  1. Atleast we have a strong bench http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. We could have benched JJ, play hall at SS, Wes at 3rd and Prince DH... This is more based on my desire to see Prince as much as possible before sending him down, not real logic http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. I'm a little dissapointed not to see Prince in there tonight... No way he can hit lefties any worse than Jenkins!
  4. I noticed that as well, and was a little suprised. I sure hope Rickie plays tonight, I have been going through both arguments in my head throughout the day and can't really come up with a conclusion of what should happen. It's been a while since Billy had a day off, maybe sit him tonight... I'd say Rillo, but he's been hitting more than anyone the last 3-4 days.
  5. "This wasn't much of a reach, if it was a reach at all." I haven't seen him in the top 10 on any overall talent boards. Maybe you have? To me when you're at #5, we shouldn't be taking 11-15 talent.
  6. "One thing I noticed is that Braun is the oldest of the players selected near the top, so he'll need to move through the system fast" I just hate that we decided to go away from picking the best player available to drafting a need. It appears to me that we went with the guy who would not only fill the need, but fill it as soon as possible. He won't be playing this year in Milwaukee and probably not next, so who knows who else we could have acquired via free agency or trade in the next 2 years to fill that whole instead? I go back to the NFL draft and the year that Wolf picked for need (Believe it was Edwards, Vinson and Mckenzie) and he said that was the biggest mistake he's made. Ted Thompson preached that philosophy during the draft and so has Mr. Z. TO me, old Doug Melvin got a little too involved in the decision and it may end up costly. I hope I'm wrong.
  7. I really hope we dont pass this guy up! I know we have a NEED for a third basemen, but Gordon won't fall to #5 and I just am not sold on what I've heard about Zimmerman. In baseball especially I think it's best to take the BEST player available because of the time in takes for a prospect to make it to the show. We may need a third basemen now, but will we in 2 years when one of the college guys are ready? Take the guy w/the most potential... this guy is likely to be that person at #5.
  8. "that's about the 4th ball Spivey has had caught on the track in the last 4 or 5 games. He's close. Of our hitters, he's definitely making the best contact " I have to disagree... he'll strike out 211 times at the pace he's at. I'd rather see him shorten up his swing and cut down on the k's. He's the #2 hitter, he needs to be on base and be moving players on the bases... I don't care if he flys out to the track every ab. What good is it doing?
  9. I'm so glad to turn it on my fox in Eau Claire, WI and see that I get to catch poker rather than the Brewers. But they have a twins preview on at 10! We've always got Brewer coverage here... now what? Am I going to be stuck with twinkies all year? Please let this not be true.
  10. How do I know if I'll be able to catch the game? I'm in Eau Claire and none of my listings that I'm checking show that the game is on. Is the same for others? Sorry if a bit off topic
  11. Some of you guys are horrible. I for one am really looking forward to seeing the young guys in the show, but if someone fails a bit and doesn't make a big splash, you're ripping apart!! You're setting yourselves up for dissapointment if you believe that these guys will come in and instantly be big league starts, that doesn't happen! Get real guys. Cappellan will be fine, he just won't come in and be a 20 game winner instantaniously. Remember, he was in A ball this time last year.
  12. "world series? no way not for a while the pitching has declined you have to agree last year we could rely on sheets davis kolb vizciano and santos " So in spring training last year did you know we could rely on Kolb, Viz, and Santos? Not me!
