  1. It seems to me that the Cardinals tend to play more intelligently than the Brewers for many seasons. Knowing that the Brewers are generally prone to a lot of fundamental mistakes, its easy to take advantage. Regardless of talent level, they tend to play with a veteran mentality rather than a rookie mentality that a lot of Brewers possess.
  2. Not looking good for the hopes of getting any value in a Garza trade.
  3. It seems as if it will be difficult to cleanly dump Garza with such a costly 2017 salary attached to him as well as a checkered injury history.
  4. Yeah, we all knew that Garza wasn't going to get a win that easy. Looks like the bullpen will let another one slip away.
  5. The downside of working the count a lot eventually leads to a lot of caught looking strikeouts.
  6. My gut tells me that sewage and corroding internal environment utilities will be the upcoming maintenance issues going forward. Everytime the tax nears its end, they find new upgrades to stiff us with. http://urbanmilwaukee.com/2016/04/12/murphys-law-why-miller-parks-tax-never-ends/
  7. Putting it in terms of $ per person isnt really realistic. Its people who have paid for big ticket items like cars, boats, leased properties, building projects, and such have supported the lions share. The average home and vehicle owner probably has paid over $500 to 1000 over the years. Then think of all the kids under 18 who basically dont buy much of anything.
  8. Given the range of mechanical problems already seen with Miller park, I would bet real replacent costs will be underway in 2030. It certainly shows its age in many spots and is middle age right now. The problem at that point, of course, will be funding.
  9. Repeated idiotic baserunning seems to be a major problem wirh this team.
  10. Even making plays, I think this team falls way short of a sweep or even a couple wins in the series. They needed a hell of a lot more offense.
  11. I prefer having the possibility of being able to swing at an intentional ball
  12. Just a run of the mill blowout now. One of dozens to come this season. This April is looking as bad as last season, maybe worse considering run differential.
  13. I can presume that the Brewers odds were about as low as they get in the first place. Once the glass is nearly empty, the last few drips cling to the bottom of the glass. Evaporation to nothing is a slow process, even with if the glass tumbled over or is upside down. Therefore, expectations won't get worse.
  14. Heh, i guess "thats why we play the game" means "confirm what we already knew of the outcome".
  15. To what end? To possibly gift wrap another division title for the Cardinals? No thanks.
  16. Not excited at all. I am not seeing the point of signing a minor league contract for a 37 yr old with no free agent value. Having gone through multiple rehab stints, DFA'd four times last year, he is basically at the end of his career with the stats he showed last year. We must be pretty desperate to cling onto any lefty who has a pulse. It seems like the "nothing to lose" excuse, which applies to every player alive, rears its head again with this decision. I'd rather put my spare change somewhere else, even with a minor league deal.
  17. Another bullpen chokejob. So much for all the Dodgers Stadium and road performance hype. 4 loses of the last 6.
  18. I actually think his return to familiarity has helped him. He's just as good on the road than at home, so scenery doesn't seem to be an issue. He returns to Maddux, who he broke into the league with, and he is fixing Kranitz's tinkering of his mechanics over the last couple years. He has also gone to the slider a lot more than in the past, and gotten a lot more ground ball outs. Bottom line, getting away from the curse of "Brewers' pitching development" has done wonders.
  19. Garza is looking more and more worthless all the time. Even given pretty sizable leads, against the worst competition there is, he can't hold serve. This is just a lost cause.
  20. If it were one run then fine, but this time it was 3 hits, with a 2 run homer, and a walk. K-Rod basically was worse than Fiers entire 7 innings of work in one inning.
  21. Every win a struggle. If the guy gets the bat of his shoulders on the final pitch, there's a good shot that the Brewers lose this game. Kudos to the win. All its worth this season is half price Papa Johns pizza these days. I am sure some will brag of K-Rod's non-save turning into his 16th save, but sorry, not a save situation.
