  1. Continuous rain, wind, and lightning the last 45 minutes or so in Watertown. Tornado siren went off an hour or so ago but so far so good. Hoping the dish allows us to watch the horse race at 5pm.... Stay dry and safe.
  2. I will be in a car, between Madison and Milwaukee, all afternoon today. What can I expect as far as coverage and stations to provide pick by pick information?

  4. This about a minute video. See if you can detect before the last ten or so seconds what I am talking about. http://www.flickr.com/photos/26525633@N02/2550376646/

  8. I forwarded the link to my son, a college-level umpire, and here was his reply after viewing: "Was that a called steal/squeeze? otherwise, where the hell was the runner on first going when the pitcher faked to 3rd? I would find it very hard to believe that the runner on 3rd broke to the plate before the pitcher would have came to the plate. But it almost looks like that. If that[/i] is the case, what a hell of a risk, hoping that the play would be botched, or that the pitcher would balk.... That is a crazy play."
  9. Jonny We're talking MLB here; not what you may have done before
  10. I cannot seem to find any video of it. Any help is much appreciated!
  11. I agree. As long as they're winning, I don't care if they're stripping down to their boxers. Obviously winning is the only time you should see it. (Now, if they all come out of the dugout and do it after a loss..http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif)
  12. picture from after 6/1 game as an example Alright, blast away and call me an old fogie if you must but I am seeing more of this all the time not only in baseball (I mostly watch the Brewers) but watch when all the players are congratulating each other after a win. It seems that virtually all of them already have PULLED their jerseys out and I think look quite sloppy. Guess they are in a hurry or suddenly very uncomfortable. Same thing with the NBA (I mostly just watch some of the playoffs.) Sure would be nice if managers/coaches would have their players to just wait another minute. It will quickly filter down all the way to the youngsters. Is that asking too much? Just rubs me the wrong way.
  13. Sunday reminded me how muched I did not missed 3TO for the past couple years. A GOLDEN SOMBRERO!!
  14. Dude. I assumed by your thread start 'cream of the crop' meant POY's. (Silly me.) It's a good starting point to me. You did not get into such detail to enhance your reasoning until each successive post. We agree to disagree.
  15. Dont let the facts get in the way of a good story, Paul. I am a big UW fan, but I will stand by my original statement.
  16. I guess if you call two of the previous three state players of the year going to MU 'spurning', then yes, I guess you are right. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  17. A plug here for a southeast Wisconsin guy, Terry Reynolds, who went to school with me back in the day. After 25 years in the Dodger organization he is with Cincinnati in his fifth season now . This blurb, in parts, from the Cincinnati Post a year and a half ago: "Reynolds was named the Reds' director of player development..." (Dec 2006) and "Reynolds was hired by Dan O'Brien in 2004 as the director of amateur scouting and was responsible for the Reds' 2004 and 2005 drafts, which netted the organization's top two prospects, pitcher Homer Bailey in 2004 and outfielder Jay Bruce the next season." Couple of good early returns on those two drafts I would say!
  18. It wasn't all that close of a play
  19. The chances of being struck by lightning are estimated at 1 in 700,000
  20. I'm sure that's the one. It's in McMinnville, Oregon. I'm told it is about 90 minutes south of Portland.
  21. Went to Appleton today watching games two and three. UWW won the first tilt and is still alive - GO WARHAWKS! Second game had Linfield playing Adrian. Linfield was eliminated 3-2 and I found out that 1998 World Series MVP, Scott Brosius, is in his first year of coaching his alma mater ('85-'87) at Linfield. Last game of the day, in the winner's bracket had undefeated Trinity defeating Johns Hopkins 8-5. The weather cooperated - we arrived at 3:30 and the sun popped out at about 4:30 and clouded up and got somewhat windy after that. Around 8pm some sprinkles came down. All in all a nice way to spend the day!
  22. I see Kean has made it back again and UW-Whitewater makes the short trip up north to participate. Trinity is unbeaten, though! Thinking I will shoot up there Friday and/or Sunday. Last year, I remember it was quite warm but should be decent weather this weekend. Nice way to spend one day or more of an extended weekend, don't you think? http://www.titans.uwosh.edu/NCAAChampionship/2008/Finals/Bracket.pdf
  23. Maybe I missed it in all of those stats, but what is our team batting average only against right handed pitchers as opposed to left handed pitchers?
  24. In light of all the team controversy, its record in particular, I would be interested in seeing what you all call 'splits.' Am interested in seeing how our hitters are doing against RH pitchers versus the southpaws. I have mentioned on this board before the season started the Brewers needed more than just one left-handed batter in its regular every day lineup. I may be wrong, so far, but I am still interested to see how much, if any, this may contribute to the team's current record. Thank you in advance for the legwork!
