  1. I would prefer to just dip into FA for Yu, and if we don't get him, one of the remaining three marquee names. Long-term it would not be in our best interest to pay what Archer will cost in prospects. I won't be surprised if Burnes is better than Archer alone, let alone giving Santana/Peralta/Phillips.
  2. Think Santana will be traded. Cain Yelich Braun Shaw Thames Villar Pina Arcia Bench: Phillips, Perez, Sogard, Aguilar, Vogt Phillips should get a lot of starts with Braun's injury history, and Aguilar can platoon with Thames.
  3. You would be OK with Brinson + Burnes? Wow, that's crazy to me.
  4. I'm talking about this deal specifically. If it's Brinson + any pitching prospects, I'll pass and pass easily.
  5. I'm completely against moving any of our pitching prospects in a Yelich deal, and that's my fear right now. If you believe in Brinson, let him play CF this year and keep your other prospects for other moves (preferably pitching). I just don't think Yelich makes us a contender barring some major rotation changes.
  6. Yeah, there is some junk on the 40-man. Not a justifiable decision then or now.
  7. Am I reading it wrong or didn't he have Woodruff #100 as well?
  8. Some solid ceiling between Hader, Ortiz, and Bickford for the Crew. Hopefully Hader and Bickford stay starters.
  9. Think he gets shelled. I know it's Colorado Springs, but righties murdered him this year, and it's still a step up from CS to MLB.
  10. Man, Medeiros' BB and K rates have to be extremely concerning. Seems like Brevard has had almost no positives this year, you have to wonder if there is major coaching/development issues there. The pitchers really aren't performing either.
  11. Bickford ranked as the 22nd best pitcher in all of the minors by MLB Pipeline.
  12. If Smith is worth Bickford, what is Jeffress worth?
  13. Bickford 2.71 ERA, 105 K in 93 IP this year, and just turned 21. Awesome trade.
  14. Man, has Phillips been a disappointment this season, especially repeating a level.
  15. That would be a horrendous move.
  16. I view Guerra as an easily disposable throw-in, personally. 31 years old and I don't feel he will ever pitch to the level he has this year again. If he helps extract a top level prospect by his addition to a deal, pack your bags.
  17. They are 12th in the NL in runs, 9th in OPS, and have the 5th worst run differential. 8th in ERA, 12th in BAA. They are nowhere close to a contending team. And you are saying "all they need is a #1/#2 pitcher" like that's easy to acquire. Stearns has the right blueprint in place, and it's going to take multiple years. Now, whether the right players are/were acquired is something we will find out, but he's doing it the right way.
  18. I'd deal Guerra before Nelson for sure.
  19. I would hope that Mendez or Ortiz aren't the headliner if we are talking a Lucroy/Jeffress package.
