  1. Presumably, Ned feels Santana matches up better with Guillen. They have had luck pounding him in but Wise is not the guy for that.
  2. Ohka appears to swing the bat pretty well. Probably not for much power but he does look like a hitter up there.
  3. Yes, Moeller tried to go to second on the throw. The catcher took it in front of the plate. Standard procedure to go to 2nd so they don't try to get the runner scoring.
  4. Ron Darling is incensed that Branyan wasn't called out on the 1-2 pitch.
  5. Personally, Hall is looking like a tired player to me. He has not been playing this much the last couple of years. Seems like he is missing pitches or not driving them like he was earlier. By the way, record with JJ starting is now 25-31. 19-16 with JJ not starting. Not sure if it means anything. Please do not start another JJ to AAA thread. Thanks.
  6. Jet, The last 6 games Bottalico has pitched with rest, he has given up 1 run total. The last three with no rest, 6 runs. He is decent if used right. Ned needs to be disciplined in the way he is used. We have all these guys like JDLR who never pitch. Why? Santana is probably overused also but I haven't broken down his numbers.
  7. Quick, Ricky. We have an emergency! We need someone to go in there and hang a breaking ball! I meant, of course, bullpen catcher, shagging flies during BP, etc.
  8. Chalk this loss up to Blowtalico. It is time to trade him for anything to any taker....I'll take a handful of spit at this point... Just did some research. Games with at least 1 day of rest vs. two games in a row for Bottalico. 30G vs 8 games. ERA 3.38 with rest, 7.05 w/o WHIP 1.34 with rest, 2.22 w/o The Brewers need to understand that he is 35? If you use him, he cannot be used the next day except in emergency. If he is, don't blame him.
  9. Hoffy, Sorry to be sophomoric but how about: Brewers 374 Runs Scored 362 given up Braves 416 330 but I guess OPS is all that matters.
  10. I can't believe Miller tried to pull that pitch.
  11. So, here is where the stat heads, who need to justify that the Braves are the better team, will trot out... well, what the heck will they trot out? Um.. 49-37 40-45?
  12. Great technique of Davis catching the ball with your back turned to it.
  13. A decade of luck continues for the Braves.
  14. Actually it will be better to not have a coach. I realize this is hyperbole, but it is literally wrong. The Milwaukee Braves once had Gene Oliver hit a HR that didn't count because the 3rd base coach had been tossed out and not replaced. The umps ruled the HR didn't count because there must be a 3rd base coach. Oliver than struck out.
  15. Heck, Atlanta has less talent up and down the lineup than we do... And yet they're 8 games ahead of us.
  16. Didn't they talk to Jenkins after the first overthrow?
  17. And yet another easy double play ball that we can't turn over. Peavy you may be right about Weeks defense but I don't think anybody could have turned that double play.
  18. It's called gallows humor Stevo. Helps you to cope.
  19. Conine double clutched and it was very close at 3rd. He may have been out but it was a chance to light a fire under the team and fuel a sense of grievance. Chance wasted. Weeks HR? Never mind.
  20. I can't believe Ned isn't out there protesting the call at 3rd.
