  1. That's definitely an example of it. He's always been a smug player that gets a pass for his behavior due to where he plays.
  2. I would like to see this. I don't remember it. I remember the .gif that's already been posted in this thread very well. I'm not going to go hunting for it - it bothers me that much - but he did it the entire playoffs. Though, he did it with impunity against the Brewers. He took his fists up to his eyes and made a face like he was crying, while simultaneously rotating his fists to simulate tears. He is, by far, my least favorite player, non-Jeter division.
  3. I would use a .gif of him making that god-awful crying eyes thing he did to us in the playoffs a couple of seasons ago, but that image draws up so much rage within that I just can't do it.
  4. I just came here to say that I love this signing.
  5. I'm very disappointed, obviously, but I think that this was a huge factor for a guy with bad knees. If Seattle were a NL team he's likely back with the Brewers.
  6. [sarcasm]Until he comes to Superior and sings Randy Newman songs at karaoke, I won't be satisfied.[/sarcasm]
  7. I think this is the biggest issue here. I don't mean to single you out, but a lot have expressed sentiments similar to this, and the reality is there isn't anything Braun can do or say that will alter the perception of him being a perpetual liar. At this point you either believe him, or you don't.
  8. I'm glad he at least acknowledged his usage, and the how and why. I don't care if he used in college, and I'm willing to bet that the production we got from him last year is pretty on par wig what we'll get in the future. He must have been tested like mad during 2012 on the heels of the failed test. The reality is that nothing he says will satisfy everyone, and there will always be doubt, but I tell you this, I'd rather he see a career rebirth here rather than New York or LA.
  9. Nope, not me, the pinstripes was limited to 5000, just like previous years, and this year's Braun... Apparently there was an error when placing the order, and the person doing the ordering ordered 5000 pinstripes and the rest the powder blue uniform... The ineptness amazes me from such a large organization. That and poor marketing is frustrating. If this is true, I'm equally glad and frustrated that I got one when my wife and I attended the game. I would have much preferred my chance at an in-park variant have come with the Braun in the spring, but, hey, at least I was able to get one.
  10. The buyer of the blue alternate turned out to be a deadbeat buyer. I'm offering it here before it goes back on eBay this weekend. $60, OBO http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Milwaukee-Brewers-authentic-cool-base-alternate-jersey-sz-44-NWT-/00/s/MTAwMFg5MTk=/z/PEkAAOxymnFSDQhX/$(KGrHqJHJFEFH3Rjq9uzBSDQh(E0Tg~~60_57.JPG
  11. He did his job properly, his employer disagreed with him. The collector broke protocol. That's a "technicality" but it's correct. The collector was at fault. Das acted appropriately given the facts thy have been made public.
  12. During Sunday night baseball, the bottom line claimed multiple sources told Olney that Braun was trying to recruit other players to mount an anti-Semite defense against the sample collector. Whether this is true or not, to me, is irrelevant. ESPN it's clearly trying to rake as much muck as they can. Even their Rodriguez coverage is getting over the top.
  13. I think you make some great points, and for the most part I agree with you. The key is to finish strong, maybe play spoiler and enter next year with some confidence and health. [blue]Although I think that Torts should have started this thread.[/blue]
  14. Hi folks. I've got a few fully licensed jerseys up for sale on eBay right now, but I thought I'd list them here as well. http://www.ebay.com/sch/parallax08/m.html I'm wide open on offers, and tell me you're a Brewer Fan member when you make your offer I'll give you free shipping within the US. Feel free to ask me questions and make offers. Mods if this doesn't belong here, please delete. Thanks!
  15. The trainer has claimed this to be false, but nothing regarding Pujols would surprise me.
  16. My wife and I attended, we got one of each. The party of ten next to us was 9 blue, 1 white, and a little girl in front of us had 2 blues kissing each other for two innings. Not particularly relevant, just odd despite your political inclinations.
  17. This would be reminiscent of an old WWF face turn: "Right here, in this very stadium, Ryan Braun will tear up his old contract, and sign a new one in front of Commissioner Selig!"
  18. The thing about that was that it was only good for brands sold in the team store, Reebok and Nike. You couldn't bring a Wal-Mart fan jersey in for trade. The Patriots shop wasn't going to turn away the jersey if it was a legitimate licensed product. Having said that, there's no way the Brewers do this. Braun is a part of this organization going forward, whether some fans like it or not.
  19. This is a tremendously team friendly deal, which is hard to say when dealing with $100M. The Sox beat Cano to the marketplace so they don't have to worry about Pedroia demanding an equivalent salary. Pedroia gets some pretty good security in a town and park he loves. Win-win.
  20. Not bad for a player that went unsigned through the first month of the season. Now send Gallardo to Boston.
  21. Big Daddy Drew does it again. I love that Deadspin is the voice of reason in the media. http://deadspin.com/hey-baseball-you-can-stop-overcorrecting-now-883673576
