  1. Looks like Hoffman is coming in for the 10th if we get that far.
  2. Try looking around page 13. Plenty of good tidbits there. Here is a shock. I agree with Russ about the (non) useage of turnbow.
  3. This just in... the cub offense is really bad.
  4. I am praying the crew can get some base runners on here so Ned is forced to pinch hit for Doug.
  5. This is unreal. We had an OFF day yersterday. Everyone in the pen should be fresh. Why is Doug pitching 125+ on a day like today?
  6. Why are we carrying 13 pitchers again if we leave our starter out there for 115+ pitches when he clearly isn't on top of his game?
  7. Can anyone explain why Doug is still pitching?
  8. In defense of Rickie he is hitting .277/.362/.356, coming into the game today, which isn't bad at all for a second baseman. In fact BP has him listed as worth 2.1 runs above an average second baseman right now. The scary thing is that he really hasn't started hitting the ball yet.
  9. Every Brewer starter has been on base this game. That is how you score runs.
  10. The cubs are the least patient team in the majors right now. Duke 48 pitches through 4 innings. Unless they learn not to hack at everything the cubs are going down.
  11. No Pujols, Edmonds, or Rolen in the starting lineup today for the cards. Even with those guys their lineup is starting to look a little weak and without them it is down right terrible.
  12. Wow Salome with his 6th error and Gamel with his 8th on the season. Both of these guys are young so this isn't the end of the world but they will certainly have to work on their defense to make it to the show. Salome especially as he really only projects as a catcher.
  13. Thanks for the update Mass. I had been wondering why he wasn't showing up in the game logs.
  14. You MUST pinch hit there. Ben is just terrible with the bat and a hit could basically ice the game. How much better is Ben at 92 pitches than Kolb fresh from the pen anyway? It isn't like Ben was going to go more than one more inning at the most.
  15. I, for one, would like to see Prince back in the lineup tonight. I am fine with him sitting against the really tough lefties as it is good to have a day off once in a while. Williams is far from a great lefty and what I saw of Prince in the minors he has a very solid apporach against the lefties. I expect him to hit the righties better but I think he will do fine against the lefties. It is situations like this that make me wonder why they sent Corey down when they did. Yesterday and today would have been great oppertunities to get him a start at first yesterday and then a start today for Jenkins. DLing Kolb would have been a much better option IMO. I really don't want to see Corey rot in AAA.
  16. I have been away from my computer for a while. Can anyone tell me if Alcides Escobar is hurt? I just checked the previous couple of games and didn't see his name. Thanks.
  17. Double switch here and bring rickie into the game for Jeff right?
  18. I admit that I have been critical of some of Yost's in game moves but I think he played that inning perfectly.
  19. Normally I think teams bunt too much but I would have miller bunt right here.
  20. Why didn't Tracy pinch hit there? It isn't like Perez is going to on the mound for more than an inning and a hit there could break the game open. That looks like a clear choice to me. Also, 111 pitches for davis in the opener. Since they decided on the 4 man rotation without giving an extra day of rest to the starters I think I would have perfered a lower number but not in the horrible range.
  21. That should make for an interesting A+ team with an infield of Braun, Escobar, and Hernan. I too am a bit surprised that Braun is headed to A+. He really should tear up the FSL and hopefully get a chance at AA later this year. Not really too excited about the huntsville team this year though some interesting pitchers.
  22. This is very good news. After see a couple of games there this year I was not impressed with their stadium at all. The scoreboard looked like it was about to fall down and the stands were not in the best of shape either. Before the game I overhead a couple of the opposing players complaining about the infield. It also appears to be in a not great section of town though buses were running to the stadium.
  23. No luck for Helena tonight but you have to love the way Inman pitched the whole season. 58 K's and only 11 BB's in 45 innings at helena as a 18 year old. 5 dingers but I'm not too concerned about that. He will be one to watch next year. Looks like off to WV for him next year.
  24. ok that was bad but it's the pitchers spot(probably conor jackson) then top of the order. Even if a couple men get on McCracken is now their cleanup hitter and their bench is basically used up. I'd like to see 'Bow here but not batting 9th as two innings may be needed. Double switch maybe? edit: Darn cbssportsline
  25. Pinch run here? Where's trent when you need him?
