  1. Did I see that graphic right? McCutcheon has no homers with the bases loaded? He's never hit a grand slam?
  2. I thought the same thing about the bunt. Instead he tried to hit one to the moon.
  3. We can't squeeze another game out of Braun? Tomorrow is an off day, it's a pennant race! Come on!
  4. If we had known at the start of this road trip that the Brewers would sweep one series and be swept in the other, this is how we would have seen it play out, right??? Baseball is an amazing game!
  5. Brew4U said: I'm thinking that's ballgame. Let's hope not.
  6. Didn't have the best camera angle, hard to tell.
  7. And you've got to give CC credit for pinch hitting for Anderson. That worked out well, too.
  8. Justin Wilson has been a train wreck for the Cubs so far. He just walked in another run for the jays!
  9. If Lester's out for a while the Cubs could just trade their top prospects for starting pitching. Oh wait, the White Sox and Tigers already have the Cubs top prospects!
  10. The TV announcers keep talking about the difficult road trip which is now upon us...3 @ Colorado, 3@ San Francisco, 3@ LA Dodgers. In the same time period the Cubs have: 1 vs Cincinnati 3 vs. Toronto 3@ Cincinnati 3@ Philadelphia The Cardinals have: 4@ Pittsburgh (1 actually at Williamsport PA) 3 vs San Diego 3 vs. Tampa What will the standings look like as the crew returns home after the trip? I can't see the Brewers doing better than 4-5, 1 win in Colorado, 2 in SF, 1 in LA. Cubs go 7-3, winning today and the 2/3 in each series. Cards go 6-4, split with pirates, 2/3 in the other series. That leaves us 4.5 behind the cubs and .5 behind the Cardinals on August 28. Your thoughts?
  11. He was promoted as a star in the making on that first Brewers team, kind of the first "face of the franchise". As Jim noted above, his success was short-lived. Rest In Peace, Danny.
  12. I realize I'm grasping at straws here but, assuming we don't trade for a 2nd baseman, what about giving the job to Villar for the next 2-3 weeks. Let him play against right and left handed pitchers. Let him know that the job is his for a period of time. He's a talented guy, perhaps a clean slate mentally could get him going again. Putting Sogard there hasn't worked out lately and Perez may be needed at third for the short term, depending on Shaw's situation. Like I said grasping at straws!
  13. Overall, Brian and Bill are fine, better than many other teams TV guys. But Brian kept mispronouncing Jeffress' name last night. He said Jeff-rees at least 5 times. Even my wife who was listening off and on said isn't his name "Jeff-ress? Come on, Brian.
