Tampa is an exceptional case, no doubt ... BUT have they won a World Series? The Brewers have been close since 2018, too, BUT have they won a World Series? Face it ... the World Series winning teams have top-10 payrolls or very near it almost every single year ... the competitive advantage that big-market teams have is undeniable.

I don't blame CC and Stearns for being fed up SINCE we cannot retain/sign stars very well given the MLB payroll structure and our very-small-market status ... it's a frustrating uphill battle that sees little hope or fairness in it all.

The team needs some offensive stars, not castaways from other teams who had a career year 2-3 seasons ago. Expand the payroll and sign some legit hitting stars -OR- get MLB to have an NFL-style salary cap so other teams don't have a competitive advantage over us in signing/retaining stars -OR- continue to see this team's offense sputter.
