  1. Hader might not pitch 90 games combined in 2018 and 2019.
  2. Yes, Shoop has an 8 game hitting streak, but have any of those hits had any type of significance? I'd venture to say one, maybe two.
  3. For someone that's only going to pitch in games we're leading, that's a pretty low number for playing on a team that has more wins than 13 other NL teams. But hey, he can't pitch in 90.
  4. Preaching to the choir. I imagine it's because today doesn't have an S and T in it.
  5. Right now I would say the Cardinals manager, whatever his name is, is the best. Look what he's done with them since taking over for Matheny. Managers do make a difference.
  6. I'm out. but to be fair I've been out for a bit. I'm not sure they even finish higher than third in the division. Me too. This will be an interesting off season. Counsell and Stearns both should feel a bit of heat after this collapse. Have to decide on Moose and Schoop. Find a take for Braun or Thames. Decide what's up with Arcia. Lots to do if they want to get serious. Counsell should be on the hot seat, but not Stearns. He's done a fantastic job minus a couple hiccups. Counsell however has made some pretty head scratching decisions this season, especially when it comes to pitching changes. Perhaps Stearns should look for a manager with more experience that can get more out of this team and get them over the playoff hump.
  7. No, no I don't. I've tried countless times to fool myself into thinking this is the year, but deep down if everyone is honest with themselves, this is yet another example of coming out fast out of the gate only to run out of breath coming down the home stretch. I don't know why some here keep lying to themselves about it. This is the culture of Brewers baseball: playoff appearences a dime a dozen. Even 2008 you couldn't get too excited because you knew they wouldn't go far in the playoffs. I wonder if Stearns got fooled and made a mistake abandoning the rebuild after overachieving last season and making the trades he did since. The Brewers have taken over the Cubs lovable losers identity.
  8. Oh no, not Verducci. He might as well have a Brewers cupie doll and a needle.
  9. Didn't someone have him pegged to be our 2019 opening day starter after his first game?
  10. And with Kratz catching and Pina unavailable, the bullpen will be understaffed.
  11. Phew! The season is saved.
  12. .715 is his OPS. Regardless, he's been playing much better than Shoop so yes, I am upset.
  13. The Brewers have been a 0.500 team since the end of May. They will likely limp to the finish line with 85-89 wins. The low end is probably definitely out of the Playoffs and the upper end may not be enough to make the 1 game elimination. This is not a very good team right now. Adding 2 batters at the trade deadline has hardly moved the needle. Not a lot to be happy about (oh we didn't lose 2 in Chicago, Yay!)... Well, it did move the needle because their offense is much, much better now. So they were successful trades. The offense is better because the players we had all year that weren't hitting worth a flip are hitting better now. Braun has been hot after four months of hitting .230, Aguilar has gotten out of his slump and Arcia, Perez and Pina are hitting better. Moustakas has been great, but to say the Shoop trade has been a success to this point is just an out and out lie. Villar on the other hand is .271/.340/.715 with Baltimore.
  14. This game is why I don't buy into the "this isn't a must win game/series" logic. We're well into the fourth quarter of the season. When do they start becoming must win situations? You tread water into September and your job just became twice as hard as it is now. Let's just pretend for a minute that we have a chance to win the division. We spent two games against Cubs to gain absolutely nothing, and now we have to depend on other teams to do our dirty work. Most of which I venture to say are not as good as us. The win two out of three mentality will work against teams that are behind us, but even winning two of three against teams ahead of us only gains us one game in three days. Wins are at a premium now. I know it's difficult to sweep a three game series but that's pretty much the mindset you have to have now.
  15. Almost half those PAs are strikeouts. He also has four errors and he was supposed to be a defensive improvement over what we had.
  16. Well we sure as hell can't use Hader. He can't pitch 90 games you know. Never mind he's only on pace for 50, he can't pitch 90.
  17. What happened? MLB gameday just said "flies out to left fielder" It was a routine line drive fly out that Schwarber had all the way. Hardly a just missed it hit.
  18. Stearns has been a great GM for us, but he's gonna have to wear that Shoop trade. The guy is useless.
  19. Oh I sooooo hope Braun hits this granny. EDIT: I just got home from work and now see he's out of the game. Got hurt again.
