I had the feeling Mark Attanasio would have replaced both he and Sutton after last season but did not. It is no secret to me Bill does not add much to the telecast. And it is a fact there are others much worse out there doing color for other teams. I am of the belief that it is definitely time for a change here. I don't know who is available at this time, though, but would you like to see in his place?

Brian - I believe you caused a kneejerk response from me by coming out of nowhere to say my font was "obnoxious." I am using a laptop for the first time and also a Brewer chatroom participant for the first time, also. All the users fonts were quite small to read so I wanted to make sure I could read at least what I was submitting.

This was the Crew's 149th game tonight. Anybody know how many different lineups Yost has trotted out this year?? Has to be some kind of record; they keep stats on everything these days...

I like him better than Sutton; was hoping they would not re-sign him. Now, they can do the same with RockHead, "still and all."

Had a Milwaukee Journal route before I turned twelve but left it soon when I found out you really only made any kind of scratch from them once a month. Then, the day I turned twelve, I got a Wisconsin State Journal route and over the next three years had as many as three routes at one time(WSJ,TCT, and a Sunday WSJ gig). Was told I should've filed for income tax because I made enough but good thing I didn't because the next year I was back down to only one or two routes.

As recent as Wednesday, Gabe has been in the leadoff spot, then out of the starting lineup, then on Friday was the CLEANUP hitter. Can anyone remember any other MLB player who has batted cleanup and leadoff in the same week? Seems very unlikely, I would think. Strange.

Haudricourt dedicated the book to his wife, Trish, and enlisted longtime Brewers radio announcer Bob Uecker to write the forward. "I made sure that Uecker's name would be bigger than mine on the cover," Haudricourt said. "I'm no dummy. That was my idea. I looked those dates up and on Friday 8/3 it was Retro Friday so they have to wear the throwback jerseys and on Sunday 8/5 they wore the alternates. EDIT: Checked it out and since the beginning of July, other than throwback Fridays and the Cerveceros night they have only worn road grays or home whites jerseys five times - 8/2,7/28,7/18,7/15. and 7/8.

Can anybody tell me when was the last time the Crew wore jerseys other than the alternates?? Home or away. At least televised games. I had thought it to be impossible, at least short of several post season games. What is the present attendance figures and how many dates left in the regular season?? EDIT: Going by the thread starters figures they would need to average 42600 for the rest of the regular season. Wont happen. Book it.

As the person who started this thread, let me inform all of you that I did not wish ill will on Matt Wise and take no joy in his recent pitching struggles. I guess what caused me to think that Matt might have a problem after the incident was noticing how he appeared immediately after and then the fact he wanted to visit Mr. Lopez as soon as he could. Now, some peole could move on after an incident like this. But, maybe being the sensitive sort he apparently is, seeing Lopez again in the hospital and the condition his face must have been in, is causing him problems that I am guessing hypnosis or some sort of attention to help him return to the pitcher he was before is needed. This is just an opinion; I am not a medical professional.

Actually, the closing ceremonies were on MSN and were wonderfully done. Matt Vasgersian and Bill Schroeder said next to nothing and let the show take over. Miller Park's opening, however, was covered by Channel 12, and it was horrible. We had to listen to their dumb reporters babble about stuff that had been covered by every other channel previously, and they completely cut out Robin Yount's speech. It reminds me of when they did Monday night Packer pregame coverage; they simply wanted to 'show off' every reporter they could. The last game ceremonies for four hours leading up to the game was on ESPN Classic hosted by Linda Cohn. She actually looked fairly hot back then, at least to me. Part of the open had some announcer saying as they showed video of these players, "Wouldnt it be grand for Bob Uecker in his 30th year as Brewer's announcer to say, 'With Spahn on the mound, Crandall behind the plate, Cooper at first, Molitor at second, Mathews at third, Yount at short and an outfield of Aaron, Thomas and Oglivie, "You must be in the front row!' And farewell to Milwaukee County Stadium." The game itself, against the Reds, which Cincy won 8-1 was started by Elmer Dessens(11-5) against D'Mico(12-7) Actually, the closing ceremonies were on what was the last baseball season of Midwest Sports Channel. It was wonderfully done and Matt and Bill always seemed to speak after Uecker, Gillespie, or Harmon finished introducing people. When Uecker was finishing up and then the lights slowly being turned off there was not a dry eye in my house. I must have not recorded any pregame before that first MP game but just the game(exhibition) against the White Sox as I just got home from work right after the game started was the first year of Fox Sports Net. Starting pitchers were Paul Rigdon against Cal Eldred. Announcers for the Brewer's were Len Kasper and a bad facial hair Schroeder. And there was a 45-50 min. show later that evening, I believe, called Thanks for the Memories' (from WISN Milwaukee CH12) hosted by Dan Needles and Tom Sutton.

If you are referring to that brown/white display board it was anticlimactical to me as soon as I saw it! The next year, IIRC, a color board came to be I believe at Dodger Stadium. At least once a year, since 2001, I'll watch my recordings of Milwaukee County Stadium's Closing Ceremonies and Last ever game at Milwaukee County Stadium activities along with ESPN Classic Live - part of that last game and Thanks for the Memories' from WISN Milwaukee CH12 Gives me chills every time and keeps my memories fresh going back to 1964, the 2nd last year the Braves called MCS home. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/happy.gif
