  1. I guess the Selig one is overdue. But holy hell, is that a lot of non-player bobbleheads already.
  2. It could be worse, I suppose. It could be a Yuni bobblehead.
  3. I guess BB hasn't been around for very long.
  4. Uh oh, someone hit a nerve there
  5. "Casual" fans don't want a George Scott bobblehead, so that game doesn't sell out. If they do another Carlos Gomez, it'll be packed. So it goes. I don't necessarily think it's the fact that they have too many, it's just that the past couple years have featured some bobbles with less than broad appeal (Henderson, Scott, Pilots Thomas, Oglive come to mind). In any case, I used to wish they'd just do away with the bobbles altogether. But I've come to the realization that if they can pack the stadium for games and dump the cost of production on a sponsor, I don't see the harm. All goes into the piggy bank to help field better teams.
  6. The girlfriend convinced me to get game tickets for the Hank bobble. One of those is plenty, and I'm not a runner, so there's no way I'd shell out for the same bobble in non-SGA form.
  7. Meh. Shine is really wearing off the retro thing. I find myself caring less and less.

  9. $28 for a Scoots bobble? What planet are you living on?
  10. No work for me, so I think I'll go. Need to get this bad boy signed. http://topps.pixafy.netdna-cdn.com/media/catalog/product/cache/3/image/2000x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/A/R/ARTLE-1400411_1.jpg
  11. Laugh for the day: one of the gypsies must have picked up a case of those Sabathia bobbles always floating around and was trying to flip them straight up outside the game for Scooter bobbles. It'd be even funnier if it didn't just reek of pathetic - he had his kid camped out with him.
  12. Well, that's just it. I know for a fact that some of the gypsies went back multiple times, as their eBay sales pages have (or had) quantities of 3+. You pay $80 for the bobble and, likely on that particular day, at least another $20 for the game ticket (obviously if they buy more than one bobble, the ticket price factor diminishes accordingly). But let's say you buy one and sell for, say $140. eBay/Paypal will take their $20 right off the bat. Now you're at $120, and you just paid probably $100 to get the bobble in the first place. I don't know what these people are doing, unless in their heads they just think it's a quick $60. Anyway, the bobbles are cool and all, but I think we see from the first two series that the demand isn't huge given the original price (let alone gypsy resale prices). I know it's a deterrent for me, ... because they're just freaking bobbleheads. Best case scenario is the gypsies come out in full force for the next one and get sacked with a bunch of leftover inventory.
  13. I was in the team store in the 5th inning and they were already sold out. Which sucks, because I wanted one. But it also sucks for the bobble head gypsies on eBay, because I'm not going to pay more than $80 for a bobblehead.

  15. Funny, I've been working on the same thing. Tried to snag Raji at the Jordy Nelson softball game but no dice. I'm missing Rodgers and Woodson, too, but I have no idea how to get those two (particularly Woodson) without parting with a small fortune. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice on McCarthy. I haven't seen him available at any of the practices I've been to.
  16. Sent you a PM Hoops.
  17. Iceman is a legend, so I guess I'm not shocked about the market for that bobble. It's the people who actually want Bill Hall in a track suit that puzzle me.
  18. Those guys walking around with bags of bobbleheads are the worst kind of humans. Or at least they used to be. The guys who now line up on the sidewalks with boxes of bobbleheads trying to trade their Harvey Kuenn overstock have taken their place.
  19. At $153, probably would've been worth buying the 20-game pack. You could resell the tickets if you didn't want them. The first ones to market are always the most price-inflated.
  20. That sounds plausible. I have the fan's choice package and renewed ahead of the deadline for the perks. I suppose I can't blame them for not binding up everyone's individual choices.
  21. Jim, your presentation was much more impressive than mine, which consisted of 40 tickets (2 20-game packs) stuffed in an envelope with ads and a season seat holder handbook. Our F&B and upgrade vouchers came separately as well.
  22. I just received our season tickets, not a mention of the Segura seatholder bobblehead. Did anyone else get anything? Just want to make sure I'm not missing out.
