers so I left it out. 2008 Bobbleheads (13) Brewers (10) Sunday April 6 - Prince Fielder -White home jersey -Retro jersey (5,000) Sunday June 1 - Ryan Braun -White home jersey -Retro jersey (5,000) Sunday June 22 - Polish Sausage Sunday July 6 - Barrel Man Sunday August 24 - J.J. Hardy -White home jersey -Retro jersey (5,000) Sunday September 7 - Corey Hart -White home jersey -Retro jersey (5,000) Huntsville Stars (1) Saturday June 7 - Ryan Braun (1,500) Beloit Snappers (2) Sunday June 1 - Yovani Gallardo (500) Sunday August 3 - Rickie Weeks (500)
  20. "So the Brewers should be in a win now mode except for Tony Gwynn who should just get a chance that he didn't earn because who knows, he might be good someday? " Or like, now. Explain to me how win-now mode constitutes removing a 25-year-old from the lineup who is hitting .300 (this is a hypothetical) in favor of a 35-year-old journeyman who hit .240 last year. If you guys want to split hairs about minor league at-bats, what about Rickie Weeks? If I'm not mistaken the guy hit .250 in AA. It pains me to say this, but what has Rickie Weeks done to deserve his locked-in starting spot that Gwynn hasn't? What about Jeff Suppan? He's basically Dave Bush or Claudio Vargas with a fatter contract and a bigger name.
  21. But don't you agree there is something strange about making that claim when the guy has NEVER been given the opportunity to do so? I also made it clear that I didn't think he was anything close to the player his dad was. I was just trying to make a point that you can make it without slugging. In fact, in my opinion, a slap-single hitter would be a nice complement to the Brewers power lineup. No one seems to agree, but I think Gwynn has loads of potential. I think he's at least good enough that he deserves a shot. If he's still playing well when Cameron comes off his suspension, I don't think it's good for the team or fair to Gwynn that Cameron will simply be handed the job.
  22. Tony Gwynn is better than Bill Hall. If he would get regular PT he would prove that. He will never hit the home runs Bill Hall can, but he will get HITS. What is it with this 2B and HR crap anyway? His dad had almost no power either. He's not ever going to be half the player his dad was, but I really don't see .300, 30 SBs and great defense as out of TGJ's reach. I really don't understand all of this "he has a ceiling, blah blah blah" talk. He doesn't need to hit doubles and home runs. A base hit and a SB can get that done, and even if not, the Brewers have so much power in that lineup, they can afford to have one guy who just gets on base. How in the world can so many of you make these judgments on TGJ? He hasn't been given anything CLOSE to a fair chance to give you the grounds for a statement like that. Meanwhile we all know what Bill Hall is. An overrated, overpaid bust who swings at everything and has lost every ounce of humility that once made him a decent player. He doesn't hustle like he used to, he doesn't take care of his body, and he let one good season get to his head (even though, to me, his 2005 was better than 2006). Last year when Bill Hall had that ridiculous quote, something along the lines of "Look at my stats, I'm not having that bad of a year, I haven't been that bad," that was the last thing I ever needed to hear about Bill Hall. He's solid defensively and mediocre with the bat. He's Geoff Jenkins, except for some reason he seems to think he's a baserunning threat, which leads to him always making stupid mistakes and getting caught stealing. He's expendable. If I could replace one player in the lineup it would be Hall. I cringed the very day he got that four-year deal, and I can't wait until it's up. Every year I hope he's traded at the deadline.
  23. Why am I not surprised that you can find Bill Hall at KFC after games? Throw me into the "heard stories about stuff Geoff Jenkins likes" camp. I'd love to hear your stories.
  24. I also waited a while last year on Fielder's. Then someone had a dutch auction and I bought 10 of the Fielder's Huntsville bobbles.
  25. I'm going to represent the minority, but I'm saying it anyway. He's a grown man playing baseball. The same game he played since he was probably 7 years old. Just let him make his starts and give all the innings talk a rest.
