And agreed again - I just hope he only ends up blowing 6 or 7 saves all year and we can look like prophets in september Yeah I hope so Gorman. We shall see, but at some point if this continues to happen I might have to quit defending so hard.
Four blown saves in mid-April, imnagine that People may disagree but some of those have been bad luck. Also all closers blow saves, hopefully he is just getting his out of the way now. I believe Mariano Rivera had an awful April last year.
I think it has been well established that that pitch should have never even taken place because he should have been rung up on the 2-2 ptich. But obviously that would be the one pitch he would want back. He showed great resolve and I can't blame him if he was a little let down by the ump missing that call Gorman I swear were a couple of the only Gagne supporters on this board.
Nice job trying to pull that pitch JJ. When is Skaalen gonna get through these players thick skulls that they need to drive the outside pitch to the opposite field. Your a professional, hit like one.
Yost really needs to let Bush go deep tomorrow even if he is struggling. Yeah he might hav stick it out and go deep no matter what happens. Or we get a run here and end it we have a fresh McClung to throw 3 or 4 innings tomorrow if needed.
People will continue to bash Gagne and Im just going to accept that. Even though I'm still on his bandwagon. Sure he hit Izturis and gave up a hit but he then struck out Ankiel and got Pujols to hit into a picture perfect DP that didn't get completed.
I said the exact same thing on another board. Weeks' throw sucked but many 1st basemen pick that ball. Fielder has looked atrocious on defense this year. I put much more blame on Weeks for that play, but yeah A LOT of 1B pick that ball and its game over. But it was one of the worst throws I have ever seen he had tons of time.
For three innings?? No at some point today since we had a 5 run lead that we couldn't hold. Billy Hall is becoming the new 3TO. HR, K or Ground Out to SS.
The fact of the matter remains that he shouldn't have even had to pitch today if the rest of our bullpen does their job and he should've already gotten the save today. That is exactly my thoughts. Riske and Shouse didn't quite get the job done today. And that sucks but it happened.
