I would prefer to just dip into FA for Yu, and if we don't get him, one of the remaining three marquee names. Long-term it would not be in our best interest to pay what Archer will cost in prospects. I won't be surprised if Burnes is better than Archer alone, let alone giving Santana/Peralta/Phillips.
Think Santana will be traded. Cain Yelich Braun Shaw Thames Villar Pina Arcia Bench: Phillips, Perez, Sogard, Aguilar, Vogt Phillips should get a lot of starts with Braun's injury history, and Aguilar can platoon with Thames.
I'm completely against moving any of our pitching prospects in a Yelich deal, and that's my fear right now. If you believe in Brinson, let him play CF this year and keep your other prospects for other moves (preferably pitching). I just don't think Yelich makes us a contender barring some major rotation changes.
Man, Medeiros' BB and K rates have to be extremely concerning. Seems like Brevard has had almost no positives this year, you have to wonder if there is major coaching/development issues there. The pitchers really aren't performing either.
