  1. I would take a look at Wil Inman, still fairly young, and could help in the pen
  2. I think of Gomez as a nice 4th outfielder. I would like to think we could use him in a trade to bolster our bullpen. I really believe Maldonado will not be a Brewer next year. I think they feel set with Lucroy and they will get a grisled gritty vet to back him up. I think they will try to strike while the iron is hot.
  3. I am pretty sure at one time or another people have said this is one of Melvins weaknesses. As I see it we have a few players playing over their heads right now-----Gomez, Estrada, Fiers, Maldonado. I am not advocating trading all these players espically since most of them are cheap but I am curious what others think.
  4. Opening day against the Rangers on ball give a way day. I was running a 102 temp from the flu. I was getting hot chocolate when Matheny hit his grand slam. I was at one game where Sosa hit a homer and when Mcgwire hit one and had another taken away. My oldest sons first game, never baseball fan but always a nascar fan, it was race car give away day. He staryed getting cranky and the brewers were losing so we left in the 5th,.The Giants kept that inning going from the time we got in the car until we pulled in our driveway in Racine
  5. I trade Mike Fiers for a small fortune since I think he hit his top trade value
  6. I could see Melvin try to patch together something for next year like Greinke and Gindl for, Tillman, Chris Davis and Patton, Time will tell.
  7. I know this is the small sample, but does anyone think Martin calls a better game than Lucroy or Kotteras, hense a little winning streak.
  8. LF Aoki SS Ransom RF Braun 1B Hart C Lucroy 3B Ramirez 2b Green CF Morgan/Gomez I know, Ransom in the 2nd hole is not great but I would ride the hot hand between Ransom, Green, our cf platoon.
  9. Razor Shines
  10. Cody Ransom is this years Juan Bell. Of course that means Itzuris would be this years Jeff Huson. I think I may have thrown his name out here in 2006 when Hardy was hurt and the Chris Barnwell era began. But that would have been before we acquired Graffy.
  11. I believe Lind is owed 5 million this year amd next with options for 2014 thru 2016. Not sure if I want to take a chance on him, one great year a bunch of bad years
  12. Melvin brought in about the only choice that makes me hope Izturis does not go down with some type of injury
  13. Brett Lillibridge from the White Sox might seem to fit. I am looking for some one who would seem to settle nicely into the utilty spot next year. Trevor Ploufe from the Twins could fit to but not so sure about his D. Aaron Miles may be available but I am note sure the last time he has played shortstop.
  14. He has seem to have fallen quite aways on the prospect list, however he is fairly young, has some power, walks, plays adequate D, could be had fairly cheap since he is blocked in the Red Sox system, just a thought.
  15. I only play a GM on the internet( and I am not doing really great there either) but I would like to see Hart to first and bring Schafer up to start, see if we can sign someone like Aaron Miles. Again that is just me
  16. I amgoing to assume ESPN box score is wrong----- they have Gomez plaing shortstop
  17. I started reading asterisk---a book about Barry Bonds steroid(or non steroid use according to the book). It does have some interesting arguements. I bought it because it was two dollars at Tuesday Mornings. I got a few others, a Billy Williams bio, Tony Larussa bio, and a Yogi Berra bio, plus a book called Perfect( about baseball Perfect games). Just bought the Extra 2% and the Baseball Econmist for my e reader. I buy a lot of books I get about 70 pages into them and then something else interest me, Oh well may be someday I will have a tad more free time to get thru them.
